In her civilian life, Marcella was fairly certain she had found a good apartment to rent for the time being, away from her parents and a little closer to school and work. Price was no concern for the girl, but this particular building had a nice room full of windows for fairly cheap, which would at least mean she could save a good amount of money. The more she could hold onto, the better, most likely, with medical school up on the horizon. The neighborhood seemed decent, and there was a grocery store not far away.
The only thing left, she had realized, was to check to see if there was any regular activity among either senshi or chaos in the area. And so Asclepius had been taking time each night to patrol in a wide area around the apartment, just to see if there was anything terribly worrying going on in the locale. No part of Destiny City seemed really truly safe, unfortunately, but the senshi of medicine at least hoped to see if there was any huge risk of the whole apartment going up in flames as a result of magic war. Since that sort of thing happened too troublingly often, too.
It had been perhaps an hour or so already, and Asclepius took a moment to sit on the roof of some shop or another, to admire the view. She was not fully sure when her scrutiny of the neighborhood could be considered officially "over", but, well, at least thus far everything seemed okay.

Ilmenite liked Sovereign Heights students, the little community surrounding the campus. Perhaps it was familiarity, from his one short semester followed by months of couch hopping, getting to know bars and people and slowly tearing apart who he'd been. Perhaps it was because there was so much activity, young people coming home from campus, getting dinner out on the streets. Or maybe it was because a lot of them did like to drink.
The bar wasn't far from where Asclepius sat, a little hipster place that was generally over crowded, with food cheap in every sense of the word. Tonight, there were four dollar pitchers of fifth-rate beer, combined with free tortilla chips. It drew in crowds big enough that, when it was warmer, they spilled out on the streets, and tonight they just crammed into every nook and corner.
She wouldn't be able to see Ever's transformation into Ilmenite, in the back alley, nor his accosting of a small group of already-drink students, but she'd certainly be able to sense the energy flare of a General suddenly in her territory.

Hairs stood up along the back of Asclepius' neck as she sensed the strong feeling of a Negaverse officer nearby. Someone more powerful, for sure. Unnerving, but then if she wanted to avoid the Negaverse entirely, then her new apartment would have to be outside of Destiny City. She was hoping to avoid a fight, but, well, whoever it was could likely sense her, as well, so there was no hiding at this point.
There was a blocky ugly building like a bank or something next door, which Asclepius hopped onto, and then jumped down onto the overhang over the door to the place. She could hear commotion, but as she reached her new vantage point, she saw it was just a bar or something down the street a little ways. Night life was not something that interested her (at least night life in the traditional sense; clubbing and fighting monsters were two entirely different animals, and Asclepius regarded her senshi duties as a job rather than recreation), but she decided that the noise would not be intolerable if she did decide to move into the nearby apartments.
She was fairly sure the Negaverser was inside the bar, though, which was a problem. Whoever it was might be able to steal energy largely unnoticed in such a crowded place, and the senshi of medicine could not exactly walk straight in to fight him. Chewing her lip, she crouched low on the overhang and watched the exit for the moment; maybe she could catch whoever it was when he left. Maybe he would even come out to see what senshi was hiding out over here.

Surely, Ilmenite had to know she was there -- her aura, at Super, should have caught his attention enough to make him look up and consider. It was enough to make him curious, especially when she lingered, instead of flitting off into the distance again. Someone, then, lingering and watching. For him.
So it was only fair to assume he made her wait. When he came out, a good twenty minutes later, it was with pearls of energy rolling in his palm, something that had to be a deliberate insult. He reached up with his free hand to shift the hat on his head, chin tipped up to peer out from under the brim, to hunt for the source of that energy.
Maybe she'd recognize all that green. The plaid. The flash of white hair curling out around his collar.

Whoever it was sure took his time. She was fairly certain he had picked up on her presence, but her curiosity kept her rooted to the spot. Especially after she had been there for fifteen, then twenty minutes: might as well stick around until he decided to come out, at that point.
And, when she saw the white hair and green cap, Asclepius sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose between two fingers. Maybe she should have guessed. Or it was just her luck. The number of times the senshi of medicine ran into this guy was starting to make her wonder if it could be considered a rivalry, though they had traded few, if any blows. She crouched and studied him more closely, partly hoping that perhaps it was some other Negaverser in green plaid with shock-white hair. Another general.
... On second thought, a stranger might be more inclined to attack.
Asclepius rose to her feet, remaining on top of the overhang of the bank but moving to stand right up against where the wall continued to rise upwards, blank and brick, to the roof. And she smiled, waiting for him to look at her.

He did, and his reply was a sudden blossom of a smile, pale eyebrows raising into his hat and the steel toes of his boots flashing for just a moment --
Gone. His energy signature fluttered away as he disappeared, and then snapped back into existence behind her, instead. How many Generals had Asclepius met, interacted with? At length? Probably not any who liked to abused their teleportation the way Ilmenite did. Hands in his pockets, he surveyed the roof in a bemused sort of way.
"Was this supposed to be an ambush?" It came out dry, easygoing. He was apparently unconcerned that she might attack.

No, she had not met terribly many generals, and was not sure she had seen one teleport before, though she might have heard about the ability from one of her allies. The hairs on the back of Asclepius' neck stood up as the general disappeared and reappeared behind her. She kept her demeanor casual and unconcerned as well as she could, though, and turned around to face him again. Something about him reminded the Senshi of Medicine of Chaonis, in the sense that if she did not act bothered, he would be less likely to do anything.
Hopefully it was a correct assessment. He had remained a step ahead of her in power, it seemed, which unsettled the brown-haired girl.
"Not at all," Asclepius told him. "I am not really the covert type, I just want to avoid the clubbers. Though I guess that makes me more content to remain in the background than you. But no, I felt you nearby while I as passing through, and thought I would wait around to see what happened."

"You realize that waiting is wasted time, right?" It came with a flash of a grin, brief, his voice touched with a faint edge of mocking. Ilmenite wasn't usually proud, didn't usually indulge: he kept his head down and did what he did. In this case, though, he knew he'd done a good job. The energy sat heavy in his pocket, pearls that slipped between gloved fingers in a reassuring way. Maybe he didn't kill senshi, but no one could say that he didn't do his job.
"You left me so much time to finish up in there." He rocked on his heels as he said it, looking over her outfit again as well. Definitely not bad, though his own seemed more pragmatic. Maybe he'd feel different as the heat rolled in. "Whatever happened to fiercely defending them from the ravages of 'sleeping in a few days'?"
