User Image Kishi had been traveling with Prome from a few days now and it felt like she had known him for longer she was that comfortable. Laughing she watched as he tried to catch the bug that was annoying them both with its buzzing and zipping into their faces. Each day brought them closer to where Prome lived, it didn't look good. She watched the male with the corner of her eye to see how he was handling the ruins they passed deeper into his homelands.

" Do you want to call it quits for the night Prome? It is getting late and it wouldn't do as well to wander around in the night. Maybe some food? Water? and shelter?" The sound of thunder boomed off in the distance as if to warn off the possibility of travel.

Dejected.

One look would bring that word to mind when they looked at him. Finding his home in ruins like this, no traces of where the pride had gone, only destruction and scattered ocean treasures. It was hard. Thoughts on if his family was okay, how long ago this has happened, and what he would do now occupied all of his mind. It took all he had to just keep himself standing, let alone able to speak.

So it was no surprise that when, Kishi had said something it took several minutes to properly string together his thoughts in order to reply. "That..." Green-Gold eyes looked over at one of the old dens. His family's den. "...We should sleep there. I always found..." he stopped for a moment, feeling himself slipping, his words wobbly. It took all he had not to burst into a sobbing fit.

"...I always found that den comfortable."

Prometheus couldn't bring himself to tell her it was his old home, but perhaps the images on the walls his family made would tell her for him, so long as they were not washed away.

Passing Kishi, almost in a haze, Prometheus went into the den, scanning the area, taking in the smells. The old pelts and dried grass were piled in a corner from the waves, wet and holding a awful musk to them. He would need to remove them before they slept.

However, eyes looked upward at the walls, seeing if the images of his family were still on the walls. All he found were half images, he could make out his family, himself, his siblings, his mum and dad. But if he hadn't known they were there, it would be rather hard to figure out it was of him and the family. Would Kishi figure it out?

"I will remove the pelts. It will be a moment."

Setting out to work, Promo worked quietly and quickly, letting Kishi take in the sight herself.

Kishi found her own eyes water at the emotion behind Prome's words. It really was heartbreaking to see and she found her tail dropping along with her ears. " Alright Prome," She said softly and tried her best to comfort him the only way she knew how; a side hug. " Let's go settle down." She looked around ignoring the lingering smell of mold and show the interesting markings along the wall as well as the pelts. She turned back to here his words.

" Would you like me to do anything?" She asked tentively a little unsure before looking around once more. This place looked like it had been well lived in. " These markings on the wall are interesting." Kishi squinted her eyes. " Though I can't make out what they are trying to say."

Allowing his body to be held softly by Kishi, Prometheus let his eye close and just sighed one shaky breath. He didn't really need to speak in order to convey his emotion. It was all out in the open, and he could barely hold it all together. He did though, through insane amounts of determination he had kept himself together.

"No, it is fine. Enjoy yourself, Kishi." Leaving to remove the last bits of stinking bedding, Prometheus took in a few deep breaths of his old home. He couldn't stay here, he knew that. The damage done was something only a deity could cause. He was no match for such a thing. Watching the clouds as they started to give weigh to the rain, Promethus moved back inside.

It was when he had come back from removing the pelts that he lost it. She was interested in his family portrait without her even knowing it. He would have loved to show her what it used to look like, and have her meet the family. This... this...

"...That is my.... my.... my......." Sobbing he couldn't get the words out, or at least, not until he looked at her. "....My Family."

' Oh how heartbreaking...' Kishi moved closer and held the male with purring loud in comfort. Nuzzling now and then she looked over his shoulder to peer at the pictures. "They look like a lovely family," She whispered calmly as she took each one in turn before turning back to wipe away stray tears. She moved him down to a laying position and snuggled near. Kishi didn't really know if he liked it or not because she never experienced this sort loss. When both of her parents were gone she had been so young, she barely remembered them. " Would you like to talk about them? Or is it too soon?" Maybe talking about them would make the pain seem less...or not. Kishi hoped she was atleast helping.

