I currently study MMA/NHB combat and have found some stuff on Kyokushin. Being somewhat skeptical towards karate and its overall concepts, this form interests me and has even been seen in the UFC effectively, I want to learn more about this style and maybe get some personal feedback on the effectiveness of this style.

As far as sparring goes it definately seems to be one of the better Karate styles out there.
Personally i'd go for Muay Thai as it's much more effective with less restrictions.

The only problem Kyokushin has is the lack of face punching. Other than that, its a sound style.

I see, well that sucks, seems alll karate has gotten watered down to the point that i can no longer have respect for it, o well.

I was under the impression that kyokushin competitions generally don't allow face punches, mainly because they don't wear gloves and all.
