He needed to get out and do something else. It had been a while since he took Endy out somewhere where she could freely fly. It was how they bonded in a way and a lot of the times, in a way, Kettil joined his familiar in the flights. Today was not one of those days. Upon reaching a nice little wooded opening Kettil moved to sit on a soft patch of grass after he had let Endzela fly off to go wherever she pleased in the area as he just stared skyward and followed her flight.

Endzela loved when she went on flights and would often go in for long lazy swoops toward the ground and even do a little bit of hunting by picking off small rodents and bugs in the area. For the Owl this was a wonderful vacation from all the stresses she and Kettil had been going through.

At this very moment Kettil wasn't paying much mind to anything around him, his mind was elsewhere while ungloved fingertips fiddled at a blade of grass simply folding it into a chain link like shape setting it aside and doing the same to another blade of grass.

From a nearby tree, the owl was being watched by another. White hair laid over the shoulders of a certain tatzel that frequented the canopy of trees near where the reaper had chosen to sit. Levi herself kept her gaze on the wide wing span of the bird that flew, tail flickering down the length of the tree and legs crossed long-wise over the branch she sat on with her back to the trunk.

When she finally look to the boil down below, curiosity perked her interest; he seemed to be making something. Rustling in the brush of leaves, the tatzel jumped down, quietly making her way over to the back of the boil with the purple hair in what looked like really tightly wound ringlets.

At his back, she peered at the blades of grass with a smirk before watching up at the owl's flight again. She dropped down behind him on her knees, getting into a comfy seating position.

Nice hooter ya got thar!

Kettil was unaware of the figure that pretty much sat right behind him he was so intent on his task as he pulled against the bit of grass to try and get it to where he wanted it to be and then suddenly there was a voice and his body jerked and the grass tore. Kettil couldn't play off that he wasn't shocked after that he knew his body language gave him away. He flopped over onto his back and stared up at the figure that sat behind him.

"..Thank ya," he grinned up at her cheerfully, "I am sure she'll appreciate the compliment as well when she's done flyin'. Does pretty ghoul like you always sneak up on innocent boils like me while they are mindin' their own?" He asked teasingly as his head tilted from where he lay on the ground.

His reaction was priceless; had she really caused him to fumble back like that with her comment? Or was he just startled by her sudden appearance? The latter, surely, she thought. This pleased the tatzel as if she had successfully been practicing her stealth training from Invictus' class. Overlooking the face of the boil now under her own, her smile widened at his own offered grin. Don't see much 'a them 'round 'ere. Nothin' like yers anywho. Nice hearin' 'em in tha' woods hootin'away. Relaxin'

Now she recalled the face- this was the boil Lark knew from the assembly. A friend of hers? Levi's tail swished back and forth behind her, looking up at the flying owl before she recalled something. Ah- whar're ma manners. Name's Levi. Been 'round tha'campus long?

Kettil laughed a bit, "There ain't no Owl like my Endzela, if you stick around she might land and chatter with you a while," he grinned up at the figure that had given him a fright. The boil seemed at ease but then it helped that the ghoul pretty much hovering over him was a playful sort and not threatening him in any way.

"I'm Kettil," he said in return for Levi's introduction he stretched up a hand holding it up for an upside-downish handshake, "I only been here for a small while. I came to see that play and t'visit my friends but it seems more than that now," he grinned a bit.

Levi took Kettil's hand after a second of understanding how to do so from an upside-down position. Oh so ya'got friends in'ere! Yeah, reckoned didn't see ya'round these parts when I came 'on over. It'sa sure as heck big place though so who know who ya'ain't seen that been 'ere fer years. He could have been a third year student, really. Something about him seemed new, however.

Chattering with an owl sounded intriguing. They always had a smart look about them. When Kettil mentioned the owl coming down, her first thought was- Why not go up? The smile turned to a smirk. Could the boil climb any?

He gave her a fresh grin as he put his hand back down and moved to turn to face her while sitting up now. She was certainly a pretty ghoul and he could almost sense a certain amount of feisty attitude from her as well it was pretty evident by the way she surprised him a few moments ago, "Yeah? Yeah this place seems ta be pretty jam packed with bodies! A good thing if ya want to make lots of friends."

