Gate had wandered around the edges of the Pantheon for a bit after having rested up some under a tree; xe was not interested in approaching many of the persons already there - they were far cleaner than xe was, for one! But xir eyes were sharp and Gate took in a bit of the activities before finding one of the pools of water that happened to be fed by a small, clean stream to clean up some before seeking answers - where was this? Why did he feel so drawn here?
Gate used the last sliver of soap that xe had jealously hoarded for some weeks and a few scraps of cloth to bathe behind a stand of foliage. Once done the Ki'Lin dressed in one of the rumpled-but-less-dirty-than-the-others outfits and repacked xir things. Dressed, somewhat cleaner and feeling less disgusting than before, Gate began to seek those answers.

Forest was wandering again. He had too - being cooped up in the Pantheon, spacious and serene as it was, was still being enclosed by four walls. He'd spent the day yearning to be outdoors, the sun on his crown and the earth between his toes... and when his concentration had finally flagged entirely, the god had left the buildings to meander through the paths of the gardens.
In his pocket the god stone warmed and he paused, brought out of his thoughts by the sudden blaze at his thigh. They'd been given a handful of gems and told to find their hosts.... kinsmen who needed to be reborn, the gems were precious treasures but Glyph had no idea what, exactly, he'd do to arrange the meeting of gem and host, let along find the host.
It had gone into his pocket, to be carried until such a time as he felt it reacting.... so why now? The swirly, cloudy gem was beautiful and pulsed with life when held. Could it have sensed its host nearby? Potentially...
Standing up as tall as he could, Glyph's ears swung forward to catch the sound of anyone nearby while he continued in his walk, silently letting the warmth of the gem guide him.

The Ki'Lin's pink eyes half-closed as he felt a small surge tugging at xir heart; it was scarily similar to the beginning stages of a spellcasting Contract Bond but didn't go further than the start. What did that!? Gate lifted one delicate, scaled hand and put it over xir heart, expression drawing into one of slight worry as the sensation didn't pass, but grew stronger.
Clearly, whatever had 'called' to Gate was here...perhaps even getting closer!
Gate straightened again and looked around, trying to find the source of that strange sensation, the tingling of the mana growing stronger and stronger within xir chest. Pink eyes watched several mortals that didn't seem to notice that xe existed; there was also a very interesting looking person with foliage in his? hair and kind eyes, but...that person didn't feel the same as what was pulling at the Ki'Lin. Similar, yes, but not precise...and yet, the fur-eared gentleman did seem to move with that tingling magic. Gate didn't understand and felt more than vaugely uneasy, almost afraid; a voice unheard but definitely to be obeyed whispered along xir heart and mind: Come to me...

His ears flicked again, pricked and alert as a prey-animal in a forest gone silent, as the gem pulsed in his pocket, more alive then he'd felt since being charged with its keeping. Glancing down, he fished its velvet purse out of his sleeve and withdrew the pearly gem, looking at it quizzically as if he expected it to answer.
Looking up, he turned a full circle as he scanned the grounds. Biting his lip, he glanced past Gate then paused and looked back, a multi-faceted curiosity lighting up his face. Smiling but declining to wave, Forest picked a path through the shubbery that brought him closer to the stranger and he offered another smile. "Greetings, are you new to the Pantheon?" He hadn't seen the individual before and part of him wondered if he wasn't of a species related to Mal's people... "I am Glyph." He sketched a bow, still holding the gem in one hand, though it fairly pulsed with life - such a reaction left him almost certain the host had walked right into the Pantheon, drawn no doubt, as his own Host had been.

