Gar was busy with trying to support the blue haired Harpy they'd come to rescue. It wasn't like he was particularly heavy - he probably weighed 110 pounds soaking wet - it was the wings. They made carrying the older male very hard, and rather awkward.
Cobalt was scouting up ahead like a good little soldier, making sure that they didn't run into anything nasty while they had their hands full.

Ian was struggling along with Gar. It sucked being careful of Hannibal's wings, but it would seriously put a damper on things for the blue haired guy if his wings didn't work because of some a*****e. "Damn wings are annoying." He huffed before looking up to where Cobalt was.
Ambellina wrinkled her nose as she came around the corner and nearly smacked into Cobalt. She smirked and looked him over like she was checking out a buffet line. "Well hello there."

Cobalt wasn't sure what to make of this, only able to blink at her for a moment before training the gun on her. "Name and rank!"
Gar sighed. and growled in frustration as his arms started to shake. "Yes, yes they are. ******** birds - I’ll never understand why they did it."

Amber blinked at him and then grinned. "My name is Ambellina. My rank is not important. I'm simply here to make sure Master Urian makes it out of this mess alive." The words came out as if she had been programmed to say them. After finishing her statement she leaned in and kissed Cobalt on the cheek before moving past him toward Gar, Ian, and Hannibal.
Ian chuckled as he saw Amber heading toward them all decked out in blue jeans and a bright t-shirt. She never seemed to care that someone like her was supposed to keep a low profile. Then again it never really seemed to matter. "Hey Amber, nice of you to join the party. I hope you know that you are really late."

Gar raised an eyebrow, and whistled. "So that's Amber, huh? Out of curiosity, what time did you tell her to show up?" He asked. He didn't seem too surprised that he'd called for someone of his own - he'd have been more surprised if he hadn't. What concerned him more at the moment was the fact that he was starting to lose his grip on the blood slickened body. He dug his claws in to try and keep him from hitting the ground, and he woke up, flapping furiously and fighting to get away in a panicked manner.
Cobalt fumbled for the tranqs on his belt.

Ian shrugged slightly. "Yeah Amber, my sometimes transporter. I called her before we even got here. She said, as all ways, "I will be there when I am needed." Ian chuckled again and shook his head. "She’s always late."
Amber moved silently over to Hannibal, reached in her pocket and then slammed a needle into his neck. "There, sleep times now." Was all she said as she dropped then needle and stepped back.

Hannibal could only stare at the needle, then at her before dropping to the cement floor of the corridor, twitching and looking at her still in a state of blind fear that only diminished when his eyes went dull with sleep.
Gar sighed, and looked at her gratefully. "Thank you - now, you mind helping with the carrying - I’ll scout for a while."
Cobalt sighed, and looked a little put off, but resumed his duties.

Amber simply nodded to him. Her blonde hair swaying as she did so. "So Ian, how in the world did you end up doing this, with two winged goof balls and..." She trailed off unsure of what to say next. Instead of speaking again she contented herself to watching Cobalt.
Ian glared at Amber as she spoke. Eventually she got the hint and settled into silence. Once he was sure she wouldn't crack out some idiot nickname for Gar that he would have to shoot her over, he settled down. "I came here because Gar asked me to."

Gar glared at her, but didn't say anything, allowing himself to be distracted by the work and only the work. It wasn't hard - they hadn't met with much resistance yet - it was lunch hour.
Cobalt slowed his pace, so that he could get closer to the woman. "I'm not a goofball, ma'am, but you have the winged part right. Would you like to see them? Makes the girls swoon, usually - they're VERY soft....."
Hannibal was... well... limp.

"How much farther until we can safely pass of mister blue here to medical?" Ian hissed hoping Gar was able to hear the question. He was also hoping that it wouldn't be too much longer, usually when Amber tranquilized someone there was a small chance that she had grabbed the wrong needle and he didn't want to take the heat when Gar found out.
Amber grinned at Cobalt as he smoothed his way over to her. "Hmmm I like wings...” She purred as she once again looking him over.

Cobalt sucked up the attention like a sponge, chirring and dropping in right beside her.
Gar's ears swiveled and he looked around. "Two more halls and we're out - that's about 10 minutes, if we hustle. More if we run into anyone." He assured, and picked up the pace a little. "Then, we can call in a raid, and get the others out. Andreya will be waiting for us on the other end."

Ian rolled his eyes at Amber and Cobalt. Amber was going to chew him up and spit him out. His attention turned back on Gar when he heard him speak. "Alrighty, well we had better hustle. Han here has lost a lot of blood." He knew he was stating the obvious but it never hurt to get people moving.
Amber smiled at Cobalt again as he dropped into the spot right next to her. It had been a while since she had been interested in a male. Now seemed like as good a time as any to pick one up.

