"C'mon, let's go!"

The officers hastily pulled her through and no matter how much she twisted or spat at their faces, they would not allow her to budge. She was forced through the wire-barbed stone walls, tripped down the pavement, and finally through the double doors of a precinct she knew all too well. The receptionist, quiet in his paperwork, suddenly jumped up at the harsh entrance and blinked a few before settling.

"Oh, her again?" he muttered. "Give her cell four."

Again she was dragged and again she was thrust into a cell to contemplate her ways.

The three officers joined the one at the counter, forming a neat group of four for chatter.

"So it's her again, huh?" sighed one as she wiped Cetus's saliva from her face. " b***h is really psycho, isn't she? Trying to steal s**t from a computer store again . . . "

"Well, whadd'ya expect from such'a crazy broad? Anyone who 'sides ta join a evil gang is sure ta not be 'ight in tha 'ead."

"You know, I heard she is the one who offed Officer Wimple . . . " The officer turned towards the memorial plaque dedicated to him.

" 'eaaally? Shiiit, broad ain't jus' crazy . . . she's a damn murderer!"

"Aw, shut up, man. You know I'm sensitive about that s**t . . . Poor guy was a good friend!" The receptionist sighed into his palm and slumped into his swivel chair.

"Sorry, sorry . . ." replied the other, patting her colleague on the shoulder." Anyway, so, what do we do? Just leave her there until the chief comes?"

"Pretty 'uch." spoke the officer with the awkward accent. " 'er files are already done an' we don' hafta make a 'eport on her anytime soon. So let's jus' 'lax fer a bit."

The other three nodded, until a door east of the exit and down the hall swung open.

The four gasped than scrambled together, forming a neat line. They each straightened their hand and slapped it to their foreheads, saluting to the oncoming body.

"Hello Chief!" they bellowed in unison as the figure appeared, spittle flying.

"Uhh . . . ?" The dark skinned man blinked, than chuckled a bit under his breath. "Calm down guys, I'm not the chief." he said after his short bout of clueless blinks. "He's out having lunch with his daughter so he won't be here until later today."

The four pin-straight spines fell curved and comfortable as each police took a moment to sigh with relief.

"Oh, Osmond, it is just you, thank goodness . . . " replied one of them. "If the Chief found us averting work again, man, I'd rather death."

"Yea!" agreed Wimple's once friend. "My ears are still ringing from last time he yelled at us."

"Fer a flippin' hour straight!"

Osmond chuckled again. "Haha. Anyway, what's got you lazy on the job today?"

"Anotha' regular." replied the accent man, searching a desk for a pen to begin that report.

"Oh, another regular joe blow man doing something stupid?"

"Far from it," replied the receptionist. "A lady, class-act at that."

"Oh?" Osmond perked up. How peculiar, a woman. "What's up with her, crazy or something?"

"Why don'cha check fer yerself?" spoke up accent man again. "She's in cell four. Take a look."

Osmond shrugged than followed down the hall, counting the various barred rooms until he reached cell four.

As his mundane grey stare glanced into the cell, his sight caught of a woman bundled up on the second bunk staring at the wall. Her seafoam green hair was disheveled and her uniform (which bore a strange G) was ripped and torn in various places. She was extremely petite and it made her appear almost childish.

"Hey," Osmond croaked towards her, hoping to bring her face forward.

When she did, the officer stumbled back. By Arceus-! It couldn't be! His legs felt stiff for a moment and his voice caught in his throat. Than, without anymore delay, he stomped his way back to the counter and slapped his palms onto it, sending paperwork flying up in his wake.

"That woman in cell four- what's her name?" Osmond asked, his voice catching in his throat.

All of the officers shrugged, wondering why he was in such a knotted state.

"T-Than her file, can I see it?"

The receptionist's left brow sloped, but he inclined towards Osmond's offer and rolled over to the file cabinet while still in his swivel chair. He pulled open the third row from the top before fingering through a bit of folders than withdrawing a file and handing it to him. Osmond took the folder in a haste and flipped through a few reports until coming to her information. The bolded name only confirmed his suspicions and after a few breaths to calm himself, he flew back to the cell.

"Shinju!"

Cetus was caught off guard too. What that-? Couldn't be . . . But when she heard her true name resound down the hall, she chagrined. Ah, yes, it was him.