A loud boom rendered the silence making her jump a little, and she looked wryly outside the cave while nervously saying, "That sounds awfully close."

Continuing to cry there, mourning the death of his family, Prometheus allowed Kishi to comfort him. To him she was barely there, and yet a pillar of strength as well for him. Has she not been there when he had discovered this place... He surly would have drowned himself in the very oceans that claimed his pride. "Kishi..." He barely whispered her name, staring at the ground for several minutes.

This was all too much, and having to rely on someone he only just met. It was so rude of him. As a loud cash of lightening resonated through the air, Prometheus was made to look up and towards the entrance.

"Indeed." What deity had they angered to cause such destruction? It seemed almost continual, as the rocks and dens of some of the families he knew barely showed gave signs that something lived in them. "Something is angry... I do not understand why... but this.... this is obviously a test." Looking at Kishi, the yellow maned lion watched her face, then abruptly broke the silence. "I am sorry I made you come with me... you are probably disappointed or regretting it."

Her ears twitched at the sound of her name softly coming from his mouth. " Listen Prome, I do not regret nor am I disappointed in meeting you, it seems to me fate made me run into you the moment it did. A sign for me to comfort you which I willingly will give." She smiled wavered as another clap broke the air. She frowned outside and stuck her tongue out at the nasty weather for interrupting before turning back to him. " I am a giver and hardly a receiver, it's just in my nature to be this way. I don't mind being here for you during this time at all."

She snuggled closer while purring in part to comfort him and part to gather warm which seemed to be coming off of him like a furnace. "A test you think? Huh, how unusual I never thought of it in that way. I just always assumed it was our ancestors playing too loudly up in the heavens." She turned her head to smile lightly with her eyes closed in Promes direction. A grumble came from Kishi's stomach and a blush crept along her face. "U-uh sorry about that."

As he watched her stick her tongue out at the weather, Prometheus couldn't help but smile softly. That was cute, and what was more, she was still happy she had met him. If he was in the same situation... well if it wasn't her he wouldn't be as happy. But if it was her, he would be the same way. Probably. Why, though? He honestly didn't have the answer for that one.

"I wish I could think that way more. I am a bit... critical of others. Thank you though, Kishi. You're teaching more things than I ever could have learned as a seeker." Eyes wandering up at the markings on the wall, Prometheus suddenly had a idea. However, it involved going outside to find the supplies. Picking himself up, he took one more look at the wall then at Kishi. Why not leave his den with better thoughts, instead of sadness. This was but one chapter ending, leaving the rest of his book ready to be read.

"Sorry to move so abruptly, I realized I should find something quickly. Also... You do seem a bit hungry. We could probably find a few crabs in the tide pools if we hurry." Leaning over to lick the lioness' nose lightly, Prometheus moved towards the enterance. He could mourn the loss of his family and home more when they got back. Right now, it was time to survive before the storm came.

"We must hurry now, the storm is almost here."

"Oh hey no worries there hun I'm just happy that I met you is all. Yeah its been a bit sad but you outweigh the sadness a million times over." She winked over to him before watching the dark clouds cover the land faster than before. She jerked when he stood up quickly and curiously listened to what he had to say. She licked her lips at the thought of eating delicious crabs, well they sounded delicious. "I've never had crabs before-" She broke off with a shocked squeak. Kishi stared off in a happy daze for a few minutes before his next words shook her awake from her mental vacation.

"U-uh yes!" Just as she stepped outsidethe heavens opened up and began its heavy down pour. Kishi blinked her eyes as water ran down her face. "Um." Her words were garbled and then she tossed her head back to laugh with abandonment. " Will these crabs still come out if its raining? If so lets do it! You have to run in the rain once in your life!" She nudged her wet shoulder into Prome flattened mane.

