where: the bustle of central of Four Fronds
when: the wee hours of the morning, lunchtime!
why: stomachs be rumblin' after a FLARP session

Stomach rumbling in anticipation, thoughts of delicious meat and sweets danced in Frossa's head. Food. Food! Nothing was better than food. Not hunting, not her collections. Not even FLARPing. The highblood glanced back at her chubby tealblood friend, something clicking in her large head. She had never seen the plumper troll ever actually eat anything, ever. She gave Hazzan a sideways glance, inspecting the lowblood. Even when Frossa brought (copious amounts of) food to their sessions, Hazzan remained uninterested. Not like Frossa would ever share her precious foods or anything- she scoffed lightly to herself for entertaining the mere thought. Still, one would have expected to at least see the chubby troll eye her delicious things... She had to eat. And she obviously ate a little more than the average troll. Frossa stopped in her tracks, granting Hazzan a few steps to catch up.

A pleased smile cracked across the purpleblood's face as her companion gave her the pick of restaurants. As a lowblood should! Still, her suggestion was spot on and Frossa's stomach immediately growled as the word 'grubloaf' was spoken aloud. "YES!" Frossa's single, enthusiastic response echoed impressively thanks to her sudden burst of volume. "Grubloaf, grubloaf ~!" She sang to herself, rubbing her small hands together in anticipation.

As they neared the bottom of the flight of steps Frossa sharply turned in the direction of the lake, intentionally cutting Hazzan's path off in a halfhearted attempt to troll her. Following the tealblood's suggestion, the two young trolls headed for the lakeside bistro, famous for it's grub delicacies. "What are you planning on ordering?" Attention returning from thoughts of food, Frossa glanced at Hazzan.

What had always, always, always perplexed Hazzan about Frossa was how downright tiny the purpleblood was. She knew for a fact that Frossa ate and at constantly, and yet the regal-blooded troll remained lithe as a gymnast. It just didn't strike Hazzan as fair! How had the genetic lottery rolled in such a way that her friend was blessed not only with one of the highest blood colors on land, but also an apparent black hole in her stomach?

"Oh, just something small, I'm not that hungry," lied Hazzan. She always got something small, always picked at it while Frossa chewed her way through delicacies that sent Hazzan's mouth salivating. She wasn't 'not that hungry;' she was famished, and as soon as she got home would rip the hive apart with Koaowl looking for anything and everything tasty. But right now?

No. No one needed to see Hazzan eat. "Don't worry about me, though," she assured her friend, holding the Bistro door open so Frossa could go ahead of her. Hazzan was close enough to the smack dab middle of the hemospectrum to not give a whole lot of credence to it, but she still instinctively deferred to Frossa for personal reasons. "I don't mind. Get whatever you want. I'll be fine."

Why couldn't Frossa just leave it alone and let Hazzan have her one small measure of self control? If no one ever saw you eat, then no one could ever call you a pig on any good authority. That was Hazzan's story and she was sticking to it. She gave her friend a pained smile as they sat down at a corner table.

"Really," she said, although she suspected Frossa was unconvinced.

"Not that hungry?" Frossa's expression dead panned as she studied Hazzan's face. "Oh, is that so...?" She drawled, crossing her arms in muse. Their FLARP session had involved sprinting around a park for a couple hours, hunting down and obliterating small miscellaneous wildlife and scurrying up trees. They had been out for the better half of the 'morning'; how could she not be hungry? Leaning up towards the taller troll with her arms still intertwined, she cocked a brow up at Hazzan but remained silent and obviously unconvinced.

Dropping back down on her heels, Frossa batted her eyelashes and smiled at Hazzan before stepping through the open door. "Thank you very much, Hazzan ~" She cooed at the lower blood, waving a limp hand lazily in the air. This was why she had so few friends; Frossa's air of dominance practically demanded such benevolent treatment when it came to lower blood castes. She was too polite to ever boss anyone around for such trivial things, but it was pretty clear when she was pleased (or displeased) with a companion's behavior.

