Chokuto was a lion that could be called a lot of things. Irresponsible, goofy, loyal, mischievous, kind, brave, stubborn, clever… But the thing that really stood out about him right now was:
Stupid.
That is honestly the only thing one could use to describe a fully grown lion who thought riding a buffalo was a totally viable way to have fun. That was exactly what he was doing, though, front paws around the beast’s neck, clinging for dear life, hindquarters trying to get a grip, but mostly just bouncing around uselessly, all the while screaming. It was a little hard to tell if he was scared or having fun. Perhaps both. Probably both.
How does one even get in such a position, anyways?
Well, you see, lions can climb trees. Not as good at it as leopard, but Chokuto had decided to make the effort. So he did. Then all that was left to do was wait until the group of buffalo passed by, and one got in a good position and… well, gravity could do most of the rest. With a fully grown lion on it’s back, the beast was understandably quite concerned, and did the best thing it could think to do, and ran about, bucking like mad. The rest of the group (it was too small to be a proper herd) could only watch what unfolded, seemingly incapable of finding a way to help their comrade.
“Wuuua-a-a-aaaaaAA!!” Was the sound Chokuto made, as he finally lost his grip and was flung off of the big black creature, then hit the floor, fortunately landing on a convenient bush that managed to break his fall. “Oof!” (That was the sound he made when he landed).
The black and tan lion slowly enough raised his head and rubbed it with a paw. That had been awesome, though not as graceful an ending as he had… Oh, right. The buffalo was coming this way. Crap. He was on his feet in a flash, charging for the nearest tree, either hoping to jump up on it in time, or use it to slow down the buffalo.

The lioness was adventurous, however she probably was no where near as adventurous as the male was. That was one thing that was for sure. She liked doing thing that were different, and she as brave that was for sure, but no where near as brave as the male was. She didn't go looking for trouble, most of the time anyway.
She was relaxing around in one of her favorite spots in the den. It was shady and under a tree, a perfect spot to her. She loved it so much. It was always calm and quiet. She liked being away from the masses of other lions even if it was just for a little while. The quiet was nice... was nice anyway.
She was starting to fall asleep that was until the sound of yelling reached her ears. They perked up and her eyes snapped opened and she looked around. She was concerned, she had no idea what was going on. It was the sound of only one yelling, and it was getting closer. Not only was it getting closer but it then was followed by the sound of hooves. Before she could get up and find what it was, it found her. It actually RAN by her. A buffalo and what appeared to be a lion on his back. What was going on? She jumped to her paws and backed up some getting out of the way.
She stood and stared in the direction which they went. She had no idea of what to think about it. Not idea at all. She thought the should follow them. There might be something wrong so following them seemed like it was a good idea. She started to run as quickly as she could, flicking her tail around behind her as she did. She couldn't exactly catch up but she was trying. And she ran as fast as she could, the yelling stopped but she was still looking, following the trail that was in front of her. Suddenly she found the lion that appeared to be attached to the back of the lion on the ground. But her feet didn't stop working and before she knew it she found herself tumbling over the lion and landing on the ground herself.
This was an interesting way to meet some one.

For a second there, Chokuto was sure he was dead. Something dark slammed into hm, and it seemed all too likely to be a buffalo. For a brief, ridiculous moment he found himself thinking of how awesome and appropriate such a death was for him, engaging in his favorite brand of dangerous fun. But those thoughts were cut short when he realized that what smacked into him was relatively... well, soft. After all, lions didn't have the pointy ends that buffalo's did. Also rather light, since buffaloes were gigantic.
So as it was, he found himself on the bottom, with a dark lioness draped over him. That was pretty interesting. He furrowed his brows and began to ponder over this, when he realized that the buffalo was, in fact, still coming. "Oh, crap! On your feet, come on!" Chokuto urged the stranger, squirming slightly beneath her. They might not have time to run, but if they wanted to keep themselves from getting trampled, well...
It seemed the best thing to do was stand up and hope that two lions could discourage a very angry, but also veryseparate-from-it's-herd buffalo.

