WE ARE HALLOWEEN Sun Hunter SHADOW RUN General Information The Shadow Run is both the simplest and most dangerous training course that can be run without a golem. A flurry of continuous attacks is what the Sun Division holds in highest respect, and the course reflects that. The course itself is a simple tunnel, reached via portal. Within the tunnel await hundreds of weak, hungry shadowlings. Nothing to worry about on their own, but capable of overwhelming a Hunter through sheer numbers at the first moment of weakness. At the other end of the tunnel is another portal, leading back to the course observation booth.
If you fail: your character is KO'd, but there's always a senior hunter in the observation booth with enhanced bandages at the ready. They should reach you in time. Really. Trained and trusty professionals on-hand 24/7.
If you win: peen points and bragging rights to those who take out the greatest number of shadowlings and go the most turns without needing to attempt a recovery maneuver.
Mechanics You must get through 5 waves of attacks to make it through the tunnel. Simply roll for attack as you would in battle. If you miss, your character falters in their attacking and is overwhelmed by shadowlings. After 3 successful hits, you may use your weapon's charge attack.
Bonus Mechanics This bonus is consumable. The bonus in this course is in the form of "recoveries" ~ these are would-be missed attacks that are quickly recovered and turned into a successful hit. Basically, they can miss once and roll again for an extra try. If you keep consecutively missing, though, and run out of recoveries, it's lights out. These do not equal an automatic pass for a round, you still have to land a successful hit to proceed.

He was the one name Marcus Moon Trainee Hasan, and he was going to cut down swarms of shadows this morning. At least that was what he hoped would be happening soon enough. It had been ages since he'd tried the sun hunter course, and it was about time for him to get back into shape. Not to mention prove to himself that he was worth his coat, that he had earned his promotion. Sure, he need to go on that mission but- Damn demoted stung at his pride and on a whole. He'd been happy he got promoted. Sure it was..Julie...but still. It felt like he'd done something RIGHT for once. He'd come down early, wanting to get it done and see how far he could go, how far he could push himself. If he could push himself at all. The guys in the deck just waved him off, sending him down and signalling right before the wave started. maybe it was that pent up angst, but the shadowlings were cut back, big time. A good start, but hard to say if he'd make it to the end. Status Wave: 1Attack Dmg: 14 Total Shadowlings taken out: 14 Recoveries left: 0

The second wave was ready, and mentally, so was he. Dis was begging for some more FEAR, asking if they couldn't just do this all the time. Marcus smiled a but, thinking how stupid that would be, given their situation. He was a moon hunter, a defender, not a fighter. The thought trigger something inside of him. He'd always been fighting. Attacking. Never defending. Dis's voice was like water, whispering how that soon the shadowlings would appear. How he would be fed soon. As the wave arrived, Marcus moved on auto pilot, Dis guiding his hand. Mentally his was distant, wondering about just why he was a moon hunter if all he did was attack. Dis was purring, asking for more, yet in his way, trying to comfort his wielder, trying to assure him he was worth his coat, that he had earned his place and that attacking was okay. But the words fell on semi-deaf ears, Marcus picking what he wanted to hear rather than the whole thing. He could attack, he could beat things back but- When the hunters had gone he'd failed his division. He needed to be defended in the end. It was... shameful, humiliating, and it burned his pride. Marcus wanted to do good but- MARCUSSSS!Dis hissed in his mind, as a shadowling went after his chest. The blade bit into the creature, and marcus was lucky as the rest fell. This was- You are fine my Marcussss. Dis's voice was soothing oddly enough, not annoying like usual. We are fine my Marcusss. We are fine.Status Wave: 3Attack Dmg: 9 Total Shadowlings taken out: 33 Recoveries left: 0

Dis had been a vampire. At night he would encourage Marcus to try and stay up, to admire the moonlight. He would tell the hunter lewd things in an attempt to fluster him, make him feel awkward. Dis would often mock or criticize him when he failed, chiding when Marcus lost his focus, when he lost himself to anger and rage. Now, loosing himself to sadness, the blade was trying to lift him back up, trying to hold him steady. As the waver began there was a small flicker of hope somewhere. Dis doubted many things. But he didn't doubt Marcus. And somehow, it made the trainee feel a bit better. There might have been a bit of bias form the scimitar, but it was nice, to know that the weapon believe in him, even if Marcus himself did not. The blade flashed blue as he lashed out, taking the few that came at him with ease. Dis purred in his thoughts, pleased at the shift in attitude. A final wave, And Dis was giddy. His Marcus. The weapon had gotten away with saying it and was now not only drunk with power, it was giddy as ******** over what it had said and Marcus had take at face value. The moon trainee was just feeling a bit perked after Dis had been encouraging for once and not his usual... self. A nice reprieve, but as soon as Marcus thought he could get used to it- Oh my Marcus, I do think after you should take a hot shower and-Nope. Marcus groaned, the weapon was back to annoying the ******** out of him. Damn vampire. Bugger him. Wait no he- Oh I knew you were into that! Maybe you should go meet that Leon fellow, so meaty and- Am not AND NO WE ARE NOT NO. NONONONONONO Marcus missed the signal that the next wave was starting soon. Dis was high as a kite on FEAR, pissing off Marcus once more. Nothing unusual. As Dis teased the shadowlings came closer and finally, the trainee snapped as Dis hit one very large button. You guys should just do it. Marcus yelled, cutting into the shadowlings, not even realizing that was just what he'd done until Dis made glee sounds in his head. Damn, he was good.