"Table for three, please." Frossa's voice was sickly sweet, putting the greenblood hostess into a slight sweat. The third seat was to accommodate her gigantic order- something she pretty much always did when eating out. Flashing a pointed grin at the hostess, she hastily grabbed Hazzan's wrist and tugged her along as the distressed greenblood led them to their seats. Frossa's face lit up as they were given a circular booth with one long, cushioned bench as their seat. The bench arched around the table in the somewhat private booth. Frossa was very okay with this. "O~oh!" She gasped, clapping her hands together in pleasure. The hostess tossed some menus on their table before scurrying off with a stiff bow. Frossa seemed too interested in their fancy table to so much as bat an eye at the greenblood, grabbing the menus immediately for herself.

Frossa slipped into the booth, bouncing around slightly on the cushions in an attempt to find a comfortable seat. "Why don't you sit?" She purred at Hazzan, patting the cushions beside her and flipping open the pink laminated menu.

Hazzan shook her head as she slid into the booth, thankful that her stomach had so far remained mute. She didn't even bother reaching for a menu - Frossa had taken both, and even if they were identical Hazzan was sure the other girl would make a point of needing two. Sitting next to Frossa and not eating anything always made her feel better about herself, even as she turned green with envy watching her friend eat.

"So what do you think we're going to find inside the castle?" she asked innocently, rearranging her flatware while she waited for Frossa to decide on what she wanted to eat. Knowing Frossa, it would take a while for her to perfect her order - Hazzan rolled her eyes at the thought, and willed the waitress to turn up and have a blood color that her friend would give some respect to.

"Do you think the prince will be handsome?" she added, tweaking her fork. Of course Hazzan already knew who the prince would be, and his handsomeness was probably up for debate, but she wanted to know what Frossa was imagining. Playing into expectations and then defying could be just as fun as holding her cards close to her chest and then revealing them at the very end. Frossa ought to know her clouder better than to expect her to be anything resembling straightforward, anyway.

Drumming her fingers impatiently on the table, Hazzan asked her friend, "Are you going to order sometime tonight? Because that would be cool." Actually, sometime this solar sweep would be impressive, considering it was Frossa.

PostPosted: Wed Jan 18, 2012 3:04 pm
Frossa scanned through both of the menus, flipping through the laminated pages in no comprehensible order. She hummed to herself as eyes darted around the many choices, kicking her toes in rhythm. So many choices! Glancing up from the menus to address Hazzan's question, she tapped her chin.

"The Prince, of course!" Was her initial thought. But wasn't that obvious? Eyes rolling up in thought, Frossa hummed once more to herself, this time in thought. "I've never encountered goblins," she mused aloud. "So I'm really not too sure." Returning her attention back to the menus, she lingered on Hazzan's question while scanning desserts."There most surely will be a boss fight!" She stated with confidence, finger trailing down the menu. "Perhaps lava..." She pondered as her eyes met some sort of oozing sweet cake on the menu that shared the name.

Frossa paused when Hazzan asked her second question, laying the open menus down. "Why, do you?" She replied curtly, giving the tealblood a less than pleasant side glance. Frossa soothed herself internally. It wasn't polite to jump to conclusions, Hazzan wasn't necessarily projecting her own thoughts of the prince into her question. Short burst of jealousy subsiding. "Or rather, I mean..." Frossa picked the menus up once more, shuffling through the pages once more. "I suppose he must be on some level; who has ever heard of an unattractive prince?" Frossa was thankful to be playing a magical girl, and not a princess in this particular FLARP. Hazzan hadn't tried anything too cheeky like that yet, but she wouldn't put it past the tealblood.

"Don't you get short with me!" Frossa blew her cheeks up in irritation. "You can't distract me and then get your panties in a bunch about it." The purpleblood simply buried her nose back into the menus, too hungry to continue to bicker.