Sarabi was confused, where did the lion go? She really wasn't even that sure at all. She was trying to get an idea of where she was and slowly she started to figure it out. She was laying, on the ground and she was uncomfortable. when did this area get so bumpy? She wasn't sure but it took her a few moments to slowly start to process that it was not the ground and it was another lion, she was laying on top of another lion not the ground. Oh god she was embarrassed now! Then that was when the male said something to her.
"Huh?" She answered at first not sure of what the male was saying to her, however she processed it and twisted herself around. doing her best to pull herself up. She did and stumbled over the male pulling herself over before looking back at the male finally standing full at his side. "Whats wrong?" She asked curiously, he seemed to be in a rush. She was wondering what the male was talking about. Why was she in such a hurry, she didn't really understand. She wasn't aware of what was coming. She didn't know that he did more then just anger one buffalo but a few buffalo. Either way she was starting to think this male was a little nuts for getting himself into this situation to begin with.

Chokuto's intention, at first, was to just shoot up and perhaps run once the weight was off him. But the lioness seemed to have failed to notice the buffalo coming at them, now joined with two of its buddies. Crap. He thought quickly as he scrambled to his feet. "No time to explain. Just do what I do."
Even when they were angry, and even when they outnumbered lions, buffaloes were still preybeasts. They avoided direct contact. So to buy them some time, Chokuto whirled to face the oncoming thread, and ran a few paces ahead and roared right at them, rearing slightly and flailing his front paws in their general direction. He just hoped the lioness would actually follow his lead, because they might not be so scared if she didn't.
He couldn't really tell if she had joined him or not, but the large beasts skidded, almost stopping entirely, and one actually turned. Okay, one down. Time to get away from the other two. "Now we run." He declared, and promptly turned tail and fled, only looking back briefly to make sure the dark female was with him.

Do what he was going to do? This male was basically nuts. She kind of liked it. To her it was an adventure and she liked that more than anything else. She loved adventures that was for sure. They were fun, exciting and something that she enjoyed doing. Oh god... There were a lot of buffalo! How did he make them all angry, she didn't understand at all! How did he manage to get them all that angry, she had no idea but she knew that it was the best to follow him and find out. She followed him following his roar with her own and striking out a paw or two before turning around to follow him. She wasn't too sure if that was going to scare them like the male believed, it could do that or make them angrier. She started and saw the one turn around before turning toward the male.
"Yes, Run!" She agreed turning around quickly and starting to follow the male. She didn't want to run in front of him but she stayed close to his side. she was running as quickly as she could. She didn't want to look back, that would probably mess her up if she decided to slow down that was for sure.

They ran for a while, or it felt like a while. Really, these sorts of chases usually lasted around thirty seconds. But to a lion being chased by two gigantic horned beasts, it might as well have been an hour. Eventually, though, Chokuto realized there were no strong sounds of hoof beats, and risked a glance back. The buffaloes had turned away.
Just as soon as his mind came to that conclusion, his front legs shot out, and the black and tan lion skidded to a halt, panting. "That was awesome." He stated simply, releasing a lot of air, and shooting at grin at the lioness. then he remembered some people didn't like being dragged into his messes, so he turned a bit sheepish.
"Uh... you're okay, right? No injuries or anything?"

At first Sarabi was too extremely caught up in the running. She wasn't exactly paying attention to the time and she also wasn't paying attention to the sounds. She was extremely focused on paying attention to what was in front of her. She was trying what ever she could to keep up with the male. She didn't want to get lost or hurt and it seemed like the lion knew what he was oding at least some what knew what he was doing. She was hoping so anyway. Really hoping that he knew where he was going she was also, even though she thought it would be odd, hoping that male had done this before. Again though it would have been odd for him to have been doing this again, but on the other hand it would be nice to know because then he would have experience in this.
She was a little caught up in her thoughts, too used to following him at this point she didn't notice him slowing down or stopping for that matter. She almost had a repeat of the start of their encounter. She she managed to 'swerve' a little bit and come to a stop herself. She grinned ear to ear before turning toward the male. "Yep! I'm all good!" She laughed a little before taking a second to talk to him again. "That was... actually really fun!" She laughed.

