Soon.

Soon he would be able to return home, to make his father proud. But how... The large male paced the tall grass under a acacia tree. How could be prove to his father that he was the right choice to become king?! How could he prove that? Then it dawned on him. Sons. Sons would prove that the gods smiled upon him and wanted him to continue his line on. While daughters were good as well, it was male heirs that could truly pass it on. His mind wandered to the two male children he already have. Their mother though, a mistress, nothing to him. They were b*****d children, but his none the less. With a sight, the leopard sat himself down on the cooler grass.

How he wanted to go home, but not yet. At least he had followers now. Perhaps they too would help convince his father of his rightful place as the future king. Others willingly followed him, though...not many. Henry's ears swiveled back, his frown growing more into a scowl at the thought of how small his following was. It wasn't nearly as large as it should be. He would have to work on that.

Pinot was not sure where exactly Noir had gotten herself off to. It had been some time ago the other leopardess had gone off in search of some water, possibly some food as well, however Pinot was now wondering if perhaps her until then companion had simply left her behind. The idea of it was certainly not one she would normally believe, but she rather pampered leopardess was quite tired of walking, thirsty, and the growing ache in her stomach was making her a bit more ill-tempered than usual. All the dust gathering in her fur was certainly not helping her mood any either. After a long time of thinking she finally pulled herself up from her shady resting spot, which was not something she normally would have been fond of doing, but after having waited for some time she figured she could simply find the water herself.

Unfortunately this feat seemed harder than she had originally thought. In addition to all her previous complaints, of which she had no one to voice them to, she was now alone. At least when Noir was around she could complain about all the problems and Noir might have some solution or positive thing to say. “Where has she gotten herself off to!” Pinot huffed loudly. “Wretched place we came to. No water to be found anywhere!” Granted she was not doing a very good job looking.

His head perked at the sound of what he thought to be...a female? And a rather upset one from the voices that his ears were picking up. Perhaps the gods had shined upon him and given him another chance for legitimate children. Sitting there would be no good! He had to act! Heinrich told himself as he rose onto his large paws and set out to find the owner of the voice. Perhaps she was just as good looking as her sweet voice sounded. If nothing else, maybe he could collect her into his following if she proved to be hard on the eyes. With that in the front of his mind, Henry followed the direction he had heard the voice come from while obviously holding his head high and his step graceful.

Weariness finally brought her to a halt, sighing loudly in a rather dramatic way. “Oh Noir, why can you not hurry back!” Just as she finished speaking her gaze fell upon a rather impressive looking leopard. She watched him silently for a time. He was quite good looking, and he certainly held himself well. Perhaps as good or better than some of the nobles from her old home. However they had been just that, nobles. This male however, as nice as he looked with her luck in men so far he was likely just peasantry. However whether peasant or noble she could not do to look so ragged in front of anyone. Quickly she brushed dust from her face with the tip of her tail before fluffing the fur of her chest and cheeks out.

With small smile she stood, holding her head up before calling out to the male. “Greetings, stranger. I do not suppose you know where a lady can find some water? My aide seems to have disappeared and this heat is dreadful.” She gave another dramatic sigh as she lightly fanned herself with her tail.

She came into view and...well she wasn't bad looking, that was for sure. To be honest with himself, she was actually kind of nice looking. Her coat was dark, powerful and strangely alluring as well. Perhaps the gods really had smiled on him. She held herself well, spoke with dignity. Once she knew who she was speaking with, perhaps she'd even have some manners. "Is that how you greet a prince?" Henry replied simply as he continued walking towards her at a leisurely pace, stopping several feet from her. "But if you are truly dying from thirst, then I am afraid you are out of luck, my lady. The nearest watering hole is almost half a day's walk from here."

Pinot’s head raised quickly as he spoke. A prince! Perhaps luck had finally come to her side. Instead of a nobody before here, there stood royalty, and a prince no less! Pinot sat up straighter, if it could have even been possible, and bowed her head slightly towards the male. “Of course not, your Majesty. I simply had not know, though by the way you hold yourself I should have realised. The dreadful heat out here must be getting to me.” Pinot bowed her head once more,a small smile playing across her maw. “It is a pleasure to meet you, your Majesy. I am Pinot.”

A small sigh escaped her at his final news. “Oh dear, that is quite a distance to go then.” She silently contemplated sending Noir after it, but so far away it was unlikely the water would make the trip back even assuming Noir was even able to find something to carry it in. “Then either I shall perish out in this terrible place or will have to go find it.” She continued to fan herself with her tail, gaze shifting upwards towards the sky as she mused. After a moments silence she looked at the leopard male, the small smile back on her face. “I do not suppose that you would be willing to escort a lady there. Such a dangerous place out here, and I am sure any fiendish beast thinking to do ill towards my person would think twice with you in my company.”

There was a proper greeting. She seemed to be of noble blood or at least was taught proper etiquette, perhaps a lady-in-waiting? Regardless, if she could pull this off perhaps... Henry returned the bow he received with a polite dip of his head. There was no way he would bow to another he just met. "And I am prince Henry. Your rudeness towards me is forgotten. Now! But of course I would be willing, lady Pinot." How could he not escort her after telling her that he was a prince. Besides, it would give him a chance to better get to know her as he only knew her name. Pinot, a sweet yet somehow bitter name at the same time. He liked it.

Not only had she found a prince, but now he was to be her escort while she looked for water. She wondered where Noir had gotten off to, but the thought was a fleeting one as she stood. “Your Majesty is quite kind. I know I shall feel much safer travelling with someone such as yourself.” She stood, making sure to keep her chest puffed out and holding her head high. “If I may ask, what is it you are doing out here?” She asked, taking a couple slow steps forward. Surely a prince had better places to be than in the middle of nowhere, unless of course perhaps his situation was something like her own? Or perhaps he was on some sort of quest for glory, or revenge. Various other ideas popped in to her head as to why he was out here.

Oh how he hoped this wasn't a bad idea, escorting her that is. Her question came as a bit of shock to him, but at the same time it wasn't much of a surprise. "Traveling. My father appears to think I have not matured enough to become king. I aim to prove him wrong...in time though. Now, we have plenty of time to chat, but we really should get a move on." And with that said, Henry began to move towards the direction of the last watering hole he had passed.

“I see.” Pinot said no more as she followed after him, though she could not help but continue to wonder on his reasons for being out here. Not mature enough to be king? Curious situation. Her ears flicked back for a moment and brow furrowed, wondering what it was he had done to be seen as too immature to be a king. However her expression changed back to it’s previous one, not wanting to make him suspicious lest he look back. Curious situation indeed.
