Kialio walked near the borders of the pride, enjoying the morning sun on his dark fur. He was sure he would resent the sun later in the day, but right now it was very pleasant indeed! He shook out his gray mane and smiled at nothing in particular, letting his tail drag across the ground as he walked. It was nice that his home was in relative piece once more, and that all was, well... Good, calm, safe.

With a sigh, he jumped up on a smallish termite mound so he could see just a bit further, check his surroundings for any prey to hunt today, or people to talk to.

When the great and mighty rock had come into view, Danzi had let out a sigh of relief. Now... It was the tedious task of actually... REACHING it... Like a mountain, Pride Rock never seemed to get any closer, no matter how long they'd walked. At the border, the younger Navale had departed, leaving with a mysterious-seeming black and white lioness. He somewhat worried about what those two were up to, but Kimiko had reassured him. The dark lioness was one of what had to be many nieces by one of her half-sisters. He wasn't sure if that comforted him or not. Regardless... It felt good to be across the border. "I hope you're ready for this, because there's no turning back now..."

The white lioness, recovered much in the last several months of walking, lifted her head high. "I may not be a real princess, but I have manners and tact enough to not mention things that would be rather detrimental to life here." She offered him a smile, then nudged against the orange male as they walked. "Besides... I'm honored simply by being able to be here... I just hope I'm not judged for crimes I didn't commit..." The worry sat at the back of her mind that someone, somewhere in this pride of many faces, would know her sire's name and judge her based purely on her blood. She'd rather have judgement passed on her character. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting the winds greet them, bringing the smells of many. When she opened them, she spied a shadow on a termite mound. "I don't think we're alone, Danzi..."

He looked over, spying the other lion. "Indeed we're not... I think it'd be good to go greet whoever it is." He turned, redirecting their path in the other lion's direction.

Kialio was actually a little distracted, somehow, by a view that didn't have lions to notice the two. A little ironic, really. But he did turn his head and manage to spot the pair before they got too close. It did seem like they were heading right for him, and at this point it would probably be rude to just hurry off. Besides, they might be rogues asking for help, or looking for a good home. Or they could be wishing the pride ill, and he should know of that!

So he hopped off the termite mount and moved to meet them half way. "Hello!"

Ears pricking, Danzi watched the other lion. A much younger lion, from the looks of it. Not somebody who'd know either of them, then. As they got closer, he cleared his throat a little, taking a breath. He momentarily stopped when he felt a nudge, looking at Kimiko and finding some reassurance. He let out a light sigh, smiling at her, then turned back to the other lion. "Hello! How do the Pridelands fare these days?" He wondered, who was currently ruler? The last he'd heard before he'd fully left was that Kamilika and her oldest daughter were missing. He hoped they were alright, wherever they were.

Kimiko, in the mean time, looked over the younger lion. The blue made her think of Navale for a moment, but it was a very pointedly different sort of blue from Navale's. Then the white lioness mentally shook her head, clearing her mind of the thought. "We've come... Home... As it were... And seek to rejoin the pride." She paused, then nodded at Danzi. "Well, he's rejoining, I'm seeking to join for the first time." A small smile appeared on her face at the thought. Home... It had a nice ring. Anywhere else hadn't felt so permanent, likely because she was always there alone. Now, she was going somewhere with someone.

Well, at least they seemed nice! He smiled at the older lion, and nodded slightly. "They fare... well. We're recovering from some trouble with the hyenas." He might be downplaying it a bit, but as far as Kialio knew these were just random rogues. No need to tell them about everything that was happening. Though this orange male seemed to know the lands already, thanks to his question.

... and that was confirmed by the female. Frankly, Kialio was a little taken aback by how straight-forward she was. And in an attempt to be funny and reference that, he smiled awkwardly. "And I'm Kialio. Nice to meet you." He shrugged, it wasn't a big deal. Just funny, that's all. But he supposed they were probably in a hurry to get settled in. The orange male seemed quite old! At least in comparison. And the white female looked like she had really been through a lot, judging from all these scars.

"I suppose I don't really have any authority to say yes or no." He frowned slightly. "But I don't think you two would be refused." That was honest enough. "If what you say is true, anyways, and it probably is. What are your names? And were you born here?" The last question was only directed at Danzi.

The male frowned deeply. "Was one of the hyenas a sort of... Bone-marked female, with a white mane and one eye missing?" Then again, that old sack of dung had to be dead by NOW. Especially with only one eye. He shook his head, more to himself. "No, she's probably dead by now... I'm Danzi, and... No... I wasn't born here, per say... My father was, but my mother bore me far from here. My father's blood pulled me here." He paused, thinking a moment. "If any of Kamilika's siblings are still around, or maybe even one of her other eight children, they MIGHT remember me." He couldn't recall, rightfully, if he'd actually personally met any of his second cousins. "Or maybe one of THEIR cousins...." He paused. "To clarify, last time I was here... Kamilika had gone missing.. Or so I heard, anyway." He shook his head. "I don't even remember if that was TRUE!"

