For the first time in a while, Super Sailor Remarque was not excessively grumpy about the weather. It was still a bit brisk from the winter chill, though tonight wasn’t cursed with a frigid wind or any snowfall. For the first night in a few, Remarque could clearly see the moon. Not that it was doing him any good; on most nights, he preferred absolute darkness. It was easier to sneak up on someone and drain their energy when they didn’t even see you approaching.

Kind of took the fun out of things, but at least it was efficient.

He had spent more time gazing at the stars than he had draining energy—something he was trying to remedy as the evening dragged on. His targets had been sketchy nobodies, of which—instead of dragging them into mirrorspace—after draining them to unconsciousness he’d just left them slouched against a building. As he perused the area, he moved quickly, not wanting to waste any time—even if it was a beautiful evening. Not throwing people in mirror space made him feel like he needed to up his quota; though he was picking targets from down dark alleys, he wasn’t exactly being discrete about it. Already had one person seen him and run off, though they hadn’t returned and the police hadn’t shown up, so Remarque made absolutely no effort to hide. He had found a sleeping homeless man, who was already easy enough prey; effortlessly he had summoned his mirror wraith and was boredly leaning against the concrete wall of the alley while he waited for it to finish collecting energy from the man.

The evening was surprisingly refreshing for the amazonian senshi. Maybe it was partly because she was able to enjoy weather that was very different than back at home, or because she knew that the night would only get warmer as the sunrise approached but Vesta enjoyed every moment of it. It was an exciting thing to see snow littered in the shadows of the city, making the night more beautiful than ever.

Walking on the edge of a building, her eyes scanned the empty streets below. There weren't very many people wandering around any longer, just the mindless animals that made Vesta feel bad for the animals.

As Vesta stood there thinking about the animals being stuck outside, a strange sight caught her attention. Why was someone running away with a fearful look on their face? Could it be negaverse or one of the dark moon senshi that she's only recently learned about? Vesta needed to find out what was happened, for the sake of the people. Jumping down onto a dumpster, it took mere moments for the running redhead to arrive at the scene of the crime.

Stand there in the dark alley way was a senshi draining a poor helpless homeless person of their life. That jerk looked like he was bored out of his mind, leaning against the wall like this was the most normal thing around. He was killing someone, right in front of her eyes. Dashing in his direction, Vesta stopped close enough that she could see him better.

"What are you doing? Killing a helpless person, I thought you guys had better taste than that." She spoke loudly, her fists tightening into balls as her ruby eyes glared at the man.

There was a sort of shame in having a senshi of any level sneak up on you, and while Remarque had been aware of order aligned auras in the area, he hadn’t been paying proper attention to them. Vesta’s appearance surprised them, though the only outward display of such was how quickly his eyes snapped to her.

“Killing?” he prompted, scoffing. “I’m not killing anyone. Just borrowing some energy. It’s not like he was putting it to good use, anyway.” Remarque held out his mirror shard for the wraith to beckon it back; he didn’t want to risk Vesta getting any bright ideas and attacking the fragile thing. The tiny creature seemed to have drained the man largely of his energy; he was still breathing but was otherwise unmoving when the wraith skittered back into the shard Remarque presented.

In one fluid movement, Remarque tucked the shard safely away and devoted his attention to the red haired senshi. A sly smirk slipped onto his face. “If you’re so against me draining his energy though, you could alwys offer some of your own, you know.”

This was the first time that Vesta had ever seen a Dark Mirror Sailor actually harvest the energy from someone, it was something repulsive and strange in her mind. She wasn't use to seeing something so brutal, so weird, and something somewhere wearing a sailor uniform should never do. She really didn't like what these 'people' stood for, it just made her want to snap some sense into them. Of course, that wasn't going to happen any time soon but she still didn't like it.

"Of course, you weren't going to drain this guy down to the last drop... you would never do that." Vesta nearly hissed in her words, rolling her eyes as she watched this man with a frown on her face. Flipping her thick red braid over her shoulder, Vesta could care less what tiny thing just vanished into that mirror shard he had. To her, she knew so little about the Dark Mirror scouts that anything was possible in her mind.

As the Remarque smiled a sly smirk towards her, Vesta's lips turned into a signature frown. "I want to see you try." She wasn't going to let anyone have any of her energy, especially someone like Remarque who stole from a poor sleeping homeless guy. She moved quickly, starting to run towards him ready to try her best at punching him right in the face. He looked like he needed a black eye, and Vesta was more than willing to help him out.

There were many reasons why Vesta’s attack did not intimidate Remarque. The first was the most obvious—the difference in their power level. The second was that, as a senshi and a boxer, he was used to people charging at him. The third was that she was a girl, and he had never met a girl who could throw a good hit.

If he’d had any sort of chivalry, he might have hastily declined a fight in lieu of her gender, or at least tried to be a bit more passive. Remarque didn’t care what gender she was, though, not when it came to throwing punches. She was a warrior and had better be damn well aware of what she was getting herself into if she was powered up. And if she wanted to punch him, fine. All he wanted was a little energy and to be on his way but—fine. He could play that game.

He stood, waiting for the senshi to get closer, and made no apparent effort to run or defend himself until she was in arm’s reach. He lurched forward, in that moment, ignoring any damage he might be leaving himself open to in favor of delivering a punch to her stomach.
