The morning hadn’t been that harsh on Mentari in terms of the weather. She was able to make the commute from the fields of Barton to the center of the city with only a light sweater being neccessary. Her father owed favor in Gaia to a man in the same industry as her family, and the head of household thought running errands for an estranged friend would be a day better spent for his ‘delicate daughter.’ Mentari bit the inside of her cheek. Delicate her tail. While she hated the condescending motion, what the local farmer hadn’t known was the favor entailed manhandling packages of produce and driving to the open market to ship them herself. It was by no means a heavy duty task, but the brunette relished in the little rebellion against ‘femininity’ her father had unknowingly sent her on.

She’d made it to the farmer’s market, unloaded the truck and now had some free time to kill in the noon sun. Indeed the weather had been kind, but the crowds, however, were another matter. The small woman didn’t expect there to be so many people in one place, but since most of everything was going out of season soon she supposed it made sense. She waved to the salesman that set up shop with what she delivered and walked away from his stall to wander amongst those caught up in their mundane tasks.

Because that’s what it all was, wasn’t it? Compared to everything that had happened only a few weeks ago, mundane was how she saw the day- the world. That place, ‘Sanctum’ was burned in her mind since the insane events that occured after she responded to her letter from Voren. A troubled frown overtook Mentari’s face and she reached into the large front pocket of her top. ‘All this trouble because I have you,’ she thought to herself, slowing her pace to stare closely at the red-orange seed between her forefingers. ‘And I still don’t completely understand why. Why me?’

Flashes of light and foreign creatures appeared in Mentari’s mind, and so she hadn’t been paying attention to her surroundings until she bumped into the side of a figure. Being distracted and only 5”2 she stumbled back in surprise, clutching the seed to her chest and out of sight. “Sorry, so sorry. I wasn’t, ah, paying attention.” A side cart wobbled when she then knocked into it trying to back up, causing a slight commotion in the already busy atmosphere. Her green eyes winced in annoyance. Really, could she at least for a moment not make a show of herself?

Another won case, Idylla thanked her client, finished off the necessary paperwork and left the courthouse in a hurry. While she liked Gaia, her life had become quite mundane since entering Sanctum. Of course, she still saw her sister and the news she’d received from Axel had made her life seem a little more interesting. Idylla was going to be an aunt, and she could not wait to meet her future niece or nephew. Too bad Axel had no idea she was also going to be an aunt, ever since she’d planted the seed given to her by Voren. The little pink and white seedling had grown into a tiny tree, and thus why now Idylla was on her way back to Sanctum as quickly as possible. She did like leaving the tree alone, with the dark queen newly returned Idylla wasn’t risking it.

Idylla was always careful, and precise while walking in the street. Not only had she been mugged once, but she’d also met some less than savoury individuals while she was in court. Of course they were trying to scare her out of trial, but it was ever anything that the police couldn’t fix with a nice restraining order. Plus, it always made her look better in court when she’d gone to the police about the associate of those who opposed her in court. This time however, she’d been so wrapped up in her thoughts of going to Sanctum that she bumped right into another woman. Thankfully, all her papers were in her leather back strapped across her shoulder.

“Sorry, wasn’t looking where I was going.” Idylla practically towered over the small woman which made her feel a little sheepish for bumping into her. At this height however, she’d seen the seedling the girl was trying to hide. Idylla couldn’t help but murmur, “Is that a seedling?” very quietly, as if the dark queen’s agents could hear her even in this world. Though his girl could be from the moon fraction! Idi hadn’t actually thought that her life in Sanctum would leak into her real life here on Gaia. This woman was the first she was meeting, of course she should have known that Patrons would be found here, she just hadn’t actually thought she’d meet one so soon.

Ready to go about her business and calm herself of embarrassment, Mentari was all set to jet out of the situation as composed- yet as quickly- as she could. It was then that the stranger uttered words so low that they should have been drowned out by the crowd around them, but were loud and clear in the ears of a patron. A look of horror overcame her face and she stared up at the taller woman, frozen in place. She had heard it for sure; the uttered word, ‘seedling.’ Did she see the seed that the Mentari was carrying? The farmer vaguely remembered that term being used by Enfaya, right before the battle against the Queen’s followers.

Her slack mouth snapped shut, lips pressing into a thin line. It was only a small group of them guided under the leadership of the tree woman. Mentari didn’t recall seeing the red-head among her peers. She tensed, clutching the seed in a harder. “How do you know that word?” She demanded, and her stance immediately was defensive. As the words rushed out of her mouth, the gears kept turning. Maybe she shouldn’t be so paranoid. She didn’t recall seeing this woman when fighting either- but so much had been going on, Mentari could have completely missed the other. More importantly; this meant there might be others like her.
