The stitched looking mare walked slowly onto the open plains. Her mind was filled with thoughts of adventure and where it could take her. Would it take her to the top of the tallest mountain? To some tar pits? To a mysterious oasis in the jungle? She didn’t know where anything would lead her, but just the thoughts of it made her excited. It made her mind come alive with visions of intrigue and this was what made her happy.
Smiling very calmly, she looked around finding various points of interest in the horizon that made her smile get bigger. She hadn’t been on an adventure in so long ever since she lost connections with her best friend. She had been trying to find her, but in the process ended up traveling so much she got use to it. Now without someone to travel with it was rather boring. Boring and lonely.
“Hmmm…which direction..”
She calmly said as he began to make herself towards a large oak tree. Oh how she wished she was a foal again so that she could climb right into the hollow opening, but those times were long gone.

Taja had been wandering aimlessly for days as she tried to find her footing in a world that seemed to have changed during her year of seclusion in the dark forest. Her depression was long over and now she was trying in desperation to find herself again. The task was thus far proving to be somewhat difficult but she had a strong resolve to do it. She wanted to be like her old self again, but better, more improved. After all, she had grown so much in a years time. She knew she could never be her old self, but she could be a better version of her old self, one that thought about things before doing them. Something a year ago she would have shaken her head about.
Smiling slightly she looked up at the bright sun that was shining above. A good omen for the day. Even though the ground was covered in snow their was not one sad bone her body. At least anymore. Finally coming to a halt Taja found herself in a foresty area, standing before a large tree with a slit in it's base. And then she noticed what appeared to be a blue mare with an intricate stitch like design that reminded her of baskets that the two leggers not to awful far from here made. Her smile faded for a few minutes as she checked the mare over, making sure she had not encountered one of the more evil and devious creatures she had come accustomed to seeing for the past year.
After several minutes of inspection Taja deduced that the mare was probably not as evil as she had first thought, a shy smile appearing once more on her face. "Hello." She said simply, walking up and standing beside the mare who was entranced with the tree. "It's rather interesting isn't it?" She asked, trying her best to make conversation. How long had it been since she had talked to another soquili? At least a couple months by her count. Who would have ever thought that talking to someone would be this complicated.

The stitched mare was deep in her thoughts, but not deep enough to where she couldn’t hear someone speaking to her. Turning her head, she eyed the other female seeing her natural colored coat and smiled a little.
“Hello.”
She spoke softly to the mare before looking back at the tree. It was interesting and if she was younger she would have already climbed it or at least tried to. It’s rather hard to do that when your older and have more body weight.
“It is..A rather interesting bit of nature that grew here. It’s very pretty though. Don’t you think?”
She looked over to Taja with another smile before shaking her head a little bit.
“I’m sorry..my manners get lost sometimes as well as my thoughts. I’m Aellai. What is your name miss?”
She asked examining the female more. This was her first new friend in this place and she was going to have to mentally remember the place they met. It was her way of keeping various landmarks still there in her memory since she was always moving around so much.
“Do you travel?”
She asked the mare as he began to walk away from the location. She didn’t like staying still for too long. It was boring and strain on her legs.

Turning her attention back to the tree as the mare did so she nodded. "I would have to agree with you there." She said simply, pondering just how it was that tree's could get so large like this. And beautiful. One thing could be said for the forest in which she had been residing in for the past year, it had some of the most beautiful and unique tree's she had ever seen in her life. Despite a lot of them being dead, or close to death, they each had unique attributes that made them special in their own way. Something that often made her wonder what they looked like before they had reached their point of death. Turning her gaze once more to the mare she smiled a bit more politely. "My name is Taja, it's nice to meet you Aellai." She said with a slight nod.
A small laugh, hardly audible escaped her muzzle. "We share that problem. Although, I haven't been in contact with others for quite some time." She said, trying to make it clear that this was hard for her as well. Any misstep in words could send this mare into a rage or full out run. And neither option sounded good to her.
At Aellai's next question she had to take a few moments to think, looking at her hooves for a brief moment then back up at the mare. "I used to travel quite a bit. But for the past year I was sort of out of touch with myself and stayed in one place." She answered. How could she describe it to her in a way that would make sense? "I think that I may begin to travel once more. This time a bit farther then I had before." Taja finally said with a firm nod. An adventure of some kind sounded like a good plan. Actually, it was extremely appealing. She had to take a deep breath in to keep herself from trying to plan out a course of action.
Taja was taken a bit off guard by the mare's sudden displeasure in their current spot and thus trailed a few inches behind her, not quite sure if she should follow or not. "Do you travel?" She asked, trying to get the conversation going again. This was the first time she had talked to someone in months, maybe longer. She wasn't going to let this opprotunity slip through her hair. "Are you from these lands?" Taja asked curiously.

“It’s nice to meet you as well. Wait you haven’t met others in that long? Does that mean it’s not a highly populated area around here?”
She asked tilting her head a little at the mare. She wouldn’t mind it if it was, but she did hope that she could have met others and made a lot of good traveling buddies. Maybe this mare would make a traveling buddy for her? She kind of hoped she would because she really wanted to see the different places around here.
“Do you want to travel with me then? Even though you said it had been awhile since you have…I think it’s the perfect starter for you to get back into it. We don’t have to go crazy and travel all around the world. What do you say? Me? I travel all the time. I don’t stay in one area for too long or I get tired of it. You know it’s like waking up everyday and seeing the same thing all the time or doing a daily routine.”
She nodded to her some before walking a little ahead of her. She really just wanted to find a very interesting place so that she could study it for some time. That intrigued her as well. She loved figuring out how things worked and what not.
“No I’m not. I actually came from a land very far away, but I lost contact with my best friend so…I went looking for her for years and here I am. It’s pretty here though. I was use to colder climates, but I loved the weather. A little cool, but still nice.”
She smiled as he looked over to Taja happily. For once she was going to not be alone during her travels.

Taja shrugged slightly at her question. "I do not know. I've been living within the dark forest for a year. Not many venture in there." She stated truthfully. That was the reason why she had liked it so much. Because the forest was just as lonely as she was. On the inside at least.
Her surprise at Aellai's question caused her to stop and stare at the mare for a few moments as she continued walking before a large grin grew over her muzzle. Someone wanted her around? Quickly picking up speed she caught up with her once more. "I would love to accompany you on this journey." She said, her legs trembling over so slightly. It was strange to think of herself traveling once more, being around others, being needed. Wanted.
"I'm so sorry you got separated from you're friend." Taja replied sincerely. "I have felt loss to. It's not a kind friend." She said, once more trying to be honest. "Maybe one day you will find you're friend and you're way back to you're home?" She stated, taking on a questioning tone at the end. Did Aellai want to return home? Did she still wish to find her friend? Would she really leave?
She quickly tried to shake the thoughts from her head. "Do you have a place in mind that you would like to see?" Taja asked curiously. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have a bit of an idea in mind of where they wanted to go. Then again, Aellai seemed to remind her of the breeze. How it came and went as it pleased, never staying for long. Maybe even more so a bird. Hm.