Gar seemed to take the hint, and sprinted ahead like a flash. He wasn't very strong, and he wasn't exactly the best in a hand to hand fight, but he could really MOTOR.
Cobalt snapped back to attention when he saw his boss start to sprint away, and started to follow, though not as fast as the hybrid - he didn't want to leave them behind - that wasn't the point. That... and he couldn't deny that the female wasn't on his mind, and she was distracting him from doing his duty in the cut and dried manner he would normally have done it in.
Gar reached the entrance first, and secured it, waving the others on.

Amber and Ian upped their pace. Although they were still careful not to cause any more injury to the male they carried between them. When they caught up to Gar they didn't even hesitate before going through the entrance. Amber however did manage to wink at Cobalt as she passed him.

A hodgepodge girl sat in a helicopter looking them over in a way that suggested that she thought of them all as interesting specimens, but certainly not people.
Gar jumped in, and grabbed a stretcher, then came back to help secure Hannibal to it - not that the sleeping man put up any fight at all.
Cobalt stumbled when she winked at him - an outward metaphor for what his heart was doing every time he looked at her.... but this wasn't the time! He had to secure the perimeter, and make sure that there were no guards on the walls or anything!

Ian shook his head as he helped Gar attach Hannibal to the stretcher. Once that was done he turned to Amber. "You need to stop that, the boy is trying to work." He said his tone half serious and half play. Amber snorted and began to help them load the stretcher into the copter. "Okay well is that it or are we staying for the raid?" She asked Ian who in turn stared at Gar.

Gar shook his head. You all can go if you want to - that'd be fine if you did. But I'm staying - they're going to need all the hands they can get, and I'd feel really bad if they didn't get all the kids out because they were short someone."
Cobalt Looked offended. "I work just fine, thanks... pretty girl or no pretty girl...."

Ian shook his head at Gar. "You stay I stay. Like you said we need to get the kids out." At Cobalt's comment he rolled his eyes. Now the kid had done it. "Too late now, but just for the record. I was trying to save you the grief.
Amber's face lit up as Cobalt spoke. "Oh! He thinks I'm pretty!" She stated with a purr she was really going to like getting to know this one. "Well I'll stay. Wouldn't want any kiddos getting hurt."

Gar nodded at them, and sighed. "Sure - stay if you want. But you get in the way, and there will not be happy sentiments...."
Cobalt looked insulted at the suggestion that he could ever be in the way, but focused more attention on wooing Amber. "I think you're beautiful - not just pretty."
Andreya rolled her eyes, and commenced to circle once she was sure everyone was inside. "You people are ridiculous....' She handed the controls to her robot after a few passes, and went back to see what she could do for Hannibal.

Ian looked from Amber to Cobalt. He could just see the damage his favorite employee was going to do to the poor harpy’s heart. Then again sometimes Amber had a soft spot, maybe Cobalt had managed the nearly impossible and had landed himself there. "So what are the plans my dear?
Amber leaned in on Cobalt a soft purr rumbling in her chest. "We are totally going to have to meet when Ian isn't watching, he's a party pooper."

Gar sighed, and blushed when Andreya looked at him in a superior fashion at the nickname. "We wait for instructions from headquarters."
She did a quick patch job on him, and cleaned him up some. "He'll need a healer. I've done all I can do in the helicopter.... of course, it would have helped if someone hadn't injected him with snake venom....."
Gar looked livid then, and snarled at Amber. "You think Ian's a 'party pooper', you just wait and see how much fun I’ll be if he dies."

Amber blinked up at Gar, not looking the least bit concerned. "Calm down. He will be fine. I wouldn't have injected him if I were not sure of it." She stated calmly before glaring at Ian. "Apparently, someone hasn't warned you about me. I am a seer; I never do anything unless I am sure of the outcome." She stated her voice cold.
Ian winced as Amber was ousted. His mouth went dry as Gar snarled at her. Oh this was not going to go well. He reached a hand out to grab Gar's arm to calm him. "Gar, Hannibal will be fine....like Amber said she is sure of it."

Gar looked back at him, eyes narrowed. "He better be - seer or not, I don't trust the b***h. I do trust you though... so if you vouch for her, I’ll let it slide..."He looked back at her again, and smoothed his ruffled fur. "But if you touch him again, whatever you touched him with, be it hand or foot or even your head, it's coming off... slowly."
Andreya sniggered, and waved a hand. "Now, now, children - no fighting in the copter."

Amber flicked an ear and then nodded letting Gar know that she understood. She may not be one of his soldiers but she knew a commanding officer when she saw one and she wasn't about to fight this one.
Ian let out a sigh it was really his fault that Amber was now in the dog house. There was a reason she had dosed him with venom but he just couldn't figure it out. Maybe a healer would be able to set things straight.