Officer Osmond gripped the bars to steady himself. Than, in a fit of bottled up anger for several, several years, he squeezed his hands against the poles until his knuckles seemed bleach white and he rattled it like a caged child. The metal clattered in a continuous rumble, clanking and clinking against their hinges. Cetus watched with an awkward but understanding air. Wouldn't you act the same way too when the person you loved disappeared and than reappeared after ten years?

After the little tantrum annoyed her enough, Cetus uncurled from her position and cocked her head to the left. "You done?" she asked.

Osmond released his grip from the bars, each finger just cricking from the taut muscles brought on by anger. To just go out with a bang, he slammed a fit against the adjacent wall and pressed himself to the coolness to steam off some of the lingering heat. His comrades peeked their eyes down the hall, but quickly averted them. They didn't know Osmond's predicament but, when he got mad, they knew to stray away. Osmond wasn't pretty when he was upset, just a bit more handsome than usual.

Osmond said nothing. Instead, he returned once again to the counter and tried his best to appear calm. "Hey, you guys got an interrogation room?" he asked. No matter how hide he tried, he couldn't mask his anger. "Or just, y'know, any room?"

"Uh, yea, we got an interrogation one. What are you planning to do Osmond . . . ?"

"Can you take the prisoner, the um, the woman there asap? I want to ask her some questions."

"Well, err Osmond, we can-"

"Can you?" Osmond's anger began to bubble again and the glare straightened the officer quickly.

"Yea, yea, we can. Um, give us five."

"Alright."

Osmond stormed off to another unknown location and the four officers quickly took their order in full. They marched to cell four, dragged Cetus out, and stuffed her in the designated room until Osmond chose to enter. Both her wrist and ankles were cuffed to prevent escape, but she really wasn't considering it. Osmond obviously wanted to speak with her and much to her surprise, she wanted to speak with him too.

Osmond had wandered off to the male restroom. Furiously, a stream of lukewarm water was funneled down into the sink. Osmond pooled his palms under the running water than splashed it heavily onto his face. He repeated this gesture a few more times and stopped to breath, sniffling from the water than precariously found its way up into his nostrils. Bringing his downcast gaze upward, he stared at a face that only knew regret for the last ten years.

"Shinju . . . " Is this what she turned her life to after disappearing? The hell was her problem? Was she truly mentally insane? Arceus damn it, what was her reason? Didn't she ever consider his feelings that day? Why'd she do it? Why? WHY-?

Osmond fist beat against the porcelain sink, but the thump was blanketed beneath the thrashing surge of water from the faucet. There was no use asking so many questions to himself. They were meant for Shinju. Sighing, he twisted the knobs and shut the water off, wiped his face with the side of his sleeve, and stepped from the bathroom to the counter. He figured the receptionist for a moment to find out where the interrogation room was and promptly found himself trekking quite quickly towards it. He wanted answers, now.

The silence of the room bore into Shinju's fluctuating nervousness. It both calmed and nagged at her, bringing discomfort to a brimming level. Just as she was about to near lose it, the silver knob of the room twisted open. Silhouetted against the door frame was Osmond, quite healthy in comparison to her roughed up state. She felt herself almost grow small like a child being caught doing something naughty as he strode in and cuffed the door behind him, shutting it with a medium slam.

Rolling his fingers into fists, he leaned onto them against the table separating him from Shinju and huffed. He'd so many questions but only a tense silence found his lips than. Likewise, Cetus could not utter a word. The atmosphere, heavy as it was, only seemed to grow thicker between the once lovers. What could be said after such a long, long time?

Finally, the silence was broken as a muted, "I'm sorry." came from the opposite side of the room. Cetus was bunched together as she sat in the wooden chair, dark teal eyes glancing sideways towards the wall. "I'm sorry for what happened . . . than." she meekly added to her before statement.

Osmond nearly collapsed at the apology, but forced himself upward. "Why did you do it, Shinju?" he asked with a tone to borderline begging. "Why didn't you show up that day, our wedding? You disappeared! I- just, why? Please, just- just give me an answer. Did you fall in with someone else? Did you fall out of love with me? Just- please, tell me. I don't care for for your answer, just why? I've been searching and searching and searching since than, trying to figure out what the hell happened to you . . . and now I discover you, ten frickin' years later, behind bars and in a rag-tag outfit. The hell did you DO?"

