After they had made their way back to the reaper dorms, Hel wasted no time in ushering Mot back to his room, where she also got him to get into a change of warmer clothes, and then she proceeded to bury him under blankets, both from his room and hers. Oh, and to top it all off, she made sure that in his hands there was a steaming hot mug of apple cider too.
Satisfied that the cowboil was on the road to getting warmed up, it briefly left her to ponder what now. What had just happened to Amity was fresh, only a few hours ago had the glass shattered, freeing them to the rest of Halloween once more…what were they to do now? Cope…survive…get better and carry on. Hel sighed. Actually, the more she stared at Mot, the more she got a feeling he could…use a pick me up…maybe it was time for…that.
The valkyrie slid off of his bed, from where she was perched next to him, and spun on her heel. “…Hey…I will be right back, alright?...I…uh…am going to go get something else from my room.”

Mot usually tried to stay upbeat. He never wanted to burden others with his worries and doubts. With Hel, his walls usually came down, and it was clear as day that he was troubled. It was always one thing or another. Amityville students lately always seemed under attack. Ever since the haunted House, it was downhill.
The reaper had let Hel usher him this way and that, until he was soon in his warm dry pajamas, under a mountain of blankets with a welcoming cup of hot cider to warm him up from the inside. It helped, it really did, but the boil was spent. Mentally. Physically. Spent.
He stared forlornly into his beverage, sighing once in a while. He was tired of fighting for his life. That horrible feeling the fog had left him with wasn't going away. Those voices seemed to haunt his memory,
Mot glanced up as Hel asked to excuse herself a moment, nodding lightly and turning back to his drink.

A frown pulled at Hel’s lips as she looked back at the cowboil. Yeah…he was really down…and maybe she should have been too, but that just wasn’t her way. Her gear was stuck on ‘go’, and what better way to not get down than to keep moving? The reaper quietly left the room, and back into hers with a mission.
About fifteen minutes later, Hel stood outside of Mot’s door with the most troubled expression.
This was stupid.
Hel looked terribly unimpressed and unenthused as she stared down at this…this…frilly mess she was wearing. The sleeves…the poofs…the ruffles…the frills…the lace…Oh Jack. Yeah, she felt really dumb. Would this even help to cheer him up in the slightest after what they went through? She was seriously starting to doubt it now. She groaned, and then looked down at the large wrapped box in her arms. Well…there was that at least. Oh well. She tried. With a sigh, Hel pushed some of her free hair behind her shoulder, and opened the door. She wasn’t surprised that Mot was still where she left him…staring down at the cup too.
She quietly padded over, fighting off the feeling that this was still really stupid of her, and stood on front of him. She cleared her throat softly. “…I know it is only Christmastival Eve…but um…after what happened…I figured we could at least use another…um…good memory to end the evening.” She was talking about the present. Not the dress.

Mot's head lifted as she returned, fully expecting her to be as she was when she left. However, not only did she have some kind of gift, she was also... in a dress.
Hel.
In a dress.
Mot blinked, looking her over in bewilderment, his lips parting as his jaw seemed to almost drop. Asking why wasn't the first thing on his mind. He didn't care why. She looked.. beautiful. He didn't register much of what she said other than 'good memory'. His head bobbed up and down in a nod, that surprised expression still plastered on his face.
"Uh...Did I die?" He asked seriously.

Well then…that bewildered expression was certainly different than the one he had been sporting for the past hour or so. Hel wasn’t sure if it was a good or a bad thing when his lips parted, and the poor boil looked like he was going into shock. Her brows furrowed at his question. “…Uh…I do not believe so? I do not think you did…even while we were separated…” What did dying have to do with the dress, anyways?
Hel shifted from foot to foot, and then held out the large wrapped package to him. “…This is yours. Happy Christmastival Eve, Mot.”

Okay. So he wasn't dead. This wasn't some strange dream or illusion. "Oh.. so you're real." He met her eyes and spoke sincerely. "You look lovely."
The reaper flinched as the gift was held out to him. A present? For him? Mot seemed in awe again, gently setting the mug of cider down on his nightstand and taking the gift from Hel's grasp. "...you got me a present.." He murmured softly, a small smile forming on his lips.
"I started to make something for you.. it isn't complete yet though."

Hel scoffed softly with amusement. “Of course I’m real!” She replied, and caught his eye. At his compliment she couldn’t help but blush a bit, and maybe she pushed the present at him a bit harder than necessary out of embarrassment until she took it. Once her hands were free, the reaper settled onto the edge of the bed next to him. “…Well…of course I did! It is Christmastival…and you are my…boilfriend…” It still seemed unbelievable to address him as so.
At the mention of something he was making though, the reaper perked up considerably. “…You are making something…for me?” A smiled pulled at her lips. “Oh…that is more than alright!” Mot was making something for her. Cue euphoria, right there.

He was her boilfriend, yes. Mot smiled shyly, gripping the present firmly before setting it down on his lap. Since himself and Hel tended to act so normally most of the time he often forgot that he indeed had himself a ghoulfriend. That title had his heart pitter pattering in his chest.
Well, Mot couldn't wait to see what he got! The reaper tore at the edges of the wrapping until the box was accessible. Lifting the lid off, he stared down inside the package.
"Woooah..." His eyes seemed to light up, pulling out the jacket inside. He knew looking at it that Hel must have made it herself. He knew her handiwork. It was so incredibly detailed, even lined with fleece to keep him warm. He needed jacket, being fresh out of anything intact. As he scanned the entire garment, he noticed the edges were frayed in a way that looked purposeful. What a bad-a** addition!
"Hel, this is amazing!" He said excitedly, a grin forming on his previously sullen features.

