Welcome to my quest for Xue. Surname is Xue if it helps with anything.
She is my planned guardian for an upcoming events. I request that you do not post until I am finished. Secondly, theft of ideas will also not be tolerated.
This character is quested with permission from Nyx considering Yuan will be Shen's sibling.
Currently I am looking for critiques that focus on her PERSONALITY. It reads super wonky and one sided for me.

Name: Yuan Gender: Female Age: 19 Weight: 130 lbs. Height: 5 ft 11 in. 6 ft 2-4in when wearing high heels Status: Single and not seeking Job Title: Runway Model
Birthday: January 27th, 1992 Horoscope: Aquarian, Year of the Monkey
Likes: Running, swimming, being active. Painting, cooking, baking, reading, rainy days, grapefruits, and the beach. Dislikes: Sweet things, slow days, people who make excuses, abused animals, snow, bright and sunny days.
Appearance: As a runway model, Yuan takes good care of her body. Her weight rarely fluctuates, and she's highly critical of her daily caloric input and output. Her hair is a shiny, healthy chestnut color like her brother's though significantly longer in that it reaches to the back of her knee. She also has bangs that frames her relatively androgynous face with a nice feminine touch. Since her hair is so long (as request of her employer), she either keeps it clasped with a flower pin at the base of her neck or puts it up with a long hairpin.
Her skin is unblemished and pale, something she goes through great pains to maintain in such condition. She rarely eats processed foods, fast food, or the like to maintain her figure and complexion. As required of most models, she has long slender legs and small torso. That being said, she also has surprisingly full breasts (34C) for a woman of her height and weight, especially when considering her chinese heritage. Yuan has almond shaped eyes framed in lush lashes that give her an alluring gaze.
Yuan dresses fashionably when outside and tends to wear clothes that give her a very sharp, almost intimidating atmosphere. However, at home, she sports something more relaxing and comfortable like leggings and an oversized sweater. Despite her overall very feminine appearance, Yuan has a very masculine manner of speaking and most of her gestures are far from graceful except when on the catwalk.
Because of her profession, she has no distinguishing marks such as tattoos or piercings other than her triple lobe piercings.
Etc: - Due to her profession, Yuan has been to many countries. As a result, repeated visits to various countries have left her fluent in many languages including English, Chinese, Korean, French and Italian.
- Despite being an avid drinker, she avoids it because alcohol is bad for her complexion.
- Yuan has increasingly been suffering from fatigue and aching joints. Health concerns that she has been keeping secret from both her brother and agent to avoid compromising her career.Reason for a pet As of current, Yuan is emotionally stunted. Other than her brother, she can't connect to anyone else on an emotional level. This is also the reason that she doesn't have many friends at work or outside work. She has had few relationships and all of which have ended horribly. As a result, this led to her keeping many of her problems private when instead she could be using someone's help. This pet would start the timer again to allow for emotional growth. One that will allow her to be more empathetic and compassionate towards others. Furthermore, her current lifestyle has no real sense of stability other than Shen. A companion would not only be a friend for when she's away from home, but also a family and someone she can confide in.
As she continues to grow older, she won't be able to lean on Shen as both an emotional crutch and stable bearing for her lifestyle.

Personality: Personality Key Words Imposing, charismatic, enigmatic, resilient, ambitious, pushy, competitive, emotionally distanced, judgmental, blunt, energetic, productive, borderline workaholic, obsessive compulsive, abrasive, dominant Yuan is a highly complex individual. Her interactions are divided between work and nonwork setting and further by familiarity. Though her personality is at the core a conglomerate of all of those traits, what traits surface the most largely depends on those two facts of setting and familiarity. Thus, the way she greets you in during work is very different from if you were to meet her off work.Work Setting Like most fashion industries, the modeling industry is quite competitive. And for a person to survive, they have to be resilient, hard working, ambitious and charismatic. Yuan, has all those traits and more. Having first built her career as an androgynous enigma, her transformation as she matured over the years was an unexpectedly stark one. Her nicknamed within the industry changed from Blackbird to The Baroness because of her new imposing and agressive aura compounded with her strong gaze. As she rose through the ranks in the modeling world, she was quick to learn that just as things were quick to come, they were just as quick to leave.