Gate bowed xir head to Glyph upon introduction, golden curls falling forward to frame a petite face. Xe had seen this Glyph coming forward, smiling in a non-threatening, friendly-seeming manner...and had also seen him take something from a velvety packet. A pearlescent orb that seemed to gleam at the Ki'Lin in a most becoming manner. That was the source of xir need to be in this place, the dreams and swimming of xir head, clearly - but why?
"Yes, I am newly come to this place." Gate's voice seemed to be slightly melodic, each syllable and line spoken in a softly sweet measure; pulsing just a bit as the gem appeared to. Inside the gem, the pearlescent colors whorled and danced, the magic withing all but singing it's ownership of the delicate creature standing before Forest. The Ki'Lin's vibrant pink eyes took in Glyph quickly in order to linger over the gem in his hand; xe could not help xirself! The gem - the goddess inside - was demanding xir full attention; it was a credit to Gate's strength of will and sense of propriety that xe continued to try and meet Glyph's violet gaze.
"I am Gate."

Forest's expression remained curious as Gate introduced itself thought it could barely pull xir gaze away from the stone. Tilting his head, Glyph nodded, "I'm not surprised. You look like you need some water and food, would you accept my hospitality? I think we need to talk."
Shifting and gesturing with one hand, Forest indicated a nearby tea house, "Do you believe in Gods, Gate?"

"Oh!" Gate pulled xir attention from the gem with difficulty to address the kind person offering hospitality. Glyph. Not a normal person, but a kind one definitely; the tingling sensation that signaled a creature - a being - flush with magical ability was definitely present in the fur-eared gentleman with the living-plants in his hair. "Thank you, Glyph...I would be most appreciative to take you up on your generous offer."
As ominous-sounding as the final bit about talking was, Gate felt fairly safe and was quite nonplussed as they made their way over to the indicated tea house - a tea house in the middle of a grassy expanse!? What wonderous magic wrought this? - and it wasn't until Glyph asked if Xi believed in Gods. Not God or gods, but Gods. Very interesting to the Ki'Lin and a question easily answered in truth.
"Indeed I believe. It is only suiting that there are Gods, how else would I Be?" Xe mused softly, but then respoke as though the first reply was inadequate or just not correct. "Yes, Glyph. I believe...is there purpose to this question that will clarify my being drawn here?"

He'd pocketed the gem, smiling to himself at the pulse of impatience and want throbbing within the stone, and sat down once they reached the tea house. Crossing one leg over the other, he regarded the other with mild curiosity as he answered.
And answered well, apparently, for Glyph seemed pleased by that response. "There is, indeed. That you Believe makes all of this that much straightforward." He sat back, trying to remain casual as he spoke, an open and welcoming expression in his features, "Something has called you here, to where the Gods dwell. This is our home, Gate, where we're growing and recovering from a long absence."
He drew the stone out of his pocket once more and placed it on the low table before Gate, front and center and watched him for a moment before continuing, "I am the Silvim Illustirre and I am Forest. My appearance might surprise you," he smiled wryly at that, as if he'd encountered skeptical responses several times, "but, like my kin, I am recovering. Even more surprising, perhaps, is that this gem is also a god or goddess." He gestured at the stone.
"When I say recover, I mean that we are beginning anew... and each gem is our seed. We call mortals to us, to give us life and hope again." Here he grew serious for this was no light matter, "And I think this gem has been calling you in particular. You can barely keep your gaze from it, that pull you feel so strongly likely guided you here." He paused, knowing he spoke of a great many things that would likely spark a large number of questions.