Her feet swung back and forth a bit as she watched him unwrap the present, and her eyes scanned over her handiwork briefly before returning to watch Mot’s expression.
She wasn’t disappointed.
Her lips pulled into a small grin. Yes, she knew she was amazing, but she loved hearing it, kay thanks. Her grin widened. “I am glad it pleases you!” She replied sincerely, happy to see some kind of expression returning to Mot’s face in light of what had happened. “…Heh…that was suppose to be your birthday present…but ah…after what happened on the field trip…and well…as of late…I think it is most fitting to receive it now.”

Mot continued to admire the jacket, unable to bear putting it away just yet. He'd put it in the closet but, that involved leaving his blanket cocoon. Not happening.
"Really? Wow, I am getting it rather early then." He chuckled, giving the garment another look before gently settling it back into the box. He was mildly embarrassed to be needing a pick me up. Hel was strong and always on the go. If only he was more like her. "Thank you, Hel." A smile graced his face, endearingly taking in Hel's appearance.
"Did you want to wait until I put the finishing touches on your present before showing it to you? It's nearly complete."

A chuckled echoed from her as well. “Ah yes…quite a few Octobers early…but ah…that is more than alright.” Now she needed to figure out what to do for his birthday…oh well…something she’d figure that out later. “You are most welcome, Mot!” She returned, and when she was given a chance about whether she wanted to see her present now or not, the ghoul looked torn. See it know because she was terribly curious…or wait until it was completely done.
“…Now—er…later no wait….I think no----nooo…maybe when you’re finished? But ah…I really want to see it—er…but if you’re almost done…” Ugh. Hel scrunched up her face. She got tongue tied. “…Up to your discretion, Mot, I will go with whatever you want to do.” There. Ah…speaking of presents…she wasn’t done yet either. Hel now looked sheepish. That other gift she got for him…now she felt really stupid. Why did she get them? Oh…because they really caught her attention and refused to let her go. Also because secretly, deep down, Hel was a closet romantic…and the thought of having ‘his’ and ‘her’ phone charms just tickled that inner closet romantic. Yep, she felt lame.
“…I uh…” She seemed reluctant. “Have um…one more gift for you too…”

Mot chuckled at Hel's indecision, pinching her cheek playfully. She was so cute. Not that he'd say that. She hated the C word. "Okay then. I can show you now. It honestly just needs a couple adjustments."
His brows raised. More presents? "Really? Gosh, you spoil me."
The reaper set the box aside, crawling to the front of his bed with blankets still piled on top of him. He fished something out of the drawer to his nightstand, pulling out an object wrapped in leather. He shuffled his way back to Hel, crossing his legs on the bed as he faced the ghoul beside him. "For you." He said shyly, holding out the object.
Inside the leather cloth lay a wooden ocarina, carved carefully with half finished vine patterns decorating it's surface.

Hel wrinkled her nose at getting her cheek pinched, and wiggled in her spot upon being told she could see her present now. Ooh…she was really excited to see! Mot made it…hand made it. She was crazy about hand made things. “Spoil you, huh? Well, I do find the activity enjoyable.”
The ghoul tilted her head as she watched Mot move to his nightstand and then pull something out. She found it adorable how he offered it to her shyly, and she couldn’t help but gingerly take it into her hands and than place it on her place. Carefully the ghoul pulled the bits of leather cloth away, and once the object was revealed, well, Hel was blown away. This had been the last thing she was expecting.
Her eyes went wide as she stared down at it, the leather cloth falling from her fingers in shock and awe. It was an ocarina. A lovely, wooden ocarina that he had handmade for her. Her lips parted, and after another moment her fingers came out to gingerly trace the vine pattern that adorned it thus far. The ghoul sucked in a breath like the air had been knocked out of her, and her head then whipped up to stare at Mot, still wide eyed. She opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out, and her gaze then snapped back to the ocarina. Her thumb brushed over some of the smooth wood, and back to Mot her attention went.
“…It’s beautiful.” Her voice cracked.

Mot anxiously awaited a response, fidgeting with his hands, the hem of his shirt or pant leg. He bit his lip once the gift was revealed, not so much worried about a bad response but it was unnerving none the less. He had put a lot of effort into it. He'd carved things before, but nothing as intricate as an ocarina.
He began to smile bashfully, seeing Hel so blown away by the gift. "Th-thank you." Mot answered nervously, still playing with the cloth of his clothes. "I've tested it a few times, and it seems to work okay. Give it a shot."

Hel cleared her throat, and was smiling widely now as she stared down at the ocarina. “No, I should be the one thanking you…this is…the most wonderful thing…anyone has even given me before…” Her thumbs brushed over the wood again, and then she looked intrigued. Give it a shot? He tried it before? Her smiled curled up even more. Mot’s mouth had been on this…heee. She got thrilled about the weirdest things.
The ghoul placed her fingers over the holes and brought the instrument to her lips and blew, lifting up one of her fingers as a note played…
She squealed.