The shocked squeak was well worth the awkwardness he might have felt if she would have ridiculed him for licking her. However, it was the dazed, happy look that really got to him. She really did seem to enjoy his company, something he for some reason needed to be reaffirmed in. "Then you are in for a treat."

Shivering as the water rushed passed him, harder and harder it came down. Hopefully it would let up soon. However, it did help him too. Crabs and other salt water creatures would surely be coming to the rocky tide pools now to seek shelter from the harsh rapids of the ocean. This was perfect!

"I couldn't agree with you more. And don't worry, you will be getting lots of crabs today. They enjoy the rain and water." Dancing away from Kishi, Prometheus laughed softly. Yes, all he had to do was enjoy his time here. It was time to start a new chapter in his life. Perhaps a chapter with her.

Looking back to his partner, he eyed her wet sloppy fur and laughed. She looked like a different lioness with all that fur hanging down. It was absolutely adorable. He would surely have to help clean her up when they got back, however now... he would hunt. Searching the rocky pools, Prometheus waited for movement. There, there was something. Quickly flicking his paw in and out of the pool, a large crab was flung into the air, and right at Kishi.

"Look out!"

Kishi had been looking else where at the time but jerked her head up when she heard Prome shout a warning. Gasping watched in shocked horror as a crab came sailing at her face. In autopilot she batted the seacreature quickly in another direction. Frozen and breathing heavy from the fright she stared down at the pissed off crab that was failing on its back. " Oh, that certainly got the heart pumping." She let out a shakey breath before looking over at Prome, her smile just as shakey.

She watched as Prome dispatched of the sea-creature quickly. " How about-" She blew her floppy hair out of her face or tried too. "-we head back to your current home and eat. I'm starving and quite honestly tuckered out."

"Doesn't it now?"

Laughing loudly at Kishi's reaction, Prometheus gathered a few more of the succulent crabs before picking his water logged body up off the ground. Four for Kishi, and four for himself. She would have to carry her own though. Those crabs had too many spines even for his mouth to handle carrying eight of them. Piling the sea creatures neatly in a pile, Prometheus looked back to Kishi again.

"I think that would be for the best, yes. We have enough here to eat like royals. I will grab these four if you grab the rest."

Not waiting for the lioness to agree, Prometheus grabbed his share and started off in the direction of the den. He had found his stone while hunting for crabs as well and would now be able to creature the picture he had wanted. Him and her, the last memories the den would have of the old family that lived in them. Perhaps one day that would become the very spot for a new family when the oceans calmed again.

Dipping into the den, Prometheus dropped all his items onto the sandy ground then looked back at Kishi. "I think you will enjoy these guys." Shaking his fur out harshly, the golden-maned lion smiled lopsidedly. He had to look like an idiot all water logged like that... but at least he was another someone who looked similar.

"I feel like I drowned and came back to life!!"

Kishi playfully stuck her tongue out at his sass before joining his laughter with her giggles. "Mmmm, no kidding. Alright sounds like a plan." She nodded her head before bending and picking what Prome couldn't carry. She mumbled out a few words before finally using her paw as a gesture for 'lets leave' when she say the confused look upon Prome's face.

Kishi flinched a little at the stray droplets before she herself gave a great shake. She felt her fur puff out as all the water was shook away and turned to see how Prome was doing. "Oh my~" She giggled before moving closer and sitting down. " Here let me help you with that." She hummed a tune as she groomed his mane gently as well as patted down any stray hairs. Nodding her head in satisfication at the accomplishment Kishi turned around to try to get a fire going. A trick she had picked up from a passerbyer. It wasn't long before the cave warmed up, their food was cooked, and the storm let up. A yawn escaped before she could stop it. A sleepily contented smile crossed her face when she saw Prome was already sleeping. Kishi eyed the fire to make sure it wouldn't spread during the night, it looked just fine. Stretching one last time she wandered over and nestled against her male for warm as well as comfort.
