"It is time!" Amira said to herself. She had grown so much personally, but still had so many unanswered questions. She needed to know more about her family, her grandparents, anyone. She needed to know. Was there something in her past that cause her nightmares? Amira knew small tidbits about her family, and always recalled some sort of royalty, but never got the true answers.

She had been separated from her family for so long. Too long. It was time to go back. She knew as a young foal that there was one that would always talk to her. The one. her father. she knew he had to have the answers, or at least some advice.

Amira remembered faintly the area that she grew up. She was sure that her family would still be there, at least her parents. She had prepared for this journey for some time, at least mentally. She ruffled her wings, and prepared for the journey. While not a long one as far as distance was concerned, it was a long one mentally. She ruffled her wings, and made here way to the forest area that she used to call home growing up.

Arctic moved carefully through the trees, ears cocked for any out of place sounds. Patrols were typically uneventful but lessons learned at a young age told him to never let his guard down. This time a threat wouldn’t be his mentor and the encounter wouldn’t end with a pounce.

The near silent rustle of wings signaled Frost’s return. Arctic glanced up as the snowy owl glided overhead. Relief flooded though him at the lack of hummingbird. If Phoenix was still with Aaricia then all was quiet within her patrol area. His greatest fear was something happening to one of his children and being unable to help them.

After one more look around and hearing nothing that shouldn’t be there he continued along his chosen route. His final destination was the river that he and Aaricia used to mark the ends of their patrols but he still had a lot of ground to cover before he reached it.

As Amira reached the familiar area, she listened more intently for any signs of movement. She landed on the ground with a soft thud and she folded her wings down. She took a deep, but quiet breath and she wandered around a bit. She had hoped that she was on teh right path, but a small part of her feared that she was completely off, and her family had moved on without her. She never wanted this to happen. Amira never intended to be so separated from her family, but she learned so much about herself.

As she walked, she noticed a path, which seemed to have been recently walked. It was a well worn path, so Amira decided to take it. Whether she was going to a beginning or and end, she was not sure, but she would soon find out.

Flying over one of the many paths through the forest Frost spotted movement. Landing on a branch of a tree slightly in front of the mare he was startled to see a winged tiger. “Are you one of the Prince’s offspring? The youngest daughter?” he called once he judged her to be in hearing distance.

Arctic wove his way through the trees wondering where Frost had gotten to. He wasn’t worried about the owl getting lost; he had always been able to find Arctic much to the stallion’s annoyance when he had been a colt hiding from his teachers. He was concerned about what the delay meant as the owl had gone to check one of the more used paths.

Amira stopped suddenly in her tracks as she heard a voice. She glanced around and saw no others near her. She wondered who was talking and where they were hiding. "Hello" she called out before noticing the owl in the forests canopy. She listened as the owl questioned her, but Amira was still unsure if the owl really was talking to her, even though there was no other near her.

Amira was uncertain about what the owl was talking about. She questioned herself, "Daughter of a prince?" Was all of this that she had wondered about true? This was the first sign that it very well could be. She was in her childhood home area, there were not a huge amount of winged tigers, at least from what she has seen.

Amira finally answered, cautiously. 'I am Amira. I hope I am not intruding on your lands. I came to find my father, Arctic." she said. "Do you kow of him?"

Frost laughed softly but not unkindly. “Know of him? I was often his babysitter when he was a foal.” He looked her over surprised at the amount of purple on her. It was the most purple he’d ever seen on an ice tiger. “Welcome home little princess, your father will be happy to see you. Come I will take you to him.” Not waiting for a response he launched off the branch and flew into the trees.

Arctic examined the strange animal track he had found. Deciding that it wasn’t the track of a skinwalker he started to move on but stopped at the sound of wings. Peering through the trees he relaxed slightly at the sight of Frost. “I knew you’d have no trouble finding me.”

Amira was shocked. She didnt know what to say, or even if she could say anything. Knowing that her father was so close to her made her feel many emotions. She was relieved that she had found him, or at least very close to him, but was scared at the same time. What would he think of her leaving? Would she get answers to her questions that she would expect, or would he close up" She knew deep inside that he would be open and honest with her, it had just been so long.