Her eyes looked pleadingly up to Osmond. She didn't want to tell him the truth, for it meant having to remember and relive those moments she had desperately wanted to forget. They were locked away, masked over with lies and duct tape "Osmond, I-" The truth stilled on her lips. She just couldn't- "Osmond, I- It's not your fault." Her head bowed and ringlets of green fell like sun-dried seaweed. "I ran away, I- There was just a lot going on and I acted too hastily. I ran away. I'm sorry . . . "

Osmond shook his head. "Shinju, answer me clearly: why did you leave? You're dancing around the question! Just tell me! Why did you-"

"I don't know, okay!" Cetus suddenly shouted at him, tears streaming from her eyes. "I- I told you, I don't know Osmond! I-I was losing everything- The day I was going to marry you, the bank took everything I owned."

"What?"

"I filed for bankruptcy on SHELL, Osmond. I didn't have enough money to keep it stable because I spent it all on useless endeavors. Just spent it all on s**t. I-I was afraid of what the bank in Jubilife might do, so I ran away . . . And than I joined, Team Galactic."
PostPosted: Sat Feb 18, 2012 12:35 pm

Osmond's eyes fluttered upwards. "What?" he asked in disbelief. "You joined Team Galactic? The hell you'd do something so stupid-!"

"I couldn't help it!" Cetus cried. "They offered me help- a warm bed, a meal- Osmond, you just don't understand. That offer was like a pearl in the rough for me. I couldn't deny them, I just couldn't."

Osmond pursed his lips. "So, you've been with them since than?" he asked.

"Yes," she answered promptly.

"Was that you during the museum break-in?"

"Yes."

"The explosion at the Great Ball Gazette?"

"Yes."

"The mansion explosion and offing of an officer?"

Cetus swallowed deeply. "Yes."

"By Arceus, Shinju, you're sick . . . "

"I'm sorry."

"Would you STOP apologizing?" Osmond grunted and banged the table, causing Cetus to jump a little. "Did you ever consider the s**t that you did? Huh, did you? People were injured and killed, Shinju! You're an Arceus damn murderer! Do you EVER consider the crap you do, huh? Such as when you flippin' abandoned me? Did you ever flippin' consider what it did to me, huh?!"

He kept yelling at her, spouting mouthfuls of spittle into the air separating both of them. By the time he found a bit of solace, the table was covered in a thin sheen of his saliva.

"I searched everywhere for you, Shinju." he muttered in a low voice. "After the third year, I was convinced you were dead. I mourned you since than. I couldn't find comfort. Hell, I couldn't even move on, find someone else. You were my everything, Shinju. When you disappeared that day, so did my ability to smile earnestly. I loved you . . . and I still do."
PostPosted: Sat Feb 18, 2012 1:28 pm

"Osmond . . . " Cetus breathed. It had been so long and yet he still loved her? Had she made him suffer for so long? "I-"

Osmond held up his palm to her and she immediately silenced. "You don't need to say anymore." he added with the gesture. "I obtained what I wanted: an answer. I'll go get an officer to take you back to your cell . . . Thank you."

Adrenaline shifted in her, made her quick. Suddenly, she shot out from her seat and tumbled onto the table with her locked together hands outstretched. Shinju managed to grab onto his tie and tugged, forcing his backward and into an awkward lean onto the piece of furniture. Cetus crushed her face to his and in the midst of the moment, their lips intertwined.

Warmth radiated within her center and made her heart flutter. The brash gesture nearly made her giggle, but it left her content to feel her ex-fiance respond. He had always been a bad kisser, falling as stiff as a statue without any thoughts on responding. He neither moved his mouth nor reached to embrace her any time they kissed in the past. But their romance was an livid as the kiss they shared now: silent, unbearable, but existent and undeniable.

At least he closed his eyes every time.

When their lips parted, Cetus could admit she was mildly upset. With no contact with another man for so long, it is no surprised she missed such simple gestures. "Don't fret," she breathed against his lips, drowning in the mercury of his glance. "I've always loved you. Always. Not an hour went by without me regretting the mistake I made that day. I shouldn't have left you, I know I shouldn't have . . . but I can't go back in the past. Not yet, at least."

Cetus's words confused him, but having her so close awakened his avaricious side. He locked his arms around her and embraced her close, smoothing her hair with his free hand. "Don't leave me, please." he begged.

She pressed her face into the bridge under her neck, kissed it tenderly, than sighed. "I can't promise that," she replied. "Nineteen hours. By than, I will have to return to my duties."

"I-I won't let you, I won't let you get away again . . . !"

"I'm sorry. By tomorrow's evening, I will be gone."