A bad thing if you are someone that didn't like hanging out with others.

At her suggestion his grin grew wider and he nodded, "Hey! Yeah Let's do that. You like climbin? I climb a lot back home but then my home is a tree so go figure that, eh?" Kettil started to get up onto his feet so that he could start looking for a nice tall tree to climb.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 07, 2012 7:21 pm

Kekeke. The phrase "jam packed with bodies" made her think of a group of undead in a closet for some reason like flyfeesh in a can. Somehow the thought doubled as delicious- but so wrong.

She tilted her head to Kettil's mentioning of his living conditions back home. OH YEAH? Ya don't say! Tatzelwurms didn't live in trees anymore, but she heard old tales from Gran about their ancestors supposedly depending on trees for homes. If it was true, and Levi liked to believe it was, then her kin and Kettil's shared a common ground, so to speak. At the very least, Levi often spent her time hanging about in tress as was typical of tatzel youngsters; you learnt to hang from your tail before you crawled.

That's a mighty fine way'a livin'! Got tha' fresh air n' sound a'trees... Ya'll live with yer folks? Following after the reaper boil, Levi stared up at one of the trees nearby them, noting the initial branches and how she'd scale through. It was a good sturdy base of branches, but Levi couldn't help but tease a bit... he was still a boil, after all. Hmm... think this one'll do?

Kettil beamed at Levi and then nodded a bit, "Ya, I live with m'family. Even my gran'ma lives with us, though I guess right now I'm livin' at the dorms, eh?" He chuckled slightly as he stared up at the tree they had found with his hands resting on his waist, "Can't say I am a fan of havin' my campin' grounds so far away from me. I don' like bein' cooped up much," he observed thoughtfully.

Despite how he and his family lived the boil preferred to camp out whenever possible. All that open air was freedom.

Rocking back on his heels, "Can climb this one in my sleep, prolly, how about you? Think yer gonna keep up?" He challenged back at her and then he grinned, "Perhaps you'd like me t'slow it down a notch so you don't get lost on the way up."

The mentioning of a Gran had the tatzel particularly interested. OOoooh. I live with'ma ran too! Ma n' Pa n' Gran... n' tha'critters, ya'know? He had an owl, but perhaps more than just that back home. Ma'Gran- she always been tellin' me stories 'a ma'kin back in'tha days 'before I was born. It was the only way she knew other sorts of dragons existed before coming to Amityville. He was a boil, but so far, he was the closest boil to nature aside from Demi that she'd met.

Yep! Know just what'cha mean! Home changin' from where yer kin're ta where ya'are. Kinda neat gavin' more than one place ta'call home, though. She paused for a moment, thinking of the times she'd gone back while being enrolled in Amityville, each time coming back more knowledgeable of herself and what she wanted from life. It was beneficial being able to see and know things she would not have if she'd stayed in her tatzel town. Dorms got ther good'points. Ain't got no argument ta'out 'ere thought. Refreshin' n' open... Levi in took a large breath through her nose, just expressing her statement.

Then her eyes widened to his challenge with a sly smirk perking. Oho, I see'how ya'll 'are, boil! So were talkin' a race, aye? Crouching with a claw to the floor, the tatzelwurm's tail worked as a spring, jolting her into the brush of leaves and onto the first rim of branches in their designated tree. 'r I can wait... >3

"Yah! That's what grans do," he grinned cheerfully at Levi, "m'home is filled with all sorta family and animals too. It is almost never quiet but I can usually retreat to my room and get a little bit of privacy." He said with a chuckle and then added, "Hardly ever lasts long though."

Kettil let out a small grunt and nodded in agreement, "Yeah! It kinda is neat but difficult. I miss my family and stuff but it's nice here too. Makin' friends and hangin' out with them." He stared at Levi for a long moment. A nature soulmate (*A*)...

"Yah! Out in open is best and wonderful," he agreed enthused.

As she took up his challenge he stared at her again before he broke into a wide grin looking even more enthused. Someone with competitive spirit! YAY! He laughed as he scrambled toward the tree his fingertips and feet seeking out holds within the bark in the absence of any safely low hanging branches , "If ya want to wait while I take the lead - it ain't no big deal t'me," he challenged back as he then started to determinedly out climb the tatzel.