Because this is a professional setting, she speaks without sugar coating her words. Her comments of disapproval when someone fails to do their job correctly have a way of being akin to being stabbed repeated in the chest with a blunt knife. Agonizing, slow, and dreadful. She is prone to few words, and even fewer compliments. That being said, she is professional. She doesn't just speak out in disapproval to watch someone squirm in humiliation, engage in dangerous behavior like "diet pills" or drugs, and attends to all of her engagements in a punctual manner. She also gets her work done under any kind of time constraint and gets them right the first time around. Chances are, if she says something about how you work, you probably deserved it. If you bring her a skinny mocha latte instead of black coffee, she's not going to cut you down. She may gently remind you next time, but you can be sure she's not going to be a drama queen about it.
Interacting with Yuan at work can be difficult as she primarily keeps to herself and works hard to keep work and home separate. To those she's meeting for the first time, she may respond with a slight nod of the head an a word or two. Others she's known longer, she may have small conversations with and gives off a considerably less intimidating aura. As a result, she has very few work friends. And it is only expounded due to her highly competitive streak. She has seen the thing she's capable of, and in knowing so, she knows she can also do better yet. Better than what she's done, better than what others before her have done. In a sense, it's a very dangerous double-edged sword that has been looming over her head all her life. Her competitive nature has fueled her ambition and has lead to her highly successful career. Yuan is under the impression that if you can't keep up then you don't belong. That being said, she's not going to waste her time stooping down to your level so you can catch up. The world just doesn't work like that.
Yuan also has a low tolerance for bullshit. Nonwork Setting/General Interactions Even from a young age, Yuan has always been high active. She used to constantly demand that her parents or brother play with her, unable to handle her high energy level by herself. As she grew older, she became quite adept in redirecting all that energy elsewhere, and it's especially evident in her highly active lifestyle today. Yuan is early to rise and late to sleep, preferring to maximize the hours in a day. Not to mention, she spends a good 2 hours every morning exercising.
Outside a work setting, Yuan is slightly warmer and more receptive. She smiles a little more and laughs a little more, and the manner in which she speaks is surprisingly causal and masculine. Her aura in general is less intimidating and agressive though it still maintains strong hints of charisma and strength.
She places huge importance on first impressions. Home Setting Despite her abrasive personality, Yuan can be an equally warm person. Particularly to individuals she's known her whole life such as her family. Sure, it's harder to get out but it's definitely there. There are a handful of people she cares about, and she'll do anything in the world for them. She may not be the impressive lawyer daughter that her parents wanted, but they'll definitely be able to count on her to support them financially. By nature, Yuan is not a particularly open or emotionally free person. Emotions can make her uncomfortable. She's aware of this and does her best to work around it by showing she cares in other ways like a homemade packed lunch or a favorite dessert after a hard day. She tries to do the little things, because it's the only thing she's really good at doing when trying to show people she cares about them. To those she's really comfortable with, like her brother and family, she comes off as being caring, stubborn and sweet in her own way.
Shen Yuan has a difficult relationship with her brother. She loves and adores him but also worries about him as well. Yuan is highly perceptive of the people around her, and she can usually tell when an individual has high potential. Shen is an example of this. He's capable of being so much more than just a veterinarian if it weren't for his lazy, laid back, almost careless attitude.
That aside, she adores him all the same and is perhaps most open around him. She smiles the most and laughs the most when with Shen, because he is the only one she really feels comfortable around. Yuan protective of her dummy brother and will hurt anyone who nears him with an intent to harm.

History:
From the moment of Yuan's birth, she had crushed every single of her parents' expectations. First off, they had been expecting another healthy boy, one that would grow up to be just as successful if not more successful than Shen. And, a lawyer no less. Yet instead, somehow, they had gotten a sickly little girl. As such, her birth came as a big surprise to her parents who had only been anticipating a baby boy. Nevertheless, they remained strong and gave her the name they had intended for their boy, Yuan. Instead of a boy lawyer, they would just have a girl lawyer.
That, proved to be a futile dream on their behalf. Even as a young child, Yuan was headstrong, demanding and rebellious. She had a heavy artistic streak and unlike her prodigy older brother, numbers and words frustrated and confused her. Instead, she excelled in art, music, dance, and even sports. In essence, she was the exact opposite of their soft spoken, passive son. A change that her parents had no idea how to deal or control. At the tender age of 13, Yuan became enraptured in the world of fashion. She threw herself heavily into to the world of couture fashion. From then on, everything else was just luck.