As if on cue, a navy blooded troll popped beside their table. Straight as a board, her smile was also stiff as she served glasses of water and whipped out a notepad. "May I take your order?" Frossa nodded vigorously, eyes darting down to the menus. "Yes, please. Two orders of grubloaf, four cartilage sliders, three slices of the vanilla chittencake and two of the chocolate. Oh, and a grub burger with extra grubsauce!" Meat and sweets- the best. Vegetables were for when Hippodad was around so he wouldn't get cross with her only eating, well, meats and sweets. "Oh, and a shake." Frossa handed the blue blood the menus, turning her attention to Hazzan.

"And for you, miss?"

"And for you, miss?"

Hazzan raised her eyes slowly to meet the waitress's gaze. After everything that Frossa had ordered, surely she wouldn't bring the wrath of the gods down on her head for getting one thing. There couldn't possibly be any judgement coming when she was seated beside a girl who'd just ordered five slices of cake, right? Then again, she hadn't gotten a chance to look at the menu at all...

"Just a house salad and water," said Hazzan, withering. She was feeling a bit nauseous, to be honest, over Frossa's carnivorous order. Being raised by a vegetarian lusus hadn't made Hazzan a total herbivore, but she did like fruits and vegetables and sweets better than meat. Her hunger had subsided - just pushing some leaves around her plate seemed like all she was up for.

The waitress nodded and left to put the order in.

"There will be a prince," she confirmed, leaning across the table to nod at Frossa. "However, everything else is spoilers." Spoilers being Hazzan's favorite word of the week. Of course she wasn't going to actually tell Frossa any of her secrets - but getting pumped up for the next game was all part of the chase.

Digging the tines of her fork absently into the table, Hazzan asked, "I hope you enjoyed the Imp Market and the labyrinth." Okay, she could admit it, she was fishing for compliments.

PostPosted: Wed Jan 18, 2012 4:30 pm
Frossa's bright expression wavered for a moment when Hazzan ordered a salad. A salad. Really? She could understand a salad as a side dish, or an appetizer, if you were into that sort of thing. And for goodness sake, it hadn't anything on it, either! She made a small clucking noise to herself, but simply fidgeted with the edge of the tablecloth.

As the navy blooded waitress left, Frossa turned her attention back to her clouder. Leaning in eagerly, her dark ringed eyes widened upon hearing confirmation of someone actually playing the prince. Who had agreed to FLARP with her...? Or, was Hazzan pulling something over their, and possibly her own, head? It was pointless to spend time lingering on it, Hazzan's lips were airtight.

"Spoilers..." The young troll echoed, spitting it out as if the very word was dirty. She liked spoilers! This was all just a part of Hazzan's dirty, dirty game to tease and prod at her. A game Frossa was doomed to lose, unless she wanted to be a clouder and friend short.

Frossa lit up as the conversation changed. "O~oh, yes!" She chirped, bouncing in her seat. The labyrinth had been fun, as terrorizing the wildlife was always fun. But it was also fairly routine. "The Imp Market was fabulous!" Frossa tugged lightly at the tablecloth, wrinkling the fabric and clinking the flatware. It wasn't everyday that they ran and flailed around through downtown Four Fronds like that. "You tripped over a fruit stand~" Frossa lifted a hand to her lips and let out a shrill giggle. "But that aside," Frossa scooched over on the bench to get closer to her friend. "Today's session was simply marvelous ~" She drawled, reaching lazily out to drape her arms around Hazzan's neck. "You're the best clouder ever~!"

Hazzan didn't flinch under Frossa's questioning glance, merely looked right back at her friend. If Frossa wanted to make something of her eating habits, that was her problem - Hazzan had her story and she was sticking to it, and Frossa had no power over that. Plots and food - she'd never tell.

"Yeah, well, the fruit stand should have gotten out of my way if it had known what was good for it," retorted Hazzan, fully aware of how ridiculous this statement was. She preened under Frossa's compliments otherwise, thrilled that her latest twists were earning her acclaim. Although Hazzan was too insecure with the notion to voice it just yet, she dreamed of one day playing her plots for a wider audience - like Troll Shakespeare.

Frossa was good practice for that, because she didn't ever skimp on the compliments.

"I'm really glad you liked it," Hazzan blushed, patting the arms around her neck. This right here was a good moment - Frossa was placated with the promise of food, but not absorbed by eating it yet, and Hazzan was still beaming with pride over another successfully executed plot. She leaned into the hug.

