Chase had revisited this spot more time than he could count. He travelled across the pavement she had nearly crashed into multiple times as a civilian. Often he would go out of his way to cross the battlefield that he had achieved his hollow victory from. Every time he powered up for a patrol his path would end with the rooftop he had thrown the senshi from.
It was as though he was waiting for her to return to the scene of his crime. After all, the criminal always seemed to so why wouldn't the "hero" do the same? There wasn't a doubt in his mind that the eternal would come for him. He should have made sure he had ended things. He should have followed through and kill her, and the chibi who interfered. But the whole night felt wrong, tainted.
Captain Labryinthite stood, poised at the edge of the same rooftop he had thrown Sailor Iris. He seemed to teeter, arms splayed slightly behind him as though he was awaiting redemption.

It had taken a while for her arm to heal up to the point of personal satisfaction. Her muscles hadn't atrophied to the point of useless after wearing that ridiculous cast. It still had taken a bit of time to strengthen it up to being useful in a fight again.
She honestly had no intention of patrolling this evening. She was by herself, and as was per the rules of her team, she needed someone else to be with her in order to patrol. The blonde tomboy merely just wanted to round the spot where everything had started. The slab of concrete where she had nearly died.
Not many ever received the second chance she had, and she was going to make everything count.
By the time she made her way there, she could see that someone else had beat her to the spot. Rather than foolishly slip out into view, she backed off slightly to henshin up. When she finished, the first thing she did was send a mass text to the rest of her teammates.
Found one Negaverse agent. Anybody nearby, please come as back up.
Hygiea might have made a face because she no longer had a reason to smack Iris along the head. However, the team captain was going to try to follow those rules she made to the best of her ability. She walked forward with a ribbon looped about her waist with a strange crystalline object at her side.
Stepping forward, the Eternal senshi called out to the Negaverse Captain "...this must be yer trophy spot, eh?"

Chase was paying little attention to his surroundings outside of the skyline. His head was tilted back and his amber eyes were focused upon the darkening sky, if he had been paying more attention he would have seen the civilian before she powered up. As it were, he felt the eternal senshi before he saw her. His first reaction was to summon his weapon, his second to look down as his hand tightened and loosed it's grip on the pink handle.
If she could see his face, actually see the expression drawled across his features she might have registered a ting of sadness, regret and even weariness. As it were, he was thankful she couldn't see any of it. He crouched, his empty hand holding the edge of the building as if that would help maintain his balance.
"I was wondering when you would come back around," he replied, his voice quiet. "You recovered quicker than I imagined," he told her, tone bitter as his eyes narrowed. His face was shadowed heavily from the few streetlights that littered the street. "It's a shame."
He watched her for a moment, curious to see if she would try to meet him at the top of the building or if she would wait for him to come to her. Either way, he was convinced that this was a sign that he needed to finish what he had started. Half-finished jobs were sloppy jobs and he hated a sloppy job.

A smirk managed to find its way to her lips as the Captain replied back to her vague taunt. Had he really been hanging about this area after she had been put out of commission? That in itself was intriguing to her.
Rather than stick her fists up in the air, balled up and ready to punch the flamingo toting Captain in the face, the tall blonde made her way to the edge of the building opposite of him so she could still keep her eye on him. "Ya know... ya almost make it sound like ya missed me, Pinky," she casually stated as she crossed her arms and leaned back. She kicked up one leg to hold herself up slightly.
"I woulda thought ya would have realized ya can't keep someone like me down fer too long, dude." Much like how he was watching her, the girl was watching him carefully. Who could blame her in all honesty. After the backhanded stunt he had pulled, it only made sense she'd be watching him like an eagle.
"...so... got a question fer ya. Care t'humor me?"

"They've always claimed that the criminal will return to the scene of the crime but it's true for what they deem the "hero" too isn't it. I mean," he paused, a harsh bark of laughter leaving his mouth. "After all, I'm your villain," he shook his head, eyes narrowing as he spoke. "Or one of your villains at the very least." He stopped talking and slowly stood, first rising to his feet his body bent over before slowly straightening his back.
He slammed the end of his scythe into the concrete roof, the metal clanging loudly on impact. His left hand rested upon the top of his weapon, just above the blade, having slid up as he stood. "I should have never let you rise to your feet again," he snarled rocking from his heels to the balls of his feet precariously. Even as he spoke he knew that if time repeated himself and he could shove her from the roof again, he would. If he was given the chance to follow through and end her life, he would hesitate as he did previously.
No matter how many times he replayed the scene in his mind it all ended the same, he would turn on his heel and leave the senshi lying there. Alive. He never forgot how she sounded when she had screamed, he imagined that it would always haunt him. He was prepared to snarl at her again, to spit out something witty in response or to taunt her. Instead he let her talk, her voice made him sick.
This whole area made him sick, yet he continued to return.
"Fine, what's the question?" He barked irritation blossoming across his face.

