Everyone that lives in the town is welcome in the Tavern, as well as all tourists. Werewolves are allowed to drink alcohol at the age of seventeen, however they are not allowed to drink inside the Tavern until they are twenty-one.

Weary from his travels, Kotarou stumbled in through the tavern door and slumped onto a stool at the bar before crossing his arms and laying his head down on top. Letting out a long tired sounding sign, Kota' gathered enough energy to lift his head back up and looked left and right for the bartender...

Isabella walked into the tavern, looking around for the bartender. There were no humans in the Tavern at the moment, so she sat down next to the other wolf there was there. "What do you want here?" she asked, hitting a bell on the counter. The bartender stepped out from behind a curtain and Isabella asked for a shirly temple.

Kota's ears twitched at the sound of another entering the tavern. Turning on his seat slowly, leaving his arms still resting on the bar top, Kotarou looked at who the other person and was stunned by her graceful beauty. However when she then proceded to sit next to him, Kota' could stop his tail from wagging slightly as he just stared at her, lost for words.

Isabella took a sip of her shirly temple when it arrived, and she watched the other wolf. "Do you have a pack?" she asked, trying a different approach.

Kotarou blinked and shook his head slightly. "N-No.. I don't. Not for 6 years now, at least." He replied, his voice sounding rough and husky. Shifting in his seat Kota' looked down at his arms and unfolded them before looking up at the bartender. He looked like he was about to say something, but didn't. He couldn't think of any drink to ask for.

"Would you like to take part in the Festival?" Isabelle asked, handing the other wolf a menu. Isabelle stiffened for a moment as the reason for the Festival pushed itself to the front of her mind. She shook her head fiercely, trying to push the thought of her mind.

"Festival? What's it about?" Kotarou asked as he half-glanced over the drinks menu before putting it back down. "You alright?" He added, catching sight of her shaking her head.

"The Festival is what we do to choose a new Alpha Pair." she said, choosing to ignore him when he asked if she was okay. Why would she be? However much she wanted to avoid the topic of her last parents death, Isabelle half-hoped that she would ask for the information about the last Alpha Pair.

"Choosing an 'Alpha Pair'? You mean, like a pack leader? Why a pair though? You can't have 2 leaders..." Kota' replied turning around in his seat so he was facing Isabelle, but continued to lean on the bar with one elbow, resting his head in his hand while he looked at her.

"One of them will take dominance." Isabelle said, fiddling with her drink. "I am the Alpha until the festival." she said, wondering if she should tell him why. Nah, he would probably ask.

Kotarou hadn't been expecting her to say that and almost fell off his stool when he jolted upright. In his mind, pack leaders where always male, but then he realized that a pair must been a male and female coupling. "Wow.. Really? You're one of the Alpha's? Who's your other half?" He asked. "This might be a perfect chance to test my strength in combat..." Kota' thought to himself with a grin. "I'd be able to prove my worth at last!"

"Nobody. I am an interim Alpha. The last pair gave me the Pack before they died." Isabelle said, her voice breaking a little at the end. I will not cry in front of him. she thought, blinking a little.

"Oh.. Right. So you say you're the Alpha untill the festival? But then why don't you just use the festival to find someone to join you and be your 'Pair'? Why would you need a replacement?" Kotarou asked as he stared intently at Isabelle. He'd caught the slight change in her voice as she ended her sentence and his ears kept twitching. Something was wrong... But he didn't know if it would be a good idea to ask about it. After all.. He was new to this place and didn't even know this girl who was so freely talking to him. A wolf without a pack.. An out-cast of society... But despite being hardened and determined from living the last 1/3rd of his life alone, Kotarou still felt a strong instinctive urge to reach out to this girl and comfort her. "But that might not be the smartest of moves.." He told himself. "You don't just take hold of a stranger, especially someone of such high rank like hers." He added due to his heavily disciplined respect on the ranking system being so strong.

Isabelle shook her head. "I am not the one the the Pack needs." she said simply. Taking a deep breath, she continued. "My parents were the last Alpha Pair and they died a few days ago. I am too unbalanced to be the Alpha right now. When I am older I will be the Alpha though."Isabelle felt better, having admitted to her parents death. "We were in the woods, and there was a bear. They died protecting me from it." she said simply and absentmindedly reached around to touch the scar that she had on her left shoulder blade. It was rough and bumpy under her fingers, and she sighed, ordering another drink from the bartender.
