Okay, so, every character can get +1 in a skill of their choice. Gardening, driving, firearms, explosives, melee combat, etc.
You may gain another +1 bonus for a -1 penalty. So, Dema could take +1 to gardening, +1 to Medicine and -1 to firearms.
You may then gain more and more bonuses, but, at a progressively larger penalty. So, if you want to take a 3rd +1, you HAVE to take a -2 penalty to compensate.
So, Dema could take +2 to gardening, +1 to medicine and then have -1 to explosives and -2 to firearms.
So, here's the chart:
Bonus/penalty
1st: +1/0
2nd: +1/-1
3rd: +1/-2
4th: +1/-3
5th: +1/-4
6th: +1/-5
etc
You can stop at any time, you don't need to take the 2nd or further down. Also, bonuses and penalties CAN stack, so, the last mentioned Dema could do +3 to gardening and -3 to firearms, which is 3rd rank bonuses/penalties.
Also, I, Panthie, as DM of this zombie rp, have every right to give or take points as I see fit. Mostly it'll be giving, but occasionally it'll be a penalty for some reason, like, you shot yourself in the foot, you get -5 to anything involving that foot, cause damn, you shot your foot.
Finally:
Important actions will be done with a d10 roll. For those who may not know how to do a roll, under your post there's various options, including 'Post Options' *le gasp*. Click it, click roll dice, type 1, select 10 sided and then submit your post IN THIS THREAD.
1 - abysmal failure, detrimental to entire party
2 - miss, detrimental to self
3 - miss
4 - hit, hindrance to zombie
5 - hit, wound to zombie
6 - major wound/hindrance
7 - kill shot
8 - pretty cool-looking kill shot
9 - epic kill shot
10 - multikill or super-epic single kill
<1 = (same effect as 1)
7-10 = killshot with ascending degress of awesomeness

We'll think of what to do for other skills, like driving, but will be similar. IE, for driving:
<1 - You crash the car and you really hope you're close to a trauma hospital, cause damn, you should be dead.
1 - crash car, injure everyone
2 - stall / hit something
3 - not great driving, clip something but ok
4 - you drive fine, maybe jump a gear
5 - average driving
6 - fairly good driving at high speed
7 - Curbs? What are those? Oh, that little bump.
8 - that wasn't a speedbump, it was a zombie.
9 - Not only is there a large speedbump, but you seem to be bush bashing (clipping zombies)
10 - Man, i didn't know we were in the aussie outback. Oh, zombies, thats right. Bump, bump, bump.