"Ya talk a lot."
It was a simple observation she had when it took him as long as it had to give her a simple "yes" to her request. Prattling on about who was the hero and who was the villain when she already knew who was what. She still maintained that casual posture of hers against the wall, still watching him cautiously. The blonde didn't even flinch as the captain used his weapon in a near-taunting manner.
Finally being given the chance to speak, the girl then asked her rather blunt question. "Do ya always fight dirty?" Her body shifted slightly at her current place, making the already tall senshi just a bit taller. Her question was loaded, and now all she waited for was a response before making her judgment.

"There is no such thing as fighting dirty when you are in the middle of a war," he replied solemnly, his weapon sliding out of his hand and downward until he had to catch it by the blade. Red began to stain his hand. His features didn't even twitch as he stepped forward, teetering on the tip of the rooftop again. "Death has no rules," he mumbled hoisting the scythe in the air before wrapping his hand around the middle of the staff.
Labyrinthite had never been much of a fan of fighting dirty, but at the same time he had no shame in doing so. He once had the habit of saying, "I'll win no matter what." He often did whatever he found necessary to win, he liked being a winner. He was ambitious, he wanted to be on top and he wanted to remain on top.
"I wouldn't say investigating a target, studying and learning all that you can is fighting dirty. Isn't that point of battles, of wars? To find and exploit the enemy's weakness?" He asked staring down. He was growing tired of talking, it never seemed to make a difference anymore. "Because that is merely what I did."
And then he descended, the battle had begun.

He wasn't close enough for her to see every detail in his movements. She couldn't see the pointless gesture of him injuring his own hand, and she couldn't see the look in his eye as he seemed to leer at her. However, his words only verified what the tomboy had suspected from the beginning.
He was a coward.
Only a coward relied on cheap tricks to win a fight that should have been won with pure skill. There were some things that would always stick in her mind as right and wrong. What this boy had done was definitely a wrong in her mind, and no matter how he justified it, he was still always going to be wrong in her mind. Some might have called it sour grapes, but even as a regular girl, she had never minded getting her a** handed to her as long as the fight was fair.
The moment he had leaped off the building to pounce, the blonde was easily able to dodge out of the way, abandoning the wall she had been lounging at to make her way further down the alley.
"...well... if ya plan t'win no matter what... then I better stop holdin' back..."
The senshi landed upon the slim heel of her boot in what seemed like a blur. Yet when the movement seemed to stop, something seemed quite different. The fuku's skirt had grown out until it had touched the ground, and her hair had grown out until it was touching the ground. At her back were two pale wings, stretched out wide, as if trying to display them like a peacock's tail. The girl straightened herself up, smoothing out the gown she wore with one simple gesture.
Though the girl smiled at her opponent in a nearly serene manner, the energy she was giving seemed to have exploded into something monstrous. "I want you to give this everything you have," the newest princess in Destiny City instructed calmly.

He had never been one to truly care about what others thought of him, he was cocky and full of himself more often that not. There wasn't enough room by his ego to give a damn about what others thought but if he had known that Iris thought him to be a coward...well it probably would have ruffled his feathers a bit. He was many things; a liar, a cheat, a schemer and an all around "bad" kid but he never considered himself a coward.
He didn't think a coward would return to the scene of his victory just to replay the whole scenario again. He had returned for his redemption, whether it be in victory or a well earned defeat.
He expected her to dodge and didn't even try to put a lot of force in the pitiful attack. Instead he focused more on the landing aspect of it. His landing was far more graceful than his attempt in the rift to follow after the corrupted senshi turned ascendent general.
Surprise, mixed with awe blossomed across his features as the eternal changed. The thing that caught him off guard the most were the wings. A look of oh s**t overtook his surprise as he stumbled backward. Then the ******** did Iris become a ******** senshi princess?! The strength of her power nearly choked the captain. He had never felt anything like this from a senshi, not this close. Not this personally. He had only ever truly felt a difference of power this close when he had been standing in front of the youma queen.
His first instinct was to turn tail and flee, to teleport away from the princess. He was likely to get his a** handed to him but he had come for a reason and he would only be proving Iris correct. He was no coward.
"I had every intention," he responded darting forward. His hand slid down to the end of the scythe as he swung out thankful for the added extension.

