BASIC TRAINING

This is the outline for Basic Training. In order to begin training, or even to join any of the military forces, you must first pass Military Basic Training. Essentially, the training will test your fundamental abilities to roleplay, write, and basic comprehension of the world, how it works, and military activities. As of now, I am your instructor, although in the future you may have the option of choosing or having a different instructor. This training will incorporate both methods of teaching and testing. If you fail your final roleplay, you may undergo more training, and if you pass, may be accepted. You may undergo training as many times as you need until you pass, or until my nerves cannot take your roleplaying anymore. This will determine your passing or failing of achieving the beginning level status in which ever Branch you prefer or wish to join.

You may also submit a roleplay sample to join; it is recommended that you save your initial roleplay sample for joining the guild. Since this is more or less just a basic gauge of your roleplaying ability, anything will do.

REASON FOR SINGULAR TESTING AREA: In order to make things simpler, all new recruits will be appointed to the Registration area in order to complete their basic applications and receive Basic Training. To make Branch changes, organization, and equality an easy and readily made accessory to the United Gaian Military Forces, a single explication for testing will be presented. This is to filter all the applicants and place their applications in one area, and as well serves to establish the base foundation for all recruits.

Also, when engaging in out of character typing, or "OOC" typing, please designate this by surrounding your messages in brackets, such as (( )), ( ), [ ], { }, or whichever to your choice.

When Roleplaying, post this at the top of each post-
[b]Roleplay Name
Branch- Unit
Location

Arrival

Your beginning roleplay will be pretty simplistic. It will truly test your fundamental skill at roleplaying, especially something boring. You will essentially be roleplaying as a new recruit arriving on a bus. Roleplay first the driving of the bus and then the arrival. Do as little to puppet the drill instructor as you can. You may roleplay that the bus has arrived, but you may not roleplay any factors on the external of the bus, including it's whereabouts or it's drop-off location. If any of these things are broken, they will be expected to be fixed, and your post reposted in it's fixed state. If not fixed properly, or at all, then you will be asked to repost it again. If you are not familiar with roleplaying, I ask you please read the AMP and guide to character creation. For a general synopsis, roleplay your thoughts, and basic ideas of the situation at hand. Be creative, but do not be overzealous. Also, please try to use correct grammar and spelling skills to the best of your ability. The extent of the roleplay can involve getting on the bus, arriving at the place, getting off, and then getting in line with a bunch of people to be yelled at by the drill instructor.

You will be expected to respond to my posts, and to issue your best ability in order to join.

As a Note, the AMP (Version: 2) is a general outline for certain specific recommended roleplay rules. Despite being made a long time ago, the AMP still carries a large amount of influence of roleplay in general, and serves somewhat as a guide for certain kind of actions that should be avoided. Remember, even if you understand and follow the AMP correctly, always try to be as detailed and literate as possible, even if this involves detailing the most minute or mundane of actions. Your writing a story and essentially trying to paint a picture; the more brushstrokes you use, the easier it will be to paint a good picture.

Manoka
Infantry- Recruit
Bus Stop; Drill Training
Arrival

Manoka arrived at the Drill instructing location, the middle of a track field, occupied by exercising soldiers, and the assumed Drill instructor standing at attention some ways away from the track. Look out the window, the grass field fluttered briefly in the wind, the warm, dry air sucking out his strength, and with not but a few moments on the official army training sight, he was already tried, the heat already distracting him from his situation. Moving listlessly, head down, one of only 3 members on the bus, he look around quietly and proceed off the ramp on the bus, heading down to the grass below.

Glancing at the drill instructor, he noticed he was coming to their position, presumably to greet the new recruits. Looking down at them, with the characteristic smoky the bear hat, he said with a grin.

"How are you today?" and stuck his hand out to shake each new recruit.

"My life is like... sand, casually slipping through my hands, the never ending rush of fluid defying the promise of solidity, leaving faster, which each time I grasp, desperately to cling on to what little sand I have left. That is my life; an ending, spiraling descent of fluid, like an ever flowing stream of sand, slipping casually from my hand."

"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... ummm.... ok.... kay... well, why don't you go over there and practice some drills? The first one you'll learn to do is the push-up; get down, with your hands parallel to each other, and your back flat, and try to do one."

Manoka nodded, and decided to go ahead and do what the Drill instructor said, moving over to a random patch of grass and getting into the push-up positions, arms spread, head up, and his back flat, perpendicular to the air.
