Playground Field: The field looks like an average playground. Grass mostly covers the field floor, but sand surrounds the areas where the jungle gym, see-saw, swing set, merry-go-round, monkey bars, and trapeze rings are set. Scattered around the field are a baseball, a soccer ball, a football, and many other types of balls. A tree stands at one corner of the playground with a tire swing hanging from its strongest branch. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to NORMAL type attacks.

This time, Zinnia entered with all of her pokemon contained in their pokeballs. She wanted it to be a surprise which one she would use first. It was a double battle, after all! How exciting!
She looked over the field. It wasn't really one that she could use, but at least her team wouldn't be put at a disadvantage. There was plenty of room to dodge around; that was good.
She looked across the field at her opponent and waved to indicate that she was ready. "Good luck!" she added.

Chloe held a Masterball in one hand and left her Ultraball attached to her belt, watching the field with a bit of disdain. This wouldn't be easy on Shimmer, having a lack of water, but fortunately her attacks worked well at range.
"Good luck to you too!" Chloe laughed, beginning to toss her ball in the air and then catch it repeatedly. This would be an interesting experience, hopefully.

"All right, Shadow, let's start this off with an Ice Beam!" Zinnia shouted, tossing her mew out to fight.
Shadow burst out of her pokeball and onto the field. She immediately lifted her paw and shot a freezing cold beam of energy out across the field in Chloe's direction.

"Let's go, Shimmer!" Chloe extended her arm and released the Lapras from her Masterball, "Hit that Mew with your Signal Beam!"
"Laaaaaaaa!" Shimmer cried as she burst forth, landing with a thud on the battlefield and fluttering her eyes at her opponent, pretending not to notice as the ice attack glanced off of her shell. "Lapras, laaaaaaaaa!" As she opened her mouth again she let out a brightly colored beam that caused a buzzing sound to reverberate from it as it shot towards Shadow.

"Don't stop now! Giga Drain!" Zinnia called out when she saw that her mew had successfully dodged the attack.
Shadow quickly used the grass attack to steal some hitpoints, but it didn't do her any good because she was already at full health!

Shimmer winced as the grass type attack drained her health before aiming her beam at Shadow once more.

"Giga Drain!" Zinnia repeated.
Shadow winced at the attack that had been just as powerful as the one she had just dealt out. An eye for an eye, it seemed to be. She hurried to drain the lapras's attack again.

Chloe knew better than to bother telling Shimmer to dodge in this kind of environment, but the urge was very strong. "Good hit, Shimmer, again!"
Shimmer shook her head back and forth in an attempt to ignore the painful grass type attacks and shot a glare at Shadow before firing another Signal Beam her way.

The health that she had stolen didn't seem to do her much good after the lapras's second powerful attack. She quickly lifted a paw to try freezing the giant pokemon again.

For a moment Chloe was completely unconcerned with the ice attack aimed at Shimmer, but when she was engulfed in ice she cried out in surprise. "Shimmer!" She pounded her fist on the edge of the trainer platform in frustration, "Shimmer, try to break free!"

"All right!" Zinnia exclaimed. "Nice one! Now for a big Giga Drain!" It was their chance to make a comeback! That lapras was strong, but she still couldn't do anything if she was stuck like a rock!

Chloe blinked a few times and was surprised to see that the attack seemed to have no effect through the thick ice. She assumed that it wasn't the case, but somehow the thick layer of ice around Shimmer might actually be protecting her. That was the good news, the bad news, though, was that she couldn't move. The ice seemed to be thawing rather quickly, but it was clear that Shimmer still couldn't move, and unfortunately it wouldn't provide protection for long.