The blonde easily saw the expressions of terror that claimed her opponent's face. Perhaps as an Eternal Senshi, she would have gloated about such a thing. Yet now, in this form, she still seemed a bit more calm than either one of them would be used to. She just had a nearly gentle smile upon her lips as the boy rushed forward to take her on.
The new princess had no intention of summoning forth the Iridian Crystal, but that did not mean she was unable to fight. To her side she tightened one hand which began to glow immediately before her favorite attack grew from between her fingers. With a subtle call of "Iris Rainbow Slicer," she snapped her wrist, aiming to take claim of his weapon with the colored light. Even if she managed to catch it, the motion of his swing could have still caused some damage. With what almost seemed like no effort, the blonde stepped back, just enough to avoid the blade causing damage to the dress she wore.
"You know..." There was a playful tone to the blonde's words as she spoke, despite how she enunciated the words clearer than usual. "...I should be thanking you, Captain." There was an odd sound of sincerity to her voice, something that the Negaverse Agent probably did not want to hear from his current opponent.
"...Tell me... what is your name, so I know who I am thanking."

He hated the way she was speaking to him, there was a sense of elegance that radiated off of the princess that infuriated him. Iris had never been one for elegance, not in any of his encounters and to watch her be such filled him with anger. He stumbled forward as she easily dodged him, grabbing his weapon with both hands and yanking it back to keep her from wrenching it from his grasp. It was a move she had used in their last battle and he thought to vanish it as before but knew that his odds without the scythe were even slimmer than his current odds.
"Stop taunting me!" He snarled spinning on his heel and kicking out in what resembled a spinning heel kick.
His breathing began to become labored, sweat trickling down the sides of his face. His body was weary and he could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he moved to follow up with jabbing the base of weapon into her gut. "I don't what you're talking about but you should stop."

"You're struggling."
Certainly, he had managed to keep his weapon at hand. Yet the princess still had a rainbow at her own. When his foot lashed out to kick her, she all too easily dodged to the side this time, perhaps a small touch of his heel managing to touch the very edge of the feathery wings upon her back. In her own defense, she snapped her wrist up so the rainbow once more followed the movement. It seemed this time it was aiming to snag her opponent by the leg.
"You probably won't want to struggle... or you might lose an appendage."
Rather than dodge the blunt end of the scythe, the blonde allow it to connect with her stomach. She took advantage of the proximity of the weapon though. Her free hand soon enough was wrapped about the handle. She didn't try to yank it away. At least, not yet.
"...I suppose you will be difficult and refuse to tell me your name." She sighed, her golden eyes looking into the nearly matching pair of her opponent. "If it hadn't been for that night... if it had not been for your actions... I would have never figured out what is truly important. So, I thank you."

"You're struggling."
Her words mocked him, reminded him of all the things he wasn't doing right. It reminded him that he had come far but not far enough, that he still had so much work to do. He grit his teeth together, struggling to prevent himself from barking some stupid retort back at the blond. The rainbow snagged his leg leaving him in an uncomfortable, and incredibly vulnerable, position where he was twisted awkwardly struggling to keep his balance.
He tightened his grip on his weapon using it to hold himself up. He had a feeling she would soon try to take it from him and he thought to vanish it but couldn't, it was the only support he had. "Why do you even care?" He asked glaring at the senshi. "Names are unimportant," he grumbled, mind racing as he tried to figure out what to do next. Any attack could leave him seriously injured in the way she had him captured.
He cursed himself for letting himself fall into such a trap. He hated his inability to think his way out of this predicament.

Where as the look she was receiving from the boy was quite intense and saturated with hatred, her own eyes didn't seem to have the same sort of emotion to them. At one point, she probably would have succumbed to the hatred, but she had already told him her sentiments. Despite the seemingly easy smile upon her lips, there was a hint of sympathy hiding in the depths of her golden eyes, which were locked with the Negaverse agent's.
"...if names are so unimportant, then why do you refuse to give me yours?"
Her wings twitched behind her as she kept that smile upon her face. "It only makes me think you are trying to protect your identity so that the others in the Negaverse don't figure out how you helped me out."
Rather suddenly, the girl lifted her glowing fist up high, then in a quick motion jerked down, causing the rainbow latched to the boy to do the same. She didn't do a single thing with the weapon she was now sharing with the Captain in front of her.

"I have nothing to hide," he claimed. He still didn't understand what she was talking about. "If I helped you achieve this then it only means," he paused as if to be dramatic, "I must fix my mistake of allowing you to live." He meant every word he said and although he knew he was likely going to lose this battle.. This revelation only fueled his desire to continue his persuit for revenge against the rainbow princess.
He cared very little if she thought him to be reason she managed to achieve the status of a princess, or if anyone blamed him for such. He sought his victory against her and achieved it. She had been the catalyst that had sent him into the open arms of the negaverse.
He hated her and yet at the same time secretly thanked her for being a pain in his a**. If she rise against the damage he had inflicted upon him then he felt as though he would be able to do the same.
"You refused to share your name with me so why would I offer what you had denied me?" He hissed as she pulled, his leg giving out beneath him. His body crashed into the pavement, his free leg kicking up in the air wildly hoping to make contact as he fell. His grip on the scythe loosing slowly before it was banished into the subspace.
He grunted as hit the ground, the air knocked from his lungs.