And then the good moment was interrupted by the navy-blooded waitress returning with an actual cart of plates. Hazzan looked at Frossa. "Would you look at that? she asked. "Soup's up."

PostPosted: Fri Jan 20, 2012 8:42 am
"Of course I liked it," Frossa gushed, nuzzling into Hazzan's tricep. Frossa was usually a very physical person, which would come as a surprise to none who knew her track record with violence. She also had a habit of invading troll's 'personal bubbles', what with all her grabbing, poking and clinging and other various touching. And of course, Hazzan had a little extra squish to grab and trollhandle- something Frossa took advantage of often. "Every plot you whip out is sublime, Hazzan ~!" Frossa chirped, giving her friend's upper arm a squeeze before sitting up adruptly as the navy blooded waitress popped up beside their table with a cart of cake. A pang of irritation ran down her chest; how dare the waitress interrupt their sweet little private moment! However, said irritation was gone in an instant as she began dishing out the plates, placing them before the two young females. Frossa's eyes grew and she fidgeted in her seat as the waitress placed the plates down lightly around the table.

"The rest of your food will be arriving shortly," The waitress bent her head in a stiff bow. "Please enjoy." As suddenly as she appeared, their server disappeared behind the stall walls to attend to her other customers.

Frossa shuffled away from Hazzan by a few inches, giving her arms enough room in preparation of shoveling cake full force down her protein chute. Her eyes darted around the various, elaborately decorated cakes, unable to choose which one to start with. She lifted her arms to grab a plate a few times, fingers twitching, but her arms dropped to her side after each attempt. There were simply too many choices, and it was very important to choose the right piece to start with, as it set the mood for the rest of the meal. Frossa perused her lips, brows furrowed in thought. Perhaps this was a time for a second opinion...

"Which one looks the best?" Frossa chirped over at her tealblood companion. Hazzan had to eat cake; who didn't? Surely she had some sort of opinion despite her habit of ordering uncooked vegetables. Picking up a fork, Frossa gripped it in her fist like some sort of weapon, ready to stab at the unfortunate slice that was going to be going into her mouth first. "Perhaps I should start with a piece of chocolate..." Frossa trailed off, obviously disgruntled with her indecisiveness.

"Yeah, start with the chocolate," agreed Hazzan, although she did not so much as look at the cake in question. Hazzan was more of a grazer than a gorger, even in the comfort of her own home. She looked down at the salad that had been placed in front of her, but didn't start on it yet. Slow and steady would win this race; better let Frossa get a head start...

She reached out and nudged the plate placed closest to her towards Frossa. Hazzan was both hungry and disgusted, and she needed to get the pastry away from herself. Eating with Frossa was always an exercise in self control, and today was no different.

Hazzan picked up her fork and poked at her salad. Nope, not going there.

"Is it good?" she asked Frossa politely, not really caring what the answer might be. She just wanted to humor her friend and go home.

PostPosted: Fri Jan 20, 2012 11:52 am
"Chocolate it is!" Frossa cried, pulling the plate Hazzan had nudged towards her into her chest. Stabbing the cake with near violent force, Frossa shoveled the chocolate pastry down her protein chute faster than it took her to wrestle her flatware out of the rolled up napkin. Wiping a crumb off her lips with the back of her hand, Frossa flashed Hazzan a chocolatey grin before placing her fork down lightly. She sat quietly for a moment, cleaning her jagged teeth with her tongue in thought. The purpleblood watched her friend push her hoofbeast food around her plate unenthusiastically, all the while wondering why she would order something and then not immediately shove it in her face.

"This cake is simply divine," Frossa drawled, hand outreached as she tried to select the next piece. Chocolate again, covered in small red berries and some sort of jam filling. Frossa nearly melted in her seat at the glorious sight that was before her, slathered in whipped cream. Grabbing her fork once more with a clenched fist, she stabbed into the fluffy pastry, slicing off a fairly large mouthful. Lifting it to her mouth, she froze as her eyes once again met Hazzan depressingly pushing her food around. She made an irritated clicking noise in her throat, and held the fork out to Hazzan's face.