Clearly the Ki'Lin had some sort of experience in proper etiquite when using an Asian-inspired teahouse, as xe removed the tattered coverings from xir feet before stepping in and settling down upon xir knees. Soft golden-blond hair fell forward and the wanderer bowed in introduction yet again to Glyph - it simply felt correct to Gate to do so.
Bright eyes focused upon Glyph with a tinge of confusion; all these things that the tree-tendriled man kept speaking of had a strange sort of tilt to them. Making "this" easier? But what precisely was this? Gate mentally admonished xirself to be calm and remain quiet - that Glyph seemed to be more than willing to explain all things in due time.
The home of the Gods? Well then, that certainly made sense as to how and why xe had been called to this place. Even as Glyph gave his full name and title - as the Ki'Lin registered all being told to xir - the gem seemed to be whispering to Gate, drawing pink eyes down over and over again despite xir best efforts. "I apologize Lord of Forest, for my inability to hold court with you properly." Gate wet xir lips and dragged xir eyes to meet the steady, violet gaze; that last comment of his had all but made the soft calling (of the gem?) a vibrant cacophony.
"I have been Called here, not for a Contract, but to offer myself as a vessel for rebirth, by this gem. If I did not hear and feel what I do, perhaps this would not make sense...but with all of my being I feel it to be True."
In which case, that beautiful, cloudy gem did not belong to Glyph, nor to xir - but xe to it.
"As this is True, Lord Forest, how may we proceed?" Here xe paused a moment, then blinked with surprise, lips curving into a bit of a surprised smile, "She calls to me, she needs me."

The calm with which the other received his torrent of information surprised Glyph and he relaxed some, glad for the acceptance he felt within the other. That was good... Glyph's experiences with gems and hosts had never been smooth, or simple and he could not help the guilt that coursed through him if someone did not know what they were getting in to. It was a choice, after all, and the mortals deserved to know first.
"It's surprisingly simple," he smiled, "To take the gem, you simply take it and it will fuse into your flesh wherever you choose. In sacrificing yourself, you'll be doing a great service to the rest of existence, Gate, but know too that in doing so you will be consumed by the goddess in the gem. I cannot say more then that because it is unique to every individual..." He trailed off, wondering at the serenity Gate conducted xirself with.
He sat forward then, trying to read the other's expression, "You're awfully calm... are you sure you're alright?"

That Gate was taking so much information - potentially distressing information - in such a flatly peaceful manner really should have been ahuge tell as to how much was wrong internally. The Ki'Lin was a very peaceful sort as a rule, but events had occured to shape hir into something more - a creature of genteel magics rendered less concerned about preservation of self than any being had reason to be. Part of this really was that Gate was okay with exchanging hir life towards the rebirth of a God or Goddess...and part of it was deeply connected with whatever traumas clouded the Ki'Lin's past - and Gate was not the sort to bring up such things to one that ve had just met; no matter the status of said person.
With lush lips pulled into a soft smile, Gate addressed Glyph's concerns in a low, soft tone. "I thank you for your concern, Lord Glyph, but I am truly alright. There are things in my upbringing that make this scenario not only easy to grasp, but also easy to accept on a personal level." Of course, ve was just trying to assauge the concern and worry observed coming from xir companion, but due to xir nature, the words were all part of one truth or another.
Delicate fingers reached out to touch Louhi's gem, pink eyes wetting with tears that did not spill; a moment of pure emotion, pure wont and love and acceptance too.
"Know this, Lord Glyph...I accept the Goddess within this Gem as She accepts me. It is my heart's fondest wish to give myself over..." The Ki'Lin picked up the cloudy, pearlescent gem, pressed a reverent kiss to it and then brought the gem to xir chest, just over xir heart; the curly-haired creature's eyes drifted closed as xe murmured a soft chant within the Ki'Lin's language. With a soft, swirling glow, the pearly gem fused with host - Gate's cheeks flushed and xir fingertips traced the smooth bump of exposed gem where it nestled, partially within willing flesh; filling an emptiness that had long followed Gate.
It was an intensely personal, private moment...but one that Gate didn't mind sharing with the Forest God that had aided in joining hir with Louhi.
"Oh. Oh." Another soft smile, this one directed back at Glyph. "She is Louhi of Knowledge, Lord Glyph...and would thank you for helping us come together."