At age 15, Yuan took a part time job at a large department store chain by modeling their clothes and posing in their catalogs. Not quite having experienced the full gifts of puberty yet, she had a very slim and androgynous figure that piqued the interest of more than a few professional modeling agencies. A few phone calls here and there, and she was immediately drafted into Otsuka Modeling. From then on, she became quite popular with her signature androgynous image, and her career was marked with many photo shoots and advertisement deals. In the next two years, Yuan worked blood, sweat, and tears to rise almost to the top of the modeling agency. There, she signed her first large contract with fashion giant Armani, an event that cascaded with her becoming the face of the company. It was a considerable feat, and one that resulted with her marking more than a few rivals along the way.
At age 17, Yuan began her descent into being a runway model. Having blossomed into a woman now, it was impossible for her to continue on with the androgynous image that had made her so popular. As the fashion face for Armani, it was only natural that her first show would be Armani's fall fashion show; one that she would enjoy immensely due to the high pressure, energy and surge of adrenaline. Her name gained considerable repute in the runway business with her ongoing evolution, going so far as to develop her own unique runway walk. Over the following two years, Yuan worked increasingly harder yet, and her efforts paid off considerably well. She was listed as one of 20 most demanded runway models.
Although Yuan has only been modeling for 6 years, she has already amassed a large sum of money in her bank account. Recently, she's become more selective of the jobs she takes, trying to spend more time at home with her brother. Currently, she spends 1-2 weeks of every month at home with Shen and spends the rest of the time working.
Though Yuan has no intentions of quitting yet, it seems she may have no choice in the matter with her health on the decline due to the stressful nature of her job.

Storage: Old Personality Even from a young age, Yuan has always been high active.
It's only natural that with so much energy, she would be just as productive. When staying at home in Shen's apartment, she takes care of all the cooking, laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping. She makes lists every morning, and she'll be damned if she doesn't get everything on them done that day. In some aspects, she's a severe workaholic.. Anytime she's not working, she feels uneasy. Relaxing can be hard for her, and it takes a lot of coaxing from Shen for her to completely let go when visiting her brother. As a result, Yuan can also be quite pushy. If she's getting so much work done, why aren't you?
If there's one thing she hates more than animal abuse, it's probably people who constantly make excuses. If she's able to get such and such done, shouldn't that person be able to do so too? Doesn't it just mean that they're not putting in enough effort? That they're just being lazy? In fact, this trait of hers is what constantly leads her to bug and butt heads with Shen about his lifestyle. Yuan is highly perceptive of the people around her, and she can usually tell when an individual has high potential. Shen is an example of this. Her brother can be so much more than just a veterinarian if it weren't for his lazy, laid back, almost careless attitude.
But despite her abrasive personality, Yuan can be an equally warm person. Sure, it's harder to get out but it's definitely there. There are people she cares about, and she'll do anything in the world for them. She may not be the impressive lawyer daughter that her parents wanted, but they'll definitely be able to count on her to support them financially. Yuan won't go to the ends of the world for just anyone though unless say that person is Shen, but she'll still do her best so support them in other ways like a homemade packed lunch or a favorite dessert after a hard day. She tries to do the little things, because it's the only thing she's really good at doing when trying to show people she cares about them.
In another note, the way Yuan treats people varies greatly depending on how she meets them. A person she meets while working, she may exude a confident, professional almost agressive atmosphere. Doing so puts her in charge of the situation, and she likes being in control. Out of the work place however, she's less intense. She smiles a little more and tries to help a little more.
This mainly stems up from the fact that she grew up as a model. Modeling is a cutthroat industry, you either make it or break it. Growing up as a teenager, that was what she saw and what she was indoctrinated with. Yuan is under the impression that if you can't keep up then you don't belong. That being said, on a professional level, she's not going to waste her time stooping down to your level so you can catch up. The world just doesn't work like that.
Because of her parents and her general personality, Yuan has a highly competitive streak in her. What others do, she must do better. However, in return, it has also pushed her away from many friends. She has a habit of making even the smallest thing such as drinking water a competition or seeing who can cook the best. Her nature leaves her to be a very difficult person to be around.
Yuan has has a low tolerance for bullshit. And overall, her personality is not what you would expect from her appearance. She speaks in a very masculine manner that surprises most people.
