[Just.. She's an Adolescent in this RP too] Nephthys moved quietly behind the brush, keeping an eye on her prey from afar. orange eyes large and waiting as she moved closer and closer. She hadn't much training in the hunting but nonetheless she was good at it. Almost as if her instinct was there when her family abandoned her. Her tail flicking just slowly, at the end. She hated hunting at dusk but it was the only time she didn't bake in the sunlight or have pesky vaulters flying over her kills. It had been a day since she ate and though a smaller femme. She was still growing.
As the antelope moved to raise his head she growled under her breath and snapped forward for the kill. Taking it down with ease. Hanging her head over her kill after the large chase. A pant growing in her lungs. Because of her size she had to fight more to get males down, happy that even though hot headed her older sister had taught her to hunt the elders. She grew steady as she began to eat. Keeping calm but her ears perked up in case of any strangers jumping her. She was humble and kind, but lately her spirits had fallen. Not everyday when your parents and older siblings up and leave you while you're sleeping. Waiting days to see if they came back. After weeks they never return.
Whether or not they left or had died was always the question in her head. But never answered. Closing her eyes as it passed through her again she huffed into the air around her. She felt useless when it came to thinking about her family.

Abandoned wouldn't be the word for his situation.
Shans had been one of only two offspring born to his parents. His sister had been a little headstrong, but loving in her own way. Both his parents had doted on him and did what they could to see him growing up into a young lion that they could both be proud of. He was, however, an oddity.
His parents were both dark-coated, his sister had a dark coat, and from what he'd been told, ebony coats had been the genetic trend of his family for generations. He had been born white. Pure white with bright pink eyes, a pink nose, and an intolerance for the light. As a cub he had hung close to his mother, refusing to leave the den except by force. Even then, he'd be left in the sun crying about how it hurt his eyes, how it burned his skin, and the reflection off the snow that touched their lands hadn't helped. They hadn't been trying to be cruel, they had only wanted Shans to know what it was like to be a normal cub. Playing with the other cubs in the snow, pouncing on birds, and enjoying himself. By the time they learned that his complaints were legitimate and not an excuse to keep close to them, he had already lost half his sight.
He stumbled about, ran into rocks, and often times his sensitive skin had been burned, visible only around his nose where the fur thinned out. They had felt terrible and even his sister tried to encourage him out of his brooding.
It had been a loving cubhood and he really had no reason other than to want to show his parents that they'd done well by him that he'd left. It wasn't meant to be a permanent thing, but Shans soon lost his way. Landmarks became blurs, some so bright that it upset his eyes. He traveled mainly by night when it wasn't so bad, but at times there was no shelter to hide in during the sunlit times.
This was one of those times.
He was hungry, dirty, sunburnt, and miserable. His eyes were squeezed shut against the glare of the sun and his paws brushed the ground with care, feeling his way forward and listening for any sign of danger.

Feeling the chance of another being around she looked up from her eating, blood dripping down off her lower jaw as she licked to catch it. Her eyes flicked around and though a growl lifted in her throat she steadied herself and stopped after smelling the scent of.. Unclean Lion.
Poor chap. Was all that came to mind, she looked around and saw no hyenas or vultures to take her feast. Instead she just moved towards the sheer scent of the lion. Something smelt burnt. She could see the declining sun behind his silhouette not long after. When she saw him move slowly she stood her ground but called out to him in care.
"Are you alright..?" She was about to call him sir till she noted his not-fully grown mane. He was about her age, maybe a tad older. She had taken notice his eyes and his nose. She called out again. "Are you.. alright? You don't look it?" She was steady but she tapped a paw on the ground. Maybe it'd help him find her if he wanted to get some help with that.

Shans gasped and lifted his head. Wide near-useless eyes scanned the multitude of blurs and dark shapes for the source of the sound while is ears darted one way then the next. The stranger called out again and the second time he managed to turn in its...her? direction. Her narrowed his aching eyes and took a cautious step forward.
"Who's there? I don't want trouble, I'm just passing through."

