xxxxxIt was in a childish fashion, the way in which the stallion sauntered across the hills, his bright blue eyes always scanning the area for any sign of opportunity or something to amuse him. It had been over a year ago that he had finally finished growing, and all his expectations in terms of size and height had been answered. He was a tall creature, especially for a Flutter, and though his complexion was in no way delicate, continuous activity had made him lean and strong. His dark pelt, which made him appear larger than he truly was, happened to be clean and shiny as it normally was. He was, in all appearances, a friendly, gentle stallion.

xxxxxIt was warm and perfect outside, as it tended to be around this time every year. In a few months, the grass would become dry and the trees would lose their leaves, but as of yet, the ground was still soft and coated by lush grasses. At this higher altitude on the hills, the heat was not as oppressive and Finnian welcomed the soft breeze that ruffled his mane and tail. He was not all too sure what his plans were on the lovely day, but he knew that if he kept wandering, he would find someone interesting. Or so it seemed. The gentle stallion picked up his pace to a trot, his blue eyes wandering and a content smile on his face. His upbeat demeanor was enough to make even the most terrible of Soquili happy.

"Don't go little ones. You're the only company I ever seek, how am I supposed to cope with your leaving?" The quiet voice cooed at the flowers at her feet, her tone sad and longing. She and her petaled friends still had time, but the prospect of losing them to the oncoming winter was almost devastating. Her ears pressed against her head as she acknowledged the reality of what was to come. Her dark nose nuzzled at the flowers, taking in their wonderful floral scents. A smile tugged at her lips as she took in their scents and identified them and let them warm her heart. For Delilah, the petite flutter mare, flowers and plants were her closest of friends. She never strayed too far from a forest or a meadow, and heaven forbid the oncoming winter that would take it all away. Lonliness was something Delilah was accustomed to, but it was still hard for her to come to terms with goodbyes, even with her beloved flowers.

Delilah wasn't the most social of creatures, clearly by who she kept company with. A run in with a Kalona in a dark forest and abandonment by the unicorn her heart yearned for, however, were two very bad occassions for her weak heart. Delilah softly fluttered her wings as she gazed at the patch of brightly and differently hued flowers. She began to walk carefully around the patch, ignorant to her surroundings. No one typically bothered her here, and if anyone did pass by, she was unfortunately too socially awkward to move past anything but a simple hello.

xxxxxFinnian could hardly keep himself from grinning as he trotted through the lush grass and the flowers that always seemed to dot the area. His ears were perked, his blue eyes constantly searching. He was quite the oddity, but at least he was friendly and just happy to be alive. A slight breeze blew back against him, carrying with it the sort murmurs of a mare. 'Someone else is out here!' The stallion smiled happily and paused, trying to pick out which direction it came from. It appeared as though it was from the flower patch he frequently passed. He reared slightly and took off toward her voice in an even canter, his wings shaking in excitement by his sides. It was only a moment before he spotter her - a black mare with brown tints and beautiful butterfly wings. Immediately, he decided that her company was something he would enjoy.

xxxxxHe slowed to a trot, nickering slightly to alert her of his presence before stopping altogether a few feet away from her. He was not one to invade space or overstep his boundaries - he was far too polite for anything of that sort. "Hello, miss! It's a lovely day, is it not?" Finnian cocked his head and tipped it down to sniff at the flowers. Their scent was almost intoxicating - it was definitely something he adored. "My name is Finnian! But everyone calls me Finn. What do you go by?" He bashfully stared at her hooves, trying not to overstep his presence. He was often a tad overbearing for some with his friendly nature and sweet disposition.

At the sound of hooves Delilah froze. Someone was here? Her head snapped up in the direction of the hoovesteps, already to find herself looking at a dark stallion with beautiful transparent wings that mirrored the colors on his pelt. Her eyes were wide as she stared, no look of animosity at the stranger but worry. Her brows furrowed together as he stopped, and at the sound of his voice her heart skipped a beat. 'He's talking to me?' The thought flittered across her mind, and without thought she took a step back. He did not seem malignant, if anything, he seemed completely pleasant and friendly. but "seeming" did her no good in the past and---

He was sniffing her flowers.

Almost immediatly her guard went down, and a smile crept across her dark lips. Her stare lessened, and she took a step forward and returned the favor by staring down at his hooves. "Do you like flowers, Finn? I find them incedibly comforting to be around." She took a second to glance around at the patch surrounding them, her heart warmed by their presence and their affect on her, "Finn..." She rolled the name off her tongue, trying it, "My name is Delilah."

xxxxxFinnian could not keep himself from grinning. It was such a joy to meet someone so lovely! He had wandered across some very odd Soquili in his life. And by odd, he meant unfriendly and downright negative. This mare seemed to be quite the opposite! Her wings distracted him from looking at her eyes, but he found himself being at ease. Her guard almost visibly dropped when a smile creeped across her face, filling him with happiness. He hadn't been around someone so lovely in quite a while. "I love flowers! They are beautiful." He cracked a smile and bowed his head as she spoke her name - a soft sign of courtesy.

xxxxx"You have a lovely name, Delilah." Finnian fluttered his wings a bit, his eyes alight with joy. The scent of flowers was everywhere. Nothing was so intoxicating. He brought his head up to look her in the eyes. Her eyes were much prettier than his dull blue ones. He cocked his head and whipped his tail in a playful manner. "Would you like to go on a walk with me? All the flowers around here are just too beautiful not to see." He hoped she wouldn't think of him being too forward. He wanted to get to know her and he often conversed best while his mind was busy.

It was not everyday Delilah met someone who was genuinely kind. Then again, her seclusion to this field was a pretty good indicator of that. However, she was sure it was not everyday she would find someone with the (nearly) same appreciate for plant life as she did, and for that she was very thankful for the stranger's presence.

"O-oh, thank you, Finn." She swallowed at the compliment, not used to them, and turned back to her flowers.

At the mention of a walk to see the flowers, Delilah tried to hold back her widening smile. A giggle escaped her lips and she nodded, "Of course! These flowers don't get many visitors... I think I'm the only one that visits them daily." She smiled down at the patch she had been enjoying herself in, leaning down to gently nuzzle the yellow tulips that stood tall above the others.

"So what brings you through here?" She turned her attention back to him as she started to move along the edge of the flowers, "Are you headed somewhere? To meet with family?"

xxxxxUpon looking at Delilah, Finn could tell that she was somewhat like him. She was secluded, though probably much more than he was. He did enjoy the company of others. And though he sought it out, he was oftentimes shut down by those he wished to accompany. Though his thoughts were negative, the stallion didn't even find himself frowning. He was far too happy to handle negative emotions. "I don't visit them every day, but whenever I can I will come out here for a while. It is just so beautiful with the flowers!" His tail swished, his legs itching to pick up a trot. He had been told that it was rude to speed about with others in your company and, though it was difficult, he managed to hold himself back.

xxxxx"Nature is just beautiful! I had to come through here to see the flowers and soak up the warm day." Her next question have him reason to pause, though. He didn't know where he was headed, nor did he have family. Finnian looked at her, eyes alight, and cocked his head thoughtfully. "Right now, I am headed out on a walk with a beautiful lady! I don't have any family. Not that I know of, at least." That was true. Finn probably did have family. Just none that he would ever meet. "What about you? Do you often spend time with family?" He hoped that was not too forward, but then again, that was him. Forward and honest. "Your wings are quite stunning," he stated suddenly. They were absolutely mind-blowing! He was not used to seeing such beauty in other Soquili. Again, he hardly realized that he probably appeared to be a bit more odd than he actually was.