Kekeke~! Oh this boil; this boil had a gift for making her chuckle, it seemed. Not unlike any good old country boil, he had his manners but an urge to take her on as well. Fairly smart-mouthed too, the ghoul thought to herself, continuing to be humored.

Fer'a fellar with them limbs, ya'll sure do climb quicker than any'ol two-legger I ever seen! The playfulness in her voice as she grabbed onto another branch above her would entail Levi had meant it as a compliment and the proof was to follow. Yew sure ya'ain't no tatzelwurm under thar? He was catching up to her as she moved rather speedily regardless of her tail being used to aid her. Clearly, the reaper boil hadn't been fibbing about his skill level when in the trees.

The top was nearly in sight when Levi began to think of her most recent tree climbing experience with a classmate. It had been quite some time since she'd seen the ghostly fox-hooded ghoul, but she'd also been known not to stay in the dorms. Levi had visited the treehouse from time to time, but it remained empty aside from the minis that resided.

Levi missed having a companion to climb with. Demi was more of a runner and West, well... his shoes and clothes were quite costly from what Levi could tell and it would be hard accepting damages to such garments. Yes, that was why she worried about being up in a tree with him; what war isle?

The tatzel ghoul stopped in her ascending to look to Kettil with a rather serious and inquisitive expression on her face. Biting her lower lip, she decided to go for it and ask. Yew ever make'a place up 'ere fer just friends? Quiet place fer just knocking cans 'round? She meant hanging out.

Kettil's fingertips gripped branches and small indentations in the bark. He seemed quite happy to be climbing even if there were the incidental scrapes against skin here and there. Sometimes a branch would snap threateningly beneath his weight, but he would simply move on to a sturdier one. As he made his way toward the top he laughed over at Levi, "Ahh~! Nope! Pretty sure t's all Muut in here," he replied, "but t's a real honor y'think so." Kettil's way of accepting the compliment paid to him.

He paused when she did, fingertips gripping at the branch as he just let himself dangle there for a moment.

"Mmm~, a ghoul I grew up with, we made little secret hangout spots all the time," he said cheerfully. The memory was a warm fuzzy one. He kicked a leg up and hooked it over a nearby branch and eventually he released the one he had a hold of. "Always wanted a small tree home of m'own though. Tried once, never got enough material together, though."

Dreads dangled upside down because of how he was currently hanging, much like a bat.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 09, 2012 12:59 pm

When ya'say yew never got 'nuff material, that's 'cause ya'll were workin'lone at tryin' ta'built it? She'd had help making the first treehouse here at Amity, but it was sure a workout day after available day to get things together secretively. If they knew they'd made something, someone was bound to give them detention. If another student found it, well, then it wouldn't really have been a secret hideaway anymore. There were various elements to consider when making a place of solitude away from home.

Been lookin' ta make one 'ere, actually. Need someone who's handy on their tree feet. The ghoul looked at Kettil from bent knees to face with a toothy grin. To mirror him, the white length of her tail twisted around the branch she held, allowing her to let go and hang up-side down in front of the Muut boil by the appendage. It wouldn't have been right to invite anyone to someone else's secret hideout, so in order to have an outdoors getaway, Levi needed someone who was just as enthusiastic about delving through the brush of the treetops as she was. Sure would take more than'a little while but can be done. Possum ghoul was swinging playfully with batMuut, piecing together something that would allow her to potentially rediscover a fun woodsy base.

"Naw, I had some help but Dad wouldn' let me use his tools and stuff, he was kinda afraid that I'd misplace them or somethin'," he laughed and shrugged. "Guess it had a lot to do with the fact that I didn't tell him where I wanted to put things t'gether."

Kettil just watched her as she moved to hang upside down with him, his arms crossed over his chest. The boil made a thoughtful sound, "I can be pretty sturdy, but that ain't all that y'would need." He replied. "Cause you'd need t'feel like you can trust me, too, ya?"

In a way he was agreeing to the idea of the project, at least he didn't seem disinterested. Quite the opposite, his dark green eyes lit up with excitement and interest aplenty.