Neph's eyes moved with his white body. Her head tilted to the side lightly. "I will not hurt you stranger. You just seem hungry and I have a kill not to far from here that is to large for me. I am a rather small lioness. And am willing to share amoungst those hungry." She called out to him.
She steadied herself on her paws, instead of teetering between paws. It was her way of being shy. To show motions was her way of telling those around her that she was awkward to the situation. "My name is Nephthys.."

The lion's expression flooded with leery suspicion. No one just offered a free kill like that where he'd come from. His parents had, of course, but it was an offer extended to only their offspring- himself and his sister. Anyone else guarded their kill dangerously. Of course, this wasn't his homeland. There wasn't a n** in the air and actually the sun, if possible, was far more merciless here than he remembered. It was hot, miserably so with his thicker coat.
"I...I would appreciate that." He cautioned a slow approach, his ears laid flat and his tail tucked. "...ah Nephtys-", Not an easy name to say, but not an unpleasant one either. "I'm...Shans."

She chuckled as he stuttered over her name pronunciation. It was kind of cute, shaking her head, she grinned at him. "You can call me Neph if that's easier for you. My dad used to just call me 'Hey Lady.' Since Nephthys means lady.." She eye rolled about her father, even using a lower-toned vocal to mimic her dad's voice.
"Shans.. Well you look very bent out of shape.. And it looks like you need a cool bath and a good couple of days out of the sun.." She glanced at all his sunburns. "I could tack that onto the bill for you if you want?" She was joking.. Well.. Whatever a bill was. It seemed like the proper word. "Are you ill of sight? Your eyes are very pale.."

"Neph then...", He sighed, relieved that he'd not soon face the embarrassment of butchering her name. It was only a matter of time with him. His family was used to shorter names, even then they tagged each other with nicknames here adn there to make things a little easier on the tongue.
He winced and took a shy step back as she made her observations- all of them correct. He'd kill for a nice soak and a few days away from the torment of the sunlight. Reality, however, had dictated that he press on. "I...I would appreciate some help. If it's not too much trouble." He frowned a little and gave a shy nod. "I....I can't see well...especially in the daytime."

Smiling as he said Neph. She liked it a little more, but the fact he even tried to say her full name in the mean time was nice. Not many tried, mind you not many knew her. "Well you're in luck then." She looked at the setting sun and then moved to stand beside him. She was definitely much smaller then the mountain lion. She wasn't a juve, but an adolescent like he was. She didn't look like she could be any threat, though she was well lined with a huntress' muscle tone. Even at a younger age.
"I'll show you where the kill is.. and then bring you to an oasis.. I've been in these parts for some time. You should get a good soaking while it's dark out." She hummed lightly and nosed his shoulder very lightly. "Do you need help walking towards it?"

Shans was starving.... the meal sent his stomach coiling and groaning eagerly and he winced at the discomfort it caused. He'd not had much as of late. It had been far too long since he'd had a good leg or even a half of ribs to enjoy. The offer of a meal, from a stranger no doubt, was pleasantly unexpected. Even if he was walking into some sort of a trap, he could care little. A swift end would be preferable to a slow one due to hunger.
He leaned against her side, his head forward as his eyes tested the darkness. He was going blind, not going crippled, but the sad truth was that he needed a guide.
"So long as you stay close, I can follow."

"I won't leave your side." She was in a concerned stage now. Why would she be concerned about the well being of a random male though? Maybe it was only because of his state. However she kept those questions to herself. Maybe this was why she was abandoned? Did she care to much about those around her. It seemed silly to be left behind.
Nevertheless she kept beside him and then stopped after warning him she was stopping. "I'll be right back, you just stand or sit here. Or laydown if that's comfortable.." He said in a quick tone and then she grabbed a limb from her kill and pulled it off. Passing him some meat. "What's a lion like you doing all the way out here? You look worse for wear alone.. Do you not have a family?" Did his family abandon him like her family abandoned her? "O..Or a Pride for that matter?" He definitely acted like a pride lion.