Finally having enough, Kimiko put a paw over the orange lion's mouth. "You need to stop rambling." She then turned to Kialio. "I'm Kimiko." She left it short. There was no need to mention her lineage. She motioned with a paw. "I'm sorry about Danzi's rambling... He doesn't run into enough lions, as it were, and he's just sort of... Bottled it up." She nudged him with an elbow. "But no more rambling now, right? Great, good!" She then bowed her head to Kialio. "I don't suppose you could take us to someone in charge? So we can appeal to be able to stay here..."

"I couldn't say, but I didn't see a hyena like that." Frankly, he hadn't seen many hyenas. Just a few, because he had somehow missed out on most of what had happened. It made Kialio feel bad, so he didn't want to stay much on this topic. "Who was your father?" He asked curiously, but got distracted quickly enough with the other things Danzi said. "Yes, Kamilika went missing some time ago." He nodded. Kialio had never met the former queen, but had heard enough about what had happened.

"Her son, Simi, is now the king. Do you know him?" That would put the dark lion more at ease, even though, really, by how much the pair seemed to know about the pride nothing was out of order. He turned his attention to Kimiko, and nodded. "I understand." He meant the rambling. He didn't mind rambling, something about it made those who rambled seem friendlier, or something. "And yes, sure, I will take you." Kialio said, but wanted to hear from Danzi once again before actually starting to walk them in to the lands. Also, he wanted a few more seconds to think about who he could find at this time of day. Perhaps he could find Simi somewhere, but...

Danzi hesitated a moment, then, finally, he closed his eyes and sighed. "Taka. I had one half-sister who made it back to the pride, too, Tiah... Now I wonder if any of her children are either still here or came back. Last I'd heard, a chunk of them left the pride to go to the Outlands." He shook his head. "But please... Don't make that something common knowledge if we run into anybody." Unlike his half-sister and her family, Danzi held no desire for any kind of power. He just wanted to be a hunter for the pride. He was happy that way. He then tilted his head. "Simi... When I was last here... He wasn't the heir... I think the pride was still in turmoil when Kamilika went missing. It's been a while, but I can't remember if I've personally met him."

Kimiko let out a sigh, listening to Danzi's recounting of family. In a way, his asking her to be his mate made her feel like a princess... And yet not. His humble outlook on his standing within the family, in turn, humbled her. She'd be happy as a princess in nickname only. She couldn't imagine Danzi in a position of power, anyway. There'd been that time in the Firekin, when he'd been a lieutenant, but he'd given that up when the prides re-merged. "I think, Danzi, it looks like Simi took control of a chaotic situation. Things got hectic, he stepped up as the brother of the heir, and having equal claim to the throne as his other siblings in the same litter." She paused, glancing at Kialio. "That does make sense, right?"

Okay, Kialio admitted to being surprised that Danzi was Taka's son. But everything that went down with Mufasa and Taka happened long ago, and so, he really didn't have enough knowledge of the lion to be bothered by this news. He'd heard stories, yes, of how Taka was a generally unlikeable character. But as far as he knew... well, the lion was long dead. "Ah, alright. Don't worry, I was just curious. In case I knew him." He said honestly.

"Uuh... yes. I was born after all this, but from what I hear things got pretty messy for a while. But Simi is a good king, and his mate, Tufah, is a good queen. We are happy with them." Kialio nodded. "Right. I suppose we should probably get you two to someone who has more authority than I! Would you like a break, or just go right ahead?"

"Yeah, you'd... Never have known him. I never knew him. And unless Koho's still floating around..." He shook his head. "There's nobody left who personally knew him." He doubted Koho still walked the grasslands, though. He then bowed his head. "We should head off to meet Simi, then..."

"Indeed we should." The monochromatic lioness tilted her head. "There's no point in delaying the inevitable, is there?" She'd already decided what she WOULDN'T say to Simi - Like 'hi, my father killed your grandfather.' That'd be... Well, she'd be saying goodbye, more than likely.

The name Koho wasn't really familiar to him, so Kialio shook his head, amusingly enough, almost at the same time as Danzi did. "Alright, then. Let's go!" He said, trying to get back a more cheerful climate. The black lion only hoped he wasn't doing anything stupid, or out of bounds, but... he figured it was harmless enough. And the orange male was obviously a pridelander, when lying no one would chose to say they were Taka's son.

It made him happy, really. The idea of Danzi returning home after so long. Perhaps Kialio was a little silly, but it seemed like an amazing story. "Hopefully it won't take too long to find him." Kialio said back to the pair, as he turned and led them away.
