It was that time again, where Ai would once again face challenges in the pit. She wondered who her opponent would be today. Lately she had been fighting against mokai that she hadn’t seen or met before. It was sometimes a relief, but other times she knew her opponents tactics well enough to counter them. She could only hope that this week would fare well for her.

JB was in a relatively pleasant mood. Both his mokai had ended up winning their fights the previous week, which meant more money he could pocket. When he was in a good mood, the whole Lindon household was too. However, the continuous winning just put more pressure on the young mokai to do even better. Ai didn’t know how long she could stay out as one of the top competitors, but for the sake of not having to deal with an angry human, she tried her best for the longest.

In the compound, she could hear the cheers already growing. When she would face her opponent, she would understand just why. It was a rematch that Ai was hoping would come, yet wouldn’t come at the same time. The only mokai to ever have beat Ai was who she was paired up with this week. Hopefully she would come out on top. She needed to, to make JB happy.
