Who : Luka and Xiu
Where : 7th Annual Lamp Expo at the Barton Expo Center
When : Past noon around 1PM
Weather : Cold winds, and dark skies for the past few days

It was nasty weather in Barton today with temperatures in the low 40s and the sun hidden behind dark clouds for several days. Most of the town’s residents were spending the day in except for a select few who had personal matters to attend to.

Pulling the thick coat around his body tighter, Luka quickly shuffled past the mass of bodies into the large building. His ears, nose and cheeks rosy and numb from the wind’s chilly bites. It was nasty weather outside, the skies dark and foreboding. And frankly, the Satyr wouldn’t even be out right now had it not been for the fact that his guardian had errands to run, and he was tired of simply feeding on those boring old lights at home. Not to mention, the nourishment from those lights were simply not enough. He found himself feeding every few hours, and even when he was done feeding, he could still feel hunger gnawing at his stomach.

And reflecting his lack of proper nourishment, the boy was haggard in appearance. His skin was a pasty white, lacking its usual healthy glow and even his hair was missing its shine and volume. Not to mention, his eyes were a dulled down gold, heavy with bags and even his rune seemed to be having a hard time, pulsing weakly at a dim glow. His guardian had voiced his concern for the boy’s appearance, urging for the boy to feed more or to find an alternative source. And though Luka had tried, there had been few results.

Taking a moment to get his blood running, the Frei paused to read the giant sign hanging only a few feet away from him. Welcome to Barton’s 7th Annual Lamp Expo! it read, the letters printed neatly in black against the wall. A lamp exposition was definitely dull by his standards, but this… this might just be exactly what he needed today.

Floating into the main room, Luka let out a small gasp to find a large room bustling with people at various stands with different lamps. In fact, there were so many lamps. The ones he’d seen were only the tiny ones in Elai’s apartment. These… there were colorful ones, especially bright ones and even large standing ones. Eagerly making his way down one of the aisles to an unattended booth, the Frei crouched lightly to make eye contact with the lightbulb. It was surprisingly bright, brighter than the ones his guardian kept. The lamp’s light dimmed considerably though as the Frei began to feed. It was better… but still not quite what he was looking for.

Eyes laced with hunger, the Satyr made his way further down the aisle to find a more promising food source. He'd only just fed, but the hunger in his stomach had only grown.