He had to be honest, aside from those who were already his friends, Chokuto had never expected anyone to have enjoyed that. So he was pretty pleased! "Yep! All in a day." He did such stupid things ridiculously often, and it was perhaps a wonder the lion was still alive. "You should have seen the time I pissed off a rhino. That was awesome!" Fortunately the animals didn't see very well, and he managed to lose it before it caught up with him.
"What's your name, by the way? I'm Chokuto!"

A large grin grew on Sarabi's face. The lioness enjoyed adventure she actually enjoyed it a lot. Finding some one who also enjoyed adventures like this it made Sarabi pretty happy. She couldn't even get her sister to join her on adventures like this. And even other lions in the pride weren't that interested in adventures. she thought that this dislike for adventures was silly and she didn't understand it at all. It actually annoyed her that no one wanted to bother to join her. She flicked her tail out of her eyes and then started to laugh a little more. "Well I imagine that was pretty awesome!" She grinned ear to ear and then took another second.
"Well, it is very nice to meet you Chokuto!" She took another second and then introduced herself. "My name is Sarabi." She paused and then smiled at the male. "So what do you say to another one of these adventures some time soon?" She asked him cheerfully, hoping that he would agree to more adventures like this.

"It was, believe me." He said, making a content face as her remembered the event. Memories were good in the sense that they didn't kill you, but he supposed remembering things was way less exciting. Maybe he should do it again sometime. Chokuto wondered if he was still as nimble, and quickly decided that yes, refusing to believe he was somehow 'older'.
Sarabi! Ooh, that was interesting. The old queen was named Sarabi. Chokuto hadn't really met her, but she had been alive for a while in his cub years. "It's nice to meet you, Sarabi!" He nodded, then flicked an ear and looked thoughtful, as if considering an agenda. Hmmm...
"Eh, anytime, really. I do this sort of thing a lot. But the really crazy stuff is best done with company." It was both safer and more dangerous!

Sarabi looked at the male and then flicked her hair out of her eyes thinking. He was a very interesting male that was for sure she liked it. She loved being able to spend time and meet others that were like her and that she could possibly have a fun time with them. To her from time to time it was hard to find others like that. She laughed a little and then flicked her tail around a few more times. "Well then! Where can I find you if I want to go on another adventure like this?" she asked curiously, it was cool if he did these adventures and she wanted to join him with them but theonly thing was, how was she supposed to find him to go on those adventures again?

That was, indeed, a tougher question to answer. Chokuto had long dropped the idea of a frequent haunt, because he preferred to keep things fresh. And unpredictable, so no one showed up and tried to stop him. But he did honestly try to think of a way to make finding him easier for Sarabi.
"Aah... Weeell. I dunno, it isn't usually planned. I guess the best way is for us to just be friends. That way you'll probably be around when I go do things!" Seemed simple enough! He didn't mind adding another lion to his little group. "You should meet Wingu and Makali. They're like me. Er, in this aspect." He didn't want to give her the impression his friends were exactly like him.

Sarabi smiled widely at the male being friends that was a good price to pay in Sarabi's eyes. "That sounds like a good plan!" She said with a chuckle afterward, she flicked her tail around behind her and then nodded. "Well then we'll have to get together and go out and do stuff!" She said cheerfully with a laugh afterward. "For now I'm gonna head back to my side of the pride." She laughed a little with a nod. "I'll see you around!" She turned and started to trot she was really hoping that she could come back and run into him later. That would be a lot of fun to her.
