It's been many months and there have been many wonderful entries, but it's time now for everything to come to an end! ... Well, not everything, but the final results of the coloring contest are here!

Thank you so much to everyone who entered, I had a really hard time with some of these decisions because there were just so many strong entries! Every prize is well-deserved, you guys are the best. heart

We'll begin with the lineart categories and then move on to the overall prizes. I hope everyone's sitting comfortably! Let's do this! ^^

Up first is, of course, Lineart #1! After an entry very early on, it struggled to find the two entries needed to push the category into Sudden Death, but I'm very happy to report that in the end, it pulled two entries and wound up giving me the toughest decision of the whole judging process because both of these entries were fantastic. I had to weigh their merits very carefully and study even the tiniest details, taking into account every aspect of the coloring.

The runner-up is...

The brown and gold combination for Black's jacket was well-chosen, and the skin tones were very well-rendered! The texture overlays added a bit of visual interest as well. ^^

Which means the winner of the category is...

I really liked the contrast of the green and black on Black's jacket, and the sweet soft colors on Jack! There was a lot of attention to detail, best exemplified by the meticulous shading on Jack's skirt. The shadows on Jack's shirt and Black's far arm really helped give a nice sense of depth.

Lineart #2 had some very tough decisions as well! There were many lovely renditions of both characters, who admittedly didn't have visual color references to draw from.

The runner-up is:

Another display of nice depth and a meticulous touch have won meowmeowkitty the runner-up position for this category! I liked the opposing red and blue, which actually suddenly makes me think of TF2. xd

Not only were the skin tones rendered beautifully, the hair and skin combinations are just spot-on perfect for both! I especially loved the rendering on the hands and ears -- the painted style really works perfectly considering the lineart was pencil!

Lineart #5 went a long time without any entries, but when the contest deadline was announces, it pulled out two! I couldn't be more pleased; I think I mentioned several times over the course of the contest I was worried about certain linearts potentially not getting any entries.

I really liked the color choices, I think they're very much the colors Orriole would wear for this outfit!

I loved the usage of shadow on this piece, and incorporating the colors of Orriole's usual attire into the jacket!

Lineart #7 has the interesting distinction of having been created expressly for the purposes of this contest! It also had quite a bit of freedom on color choices, since the only color reference for the character was a pic of her as a baby!

I really liked the decision to go with a lighter color on the jean shorts, and the green color of Parnell's hair is spot-on!

Not only do the dark colors suit Parnell quite nicely, I really liked the attention tot he shading of the folds in the shirt! The overall bold, dark edge of the color choices suits Parnell perfectly!

Can you tell I'm still frantically trying to type up results while posting results? sweatdrop Oh well! On to Lineart #9! This category only had one entry, so judging was really easy, but it was a lovely entry all the same which has well earned its prize!
