Today wasn't the brightest of all days. The sun was shining however in it's path were cloud upon cloud only breaking to spare short bursts of warm rays here and there, every now and again. Neria's head lifted towards the sky, the floating cotton so bright she feared it may blind her yet it didn't stop her from squinting to stare as long as her dark sockets would allow. It was so peaceful in Eden, with Zeeke once more spending days out with his intented it grew quieter, no edge to break the silence. Not even her fathers hyperactive voice filled the air, his old age gaining on him.

She smiled, switching her gaze from the sky to look over the forest that bordered the craters walls. Her son no doubt would be amongst them within the shadows along with her mate, also a shadow dweller but their protector no less. Even though things had changed since she was younger, everyone was settling down and having kids apart from her mother and father who had yet to have their last bunch of children, and the calm had swept over these lands it was still too quiet. Did everyone have the same feeling? Was that anticipation of an attack at any moment eating the other members of the herd up like it was her? A sigh of exhaustion caught her, eyes closing to reflect the worn thoughts.

Her mother, when they were younger had taught them how to listen to the world, the spirits. Listen closely, follow the guidance it gives without taking it for granted but how could she feel this intimacy with the world when she simply just couldn't grasp the concept. Something invisible, only worldly amongst the wind and the tree's gave guidance? She was uncertain but it had brought her mother a good life had lead her to make the right choices. She wished she knew how she did it, like there was some family secret that she didn't know of. Maybe it was just an angeni thing but even still that blood ran faintly through her vains. She thought about taking up those lessons once more from her mother, her father too even though he was old fashioned in the way of war.

She needed to do something. She couldn't just sit idly by and wait until an ambush came, the fangs of the pack who lived below the mountain taking the imps victim. A repeat of their fathers history, a failed leadership to prevent such happenings. It was only a short time away before Rosie would go and collect Shadow's daughter, pecious as she was heir to the pack and Evan was taking her away it was only logic that they would follow to claim back what is theirs. She would fight for her baby, had fought for her baby, only he had chosen his path and by 'freeing' him, he realised what was right and wrong, as the way of life.

Now it was time to make her move, she was determined to whip herself in to shape, man up in this role and do justice for the good of the herd. She was leader, it was time to grow up and fill in to the shoes of the role no matter how hard the journey would be, she would give and do anything for the ones she held dear.