One showed up shortly - albeit a very disoriented and haggard looking healer. He swept his long silver hair out of his eyes, and looked around blindly... because he was... blind. He settled on Hannibal at once, and got to work. "Hmmm... whoever injected him with the snake venom... that's a good job. I can't really tell who's who very well... so you'll have to forgive me if I seem a little rude." He said, and breathed in, them rubbed his hands together and laid them on the other harpy. Immediately, there was a sensation as though some of the color had been sucked out of the world, and then Hannibal was sitting up, coughing and sputtering.
Cobalt jumped a little, and looked disgruntled, and Gar shivered - he HATED that feeling.

Amber stayed completely still as the healer did his work. Being a seer she should have been as blind as he was, but due to the ability of a healer her she was eyesight intact. "I did what I saw." She mumbled before putting her head on Cobalt's shoulder.
Ian winced as the feeling invaded his person. He didn't like that, not at all. Healers put him on edge. He was a more physical kind of guy. If his body was too badly damaged for a doctor to fix then dammit he was gonna die. No healers were touching him.

The man smiled, and then seemed a little depressed. "It's okay - I get the sentiment a lot - it happens too often to ignore. If you would like me to leave...." He seemed unsure of himself.
Cobalt shrugged. "Not up to me, Sir." he said, and ran his fingers through Amber's hair in a soothing kind of way.
Gar nodded. "Sure - go ahead and leave - but save that for the worst ones. I know you don't use your own life like the rest of them, but that can't be healthy."
Hannibal looked around, and then curled up in a ball as far away from Amber as he could. "Holy s**t... I know it's just you guys... but that was scary... and I.... I’m sorry - all of this is my fault! I'm such a ********/> Ian was a little interested in what Gar had said to the Healer simply because it had something to do to using his own life. His attention was averted by the now talkative Hannibal who was looking at Amber like she carried a scythe and was wearing a black robe.
Amber smiled softly as Cobalt played with her hair. It was oddly soothing given the situation.

Cobalt continued to 'preen' her hair, because it was soothing to him too - he was nervous - he'd never been allowed on one of the bigger missions before, and he wanted to prove himself.
Gar was looking at him as well, now that the healer had left, and he sighed. "Hannibal - you want to make it up to us? Get on that computer and get a layout."
Hannibal jumped to, grateful to have anything to do that didn't involve being near the female that he feared would like to do him in even if that wasn't really the case at all. His typing filled the gaps in the conversations like quiet machine gun fire, and in no-time at all, he'd gotten them a layout, and opened all the doors from the inside out. "Done! Sending!"
Andreya had begun to set them down inside the fence, which was being worked on by a team nearby.

Ian found the older man's actions to be quite comical. Even though he knew what it was like to be on the receiving end of Amber's special brand of crazy. However he was used to it do to the fact that he and Amber had known each other since they had been in diapers. As the copter landed he leaned over and kissed Gar lightly on the cheek. "Lead the way fearless leader."
Amber was purring loudly now the noise vibrating through her entire body. As the copter began to descend she pulled away from Cobalt with a heavy sigh. His preening had been comforting and she almost hated the fact that she had to go hurt people now, almost.

Cobalt knew better than to look offended, but he did seem a little down trod when she pulled away. The jolt when the copter landed shook him out of it though, and he was quick to recover. He gave her a quick look to see what she was doing, and then jumped out with Gar, who joined the effort to get through the ranks that were streaming out of the building, firing at them all the way.
Gar dodged and weaved, firing back when he could.
Hannibal let out a little sound of glee as he worked on disabling all of the life support systems and the electricity to the cell doors and other barriers besides - he wanted to be there in the fighting, but this was just as fun.

Amber winked at Cobalt before he jumped out of the copter. She would join them of course, after she finished something of course. "Umm excuse me?" She asked as she tapped Hannibal's shoulder lightly.
Ian rolled out of the copter shortly after Gar did. He ducked and weaved shooting his gun whenever it was convenient. It was hard to keep an eye of Gar shoot people due to the smaller males speed. Plus Ian was a little out of practice.

Hannibal just about jumped out of his skin, and scrambled away from her. "Holy s**t! What did I do this time?! Please don't tell me you have more needles!"
Gar took a bullet to the shoulder, but kept right on going, screaming like some kind of large cat as he rushed the main contingent and started to melee with the sawed off - which he had no more ammo for.

