The semester officially started on the 12th though I just had my first class today. Biochem at 1:25 in room E305. That's exactly where I was at that time. I walked in and the class was pretty small but, that wasn't unusual. It was a bit weird that I didn't see any faces that I knew since a few people said they would be taking the class again but I figured they had changed their mind and it was just a new batch this time around. So I sit down and pull out my paper and pencil and then Dr. Matthews walks in. This confuses me because, as far as I know, he's the organic chem prof. So now I'm sitting there confused because Dr. Reed is suppose to be the prof but then Dr. M says something like "didn't know I was teaching this class until yesterday". So now I'm thinking, "Oh! They just traded places." So I'm okay again, just sitting there and smiling because I like Dr. M as a prof. But then he starts to talk and I get confused again because it's not sounding like biochem talk. After a few more seconds, I know it's not biochem talk. Someone walks in late and Dr. M asks him if he's there for organic or biochem. At that point, I know I'm in the wrong place. I raise my hand high and when he's done talking he calls on me. I told him I was there for biochem. He tells me that he switched rooms with Dr. Reed and that my biochem class is across the hall. So I gather up my stuff and make my way into the right class. I haven't sat down in the wrong class since my freshman year, lol. After class was over I went over and apologized to Dr. M for disrupting his class (he's a wonderful teacher and extremely nice but he's real ticky about stuff and I didn't want to be on his bad side). We both laugh about it (because I was excited, thinking I was getting him as a prof) and he says it's totally fine because it wasn't my fault. Apparently an e-mail got sent out to the organic students about the switch but us biochem people were left in the dark. Dr. M had stepped into the class earlier to tell the biochem people where to be but I got there like on time and not a moment before so I missed the announcement.

I have to say that I have been lucky these past semesters. I haven't sat down in the wrong class yet, since I go looking for the right one like 30 minutes before hand, and I'm pretty grateful for that. I would hate to be the awkward one to get up and admit to the whole that that I was in the wrong place. It's not a bad thing, but I just hate awkward situations like that. But we can only learn from mistakes. I think that's messed up that you were not notified of the switch though