"Please, why don't you take a bite?" Frossa's voice was unusually soothing. "It's really quite good! Look; I even gave you the first bit and a strawberry." She never shared her food, ever. It just simply wasn't in her nature. But Hazzan was her friend, and was obviously depriving herself of delicious things. This needed to be fixed, immediately!

Hazzan stared down at her salad, nudging the leaves around. As long as Frossa was violently devouring her cake with nauseating intensity, she wouldn't be able to look at her. Divine or not, Hazzan didn't want to risk it - although whether she was risking being tempted or puking at this point was sort of unclear. The sounds Frossa had made eating the last slice set the tealblood's stomach churning for better or for worse, and even the lettuce in front of her seemed imposing right at this moment.

Having food shoved directly in front of her face did make it a bit difficult to ignore, however. Hazzan stared at the forkful of cake in front of her and set her mouth into a firm line. She brought her gaze slowly up to meet Frossa and shook her head. "No thanks," she said determinedly, shaking her head.

The polite refusal didn't seem to deter Frossa, because the cake remained. pointed at her face, and was now reinforced with encouraging words. It did look delicious, Hazzan admitted to herself, but that didn't mean she was in any position to eat it. "I mean it, Frossa," she said, backing away from the fork, the cake, and the berry. "I don't want any."

She bit her lip. The cake did look delicious.

PostPosted: Wed Jan 25, 2012 2:22 pm
Frossa waved the fork in circles in front of Hazzan's face, grin wide as she teased her friend. "What, you don't like chocolate?" She chirped, well aware that there was no possible way that Hazzan didn't find the forkful of cake and berries temping. There was even a healthy portion of whipped cream- how could she possibly not want to shove it right into her face? Frossa wasn't too sure if her friend ate meat, seeing as thought she only ever saw her push hoofbeast food around on her plate and accordingly offered her pastry instead. But who the hell didn't like cake...?

"I mean it, Hazzan," Frossa echoed the tealblood, expression brightening even more. It was fun watching her squirm. "Just have a bite!" The highblood shoved the fork closer to Hazzan's face, just barely grazing her lips. "Come on, come on, open up!" Grabbing her friend's shoulder opposite her with a free hand, Frossa tugged at Hazzan urgently. Frossa's eyes seemed a little more wild than usual as she pestered the other troll. "Eat!" She commanded, squeezing the coolblood's shoulder firmly. Fork still held diligently at mouth height, Frossa simply waited for Hazzan to obey. "Or else." She added- an ominous touch would do Hazzan some good. There was nothing wrong with a little intimidation among friends, right? She didn't often defy Frossa's requests, unless it was FLARP related- which was somewhat reasonable, seeing as she was usually their clouder. Frossa wasn't about to let this slide.

Face cracking once more into a toothy smile, Frossa gestured to the remaining slices of cake. "Or would you prefer a different piece?" She cooed, cocking her head and batting her eyelashes innocently at Hazzan.

Truth be told, Hazzan loved chocolate, and having it shoved in her face was doing nothing for her efforts to remain nonchalant. She let her eyes drift out of focus and leaned back in her seat, doing her best to ignore the piece of cake that was right in her gogdamn face. She did her best to count to ten and take a deep breath before doing anything drastic, but that breath came in smelling like cocoa.

Unable to bear this any longer, Hazzan swatted at the fork, trying to push it away. Politeness be damned, she felt comfortable enough with the purple-blood beside her to get in her face a bit. Gritting her teeth, she declared, "I mean it, Frossa. I don't want any cake. Or any of your food. It's gross, I'm not hungry, I don't want it."

Determined to undermine its owner, Hazzan's stomach growled loudly. The chubby troll didn't even glance down.

"Get it out of my face," she ordered, glaring daggers at the other girl. Hazzan had been pushed to her breaking point, and she did not want any of that cake, delicious and moist or not. Strawberry or not. She didn't want it. (Except that wasn't true, she really, really did.)