She smiled at him but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "I would appreciate it if you didn't treat me like some sort of mutant. I saved your life, the least you could do is thank me." Her voice was so cold it could have frozen the man in front of her if she had that ability. With that she turned and jumped out of the helicopter. She scoffed at the other members sneaking along. That wasn't her style at all. Instantly she ran into the fray. Two bullets hit her but she kept going. Killing two of the enemy officers that were hassling Gar before moving on.
Ian winced at the sound escaping his lover as the other male engaged the enemy with ammo less gun. He was grateful then that Amber didn't have a self-preservation mode as he rushed to aide Gar.

Gar was beginning to slow down - the beating with the gun was not really his style, so he was tiring quickly. He almost rounded on Ian, but stopped himself at the last second, and had to step back, left arm flopping uselessly. He didn't get much of a break, however, as a second, but definitely smaller wave came from inside. This time around, they'd sent some of the harpies and their brethren - all of them with shock collars on to insure their obedience. Gar beat a large cat hybrid half to death, and then went on to another one, staggering with fatigue.
Meanwhile, the force was being beaten down in other areas as well, and the fighting had become more stratified, the assailants coming from different angles and growing lesser by the minute.
Cobalt had long since gone down, too inexperienced to really withstand this kind of fighting.

Amber was moving onto attacking the circle of idiots who had trapped Ian and Gar when something caught her eye. Her eyes widened as she recognized Cobalt down on the battlefield. She looked from where he was to where Ian and Gar were encircled. With gritted teeth she forced her injured legs to push onward toward where Cobalt lay.
Ian gripped his gun and shot two attackers in the head and then a third in the chest and then stomach. He grunted as he hurriedly wiped sweat from his eyes. A flash of yellow told him that Amber was close but something else had attracted the leopard dog hybrids attention. With a heavy breath he aimed to more shots at a fourth member of the enemy forces.

Gar abandoned the gun, shoving it down someone's throat, and went in with his knives, only thankful that he saw the end in sight as the crowd around them started to thin due to the cavalry arriving. One of his old friends had finally gotten there, the dragon sloughing through bodies like a tank.
Cobalt lay half under another body, breathing in shuddering gasps and trying in vain to extricate himself from the other dead body even though it was all that was holding his insides in. He saw Amber, and shook his head at her, yelling out, "Behind you! As loud as he could, blood bubbling up from his mouth even as he did so.

Amber growled before turning and tearing the person behind her to shreds. Covered in blood, breathing heavily, and injured she dropped down next to him. "Cobalt, calm down. You're badly hurt." She told him soothingly. She wanted to move the dead body off of him but she knew what she would find underneath it. "A healer will be here soon, please just hold on." She whispered while running her fingers through his blood stained hair.
Ian shot the last two that were near him and dropped the empty weapon to the ground. The enemy forces had taken a big hit and only a few small groups were still standing.

Gar wavered on his feet, and then sat down in the middle of the pile of bodies, looking green around the gills. The other troops were mopping up the remainder, and he knew he couldn't go any farther - there was no way in hell. He'd rest up and then help with the kids - he loved kids..... He slapped himself, and looked angry - no! No passing out - not here - not when they needed him!
Cobalt tried his damnedest to do as she said - to stop moving and remain calm. Her petting him was a big help - it allowed him to focus on something other than the way he felt like he was drowning, or the sensation of the wind on parts that weren't supposed to be exposed. He looked up at her blearily, and couldn't help himself as he cried with the pain.
Roland, the dragon who had helped them out, was grinning at Ian. Nice day for a stroll, huh?"

Ian nodded at Roland while still keeping an eye on Gar. "Do you need some help love?" He asked dropping down to crouch near him. He turned to look for Amber and found her. He could see wings and that she was soothing whoever was over there. "I think Cobalt is hurt Gar." He stated his mouth dry.
Amber could feel tears welling up as she looked down at him. "Shh, it's okay." She whispered trying to keep his mind on other things. "Everything will be alright, you'll see." She added her voice breaking slightly.

Gar looked over in the direction he'd seen Ian look, and yelled "Medic!" And started over to where they were, fear fueling him even though he was tired. He couldn't help but beat himself up about the whole deal - Cobalt was not used to this large a scale in battle - he'd literally thrown him into a situation that was too big for him. He should have just gone home.....
Cobalt whispered out in a raspy voice, blood still coming forth from his mouth. "I trust you... I do. I trust you... I love you."
A harpy followed Gar, and winced at what she saw, but couldn't turn away. "Oh god. That’s really bad. That's really, really bad..."

Ian followed after Gar his heart fell at the sight of Cobalt on the ground covered in blood. He let his glance fall on Amber and he gritted his teeth. She had become attached to him unusually fast and it was going to be a bumpy ride for her.
Amber let the tears fall as she gripped his hand and continued to run her hands through his hair. "Shhh, I know. I love you too." She heard the others behind her and looked up at the healer. "Please, you must help him." She pleaded.

..... And then everything faded to black.