Glyph sat there, watching Gate in silence as he absorbed and barely reacted to the information. It worried him... and made him wonder if perhaps the turmoil was internal. Something, somewhere, must be staggered...?
He bit his lip when Gate reassured him but Forest remained skeptical, "Are you certain?"
Then Gate reached out and touched the gem and reacted with tears that he wasn't entirely sure whether they were good or bad. He hoped it was good... and that he wasn't feeding a mortal to a vicious deity like Phaedra. Another reassurance and he sighed, offering a grateful smile, "Then I thank you for your sacrifice and the courage to bear one of my kin, Gate."
It was strange to watch the process from the outside as Gate took the gem and placed it above xir heart... he remembered well the absolute need and desire that had gripped him, the feeling of freedom and promise that encompassed all his still-small being. To see a similar reaction with his own eyes made him feel like he was peeking in on something he shouldn't... and he averted his eyes despite the quiet smile.
Ears flicked when Gate spoke again and he looked up, "Knowledge? Oh! Excellent! You're welcome my lady. And to you both: I sit on the Council of the Gods. If you are in need of assistance or have a concern, please do approach me." He folded his hands in his lap, "Do you need a place to stay? I have more then enough room if you wish to be my guest until you become acclimated."

Whatever issues Gate had...well, they wouldn't matter for too much longer, would they? Once the Ki'Lin had willingly fused xirself with the gem...such things stopped mattering - perhaps there had been a small aside between Gate and Louhi, perhaps it was just a feeling given to the Ki'Lin of peace. Things would be fine, Louhi would take over and Gate would hurt no more.
With hands only slightly-unsteady, the Ki'Lin wiped at xir eyes, not wanting the dampness there - joyful in origin or not.
"Ah, thank you for the offer, Lord Glyph. Louhi is quite interested in hearing more of this Council...and of all that has happened since before our joining." Gate fussed with xir curly hair and thought about finding a place to be - a proper bath, food and a place to rest without worrying about being molested or worse.
"We are most appreciative of your offer....if it would not be too much an imposition, the Lady and myself will take you up on your generous offer of temporary shelter."

The formal way in which Gate spoke pleased Glyph in ways in he hadn't expected and his ears tilted back in an appreciative way as he nodded, "Of course. Much has transpired and while I only know that which has happened since my own fusing... it is still a great deal. But it is a long tale, however. You look like you might be in need of rest and some good food."
He looked towards the Pantheon itself, expression thoughtful as he spoke, "Is meat-less fare sufficient? I do consume meat, I'm afraid, so all that I have to offer is roots, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and mushrooms if my memory serves. And water enough to quench even Desert, I'd wager." Glyph smirked at that, linking both of his friend Lifewater and his rival Desert.
"A bath too, I think. You must be weary - we can get you settled and then discuss whatever it is you wish to know. I might not know everything but I know enough of our kin to point you in the right direction at least." He looked the other over once more, noted the ragged, haggard clothing and hodge podge of supplies. A good meal and a hot bath would do him wonders. "You're welcome to stay with me as long as you choose," the very act of sheltering someone thusly made a warm feeling blossom within Forest.

Gate nodded vir head gratefully at Glyph's suggestion that any 'story-telling' wait until some rest and recouperation was had. Louhi agreed - shrewd Goddess though she may be, she could feel the bone-deep exhaustion of her graceful host.
"That would be most welcome fare, Lord Glyph. I do not consume flesh and what you have offered is more than sufficient as a meal." Oh thank goodness...now, ve would not need to worry about the stench of bloody meat wafting out and twisting at vir guts, ruining what would be an otherwise pleasant meal. It had happened before, many different times over the years - not the most pleasant of things, but just something that had to be dealt with from time to time.
"We thank you for your generousity...a meal, a bath and perhaps some rest before you spin the tale would be most welcome." And the Ki'Lin would follow Glyph back to his rooms, settling in with gratitude. It had been a long time since Gate had been able to relax the way ve would now be able to in Glyph's chambers. Within Gate's chest, Louhi thrummed warmly; pleased with Forest's willingness to house her host...and his willingness to tell her all that she wished to know - as far as he could, rather.~Fin~
