It was towards the end of a beautiful winter sunset, a lone figure was sitting near a small forgotten grave yard. It was one of those little grave yards that had been made when a traveling group had lose a number of their groups. So here on a worn, little used trail a forgotten grave yard had been built.
And yes it might be a bit cliché that a 'goth' would be sitting at night at a grave site but tonight it was in fact the case for Vera. She would never say she was a gothic person but her sister and her sister's friends labeled her as such because she always dressed in dark clothes and she had a number of piercings. Some that were not easily seen. She had never caught on to what was though of as pretty and she did not care to try and be bright and sunny all the time.
The night was not as cold as the other ones had been and so Vera leans back against a large rock she was sitting in front of and looked up at the darkening sky. It really was a nice place to be buried. She laughed softly her dark red hair falling over her shoulder.

Craban was out on at this late hour.He was traveling to his next new home for the week.He was use to moving around like this since he did look like a creep and all. Most saw him and thought he was up to no good right away and they would try everything to get them out of town.
He was walking by a graveyard at night, to most he looked like a black shadow when he was in the dark.He could make out what seemed to be a person in the graveyard but he did not think anything of it.After all the last thing he wanted to do was cause more trouble. He kept looking over at the person as he walked. He kept doing this cause he wasn't to sure if they would come after him or if they where some crazy killer, who would try and kill him.You could never know these days.

The sounds of the coming night was interupted by the sound of soft hoof fall. Vera's dark read ear turned towards the sounds and she felt her heart beat quicken. Surely these sounds belonged to someone real but when she shifted to turn and look at where the sound was coming from. But all she could see was shifting darkness and every now and then a flash of white would catch her eyes. Surely this could not be a ghost could it? She had never seen one before but that did not mean it was not possible for one to be real.
And just as when she was starting to think that these hoof falls belong to a ghost the fading sun cause a golden cross and glinted. She smiled a bit and sat up more her eyes now catching the shape of a large male. She wondered if he might be trouble. A young mare alone at night did not stand much of a change did she? Vera could just hear her sister scolding her. But she gave a nod, if his intentions were bad then she would at least let him know that she knew he was there. She called out in a voice that was even and calm. I bit more than she felt, "Good evening. It is a lovely night."

Craban was token by surprise when the other spoke."Hello.Yes it is."He stop and turned to where the voice came from."Isn't a bit late to be out?"He knew he was out late as well but he was traveling so it was a bit different then siting in a graveyard at night."Shouldn't a lady be inside where it is warm?"He had a point there.

Silvers eyes shined int the rising moonlight and a soft smile came to her lips as she heard the strong voice. It was best to smile rather than show a bit of fear. So with her smile she allowed a soft laugh, "Oh is that a lady's place? Sadly I don't really have a warm place to stay tonight. But trust me if you felt of my skin you would not feel the chill of the evening on it." she said softly.
She started to get up from the ground she had been sitting on and patted her backside to get the dirt off of it. "It is a bit late I guess...I got distracted by my friends here. I had never seen this graveyard before. It made me stop to wonder what it would be like to travel as a family and to loose so many at once." She turned a bit to motion to the grave, her body silhouetted by the rising moon. She did have a nice little form.

Craban slowly walked over to her and smiled softly."Well then I'm sorry. As i tow am out in the cold tonight as i travel to the next place to call my home for awhile....If you wish i could make you a fire?"He was truly a nice man.He listened to her words and looked at the graves."They might have subcomed to Sickness or the cold....or maybe even both. These parts can become very cold after all."

Vera found she liked his gentle small smile. "Oh really now? Right here or do you have another place in mind?" she asked softly and nods, "Yes I am sure that is how they went. The young one in the back most likely sickness first." She smiles softly her silver eyes trying to keep track of him though his pattern made it hard to keep track of him in the dark. "I guess we should not waist the evening talking about them. Most people don't like to talk about death and it is too nice a night to waste."

Craban looks a head and sees a cliff side."Well up ahead there is a cliff and that means there is a good chance that there is a cave.A Cave means more warmth."He had a very good point there."Death is part of life and your right.Come lets find so where to sit and talk for the night."

Vera could just hear her sister gasping and lecturing her for staying the night with a random male. But she gives a nod, "Sounds like a plan sir. It would be nice to share a night with someone." She motioned for him to lead the way and started to walk with him. "It does look like it might storm again tonight. I can see clouds coming it." It was true that if they looked up at the sky it was slowly getting the reddish glow of snow clouds.

Vera looked at him for a moment at the gentlemanly offer. He really was not the type of male she was used too. She wrapped and arm around the one he offered, "Sound good sir. Oh and my name is Vera by the way. You might as well know my name if we shall be staying the evening together."

As they made it to the cliff side Vera looked around for any darker stop in the cliff's face that could be a cave for them to bunk down in for the night. Her eyes caught a dark patch in the rock and she gently touched his arm, "Do you think that might work for out camp tonight?" She pointed with her other hand.
When he spoke of food she smiled, "That sounds like a great idea and if you would like to get some fire wood and those carrots, I believe I saw a cranberry bush and I a small clementine tree on our way here I can go back and pick some of those as well. We could then have some tangy with those sweet carrots. If you would like."

Vera nods, "Sure I will go and get us some food. Wail you make sure things are safe." with that said Vera headed back down the path they came from and gathered up as much clementines and cranberries as she could fit into her pockets and headed carefully back. She figured that by the time she got back there would either be a fire or Craban would be gone. He did seem to be a bit skittish. But she would find out as soon as she got back.
About halfway back a large clap of thunder made her jump and the storm hit a bit sooner that she had thought it would and before she got back to the cave she was drenched. Stepping into the cave she hoped that Craban would still be there with a warm fire. She shook off as best she could then looked up. The cave was in fact larger than she had thought it would be. Good thing cause the rain started to come down hard.