As the owl flew away, Amira took a brief second to compose herself, calming her form the excitement and the nervousness. The owl took off, but Amira had some sort of idea where he was going, so she followed the way. It was almost here, the moment she had been looking forward to for a while.

Arctic watched as Frost landed above his head. He raised an eyebrow at the lack of response; the owl rarely missed a chance for a verbal spar. Following his gaze he blinked in surprise at the flash of purple among the trees. It was too soon for Artemisia to have arrived; his sister wouldn’t rush for anyone, not even their mother, let alone him. Getting a better look at the approaching mare he stared. “Amira, is that you?”

As she approached, Amira's nerves started getting the best of her. She stopped for a short second, took a deep breath, and moved on. In that brief second that she stopped, she had lost sight of Frost. She hoped that she was going in the right direction still.

Just as that thought crossed her path, she heard something. Something very familiar. Something that she had wanted to hear for quite some time. Amira picked her head up higher than normal as she looked around for the source of the sounds. Just then she saw him. "Daddy!" she yelled excitedly. She galloped over to him, even though it was a short distance. As she approached, she lowered her head a bit to give him a nice nuzzle. She wanted to spend a few minutes just standing with him

Arctic retuned the nuzzle with a dazed look. He couldn’t believe that Amira was really in front of him. It had been so long since he had heard any news of her that he had begun to fear the worse. He stepped back and looked her over. She looked healthy and didn’t seem to be hurt, no new marks that couldn’t be accounted for by everyday life.

Tears glittered in his eyes as he continued to stare at her. “How are you? Have you been eating enough? Being carful at night?” He nearly snorted at himself; this was what Shiya referred to as his mother hen mode usually with the reminder that they already have a mother thanks.

Amira gave one more nuzzle before stepping back. She could see the tears welling in her father's eyes, but didnt want to draw attention to it. If she did, he might notice the same in her eyes. She was so happy to be standing in front of him again, and it was difficult to hold back her emotions. She didnt know how much she truly missed her family, but now standing face-to-face with her father, she made that realization.

Amira saw her father give her the once over, and giggled a bit. "Yes daddy, I am fine!" she added as he looked over her. "I am doing fine!" she answered. "Does it look like I am eating enough? And I surely dont have any injuries or scars!" she giggled in reply to his questions. His question about being careful at night did catch her off guard though. She wondered for a split second about her nightmares, and if she really did meet whatever was haunting her. Amira shrugged it off right now, as she had plenty to be happy about. After all, this conversation would come out in time.

"How have you been?" You look like you have been taking care of yourself!" she added.

Arctic glanced up at were Frost was pretending not to listen to the reunion. “I’m wonderful; your mother has agreed to marry me. You will come to the ceremony won’t you?” he asked his enthusiasm diming a bit. He wanted all of his children to be there, to witness their parents make the promise to be together for life. Lifemating was rare among his kind and considered something to celebrate. The whole clan would come together and while his exile meant he couldn’t have the clan his eldest sister was coming to oversee the ceremony with their mothers blessing. “Your aunt will be there, have I ever told you about her?”

Amira wondered what her father had glanced at, forgetting again about Frost. She wasn't used to having a 'follower' per say. Suddenly Amira froze. She had no words to say at all. She went from awestruck and excitement to being curious. She wondered about what he had said for a few minutes. She just stood there for a few minutes.

As Amira stayed quiet Arctic started to worry. "Sweetheart are you alright?" he asked gently nuzzling her. He stepped but and regarded her, his concern increasing.

He shifted as Frost landed on his back to peer at Amira.

"Can I get you anything princess?" Frost asked starting to worry himself, in his experience it was never a good thing when ice tigers stayed quiet. The last time it had happened was right before Arctic had announced he was choosing exile over an arranged marriage.

As Amira kept to herself for a few moments thinking, she heard the abrupt sound of Frost landing on her daddy's back. "Oh," she said, "I am fine." in response to Frost's question. "It's funny that you mention marriage. I was just thinking about it. We have never talked about marriage yet." As she went to continue on, she realized that she was talking about Amenophis again, the one she loved with all her heart, but they had never discussed marriage, and thats what kept her in silence, and worried the two. "I am so happy for the two of you." Amira replied to the earlier statements. I will definitely be there. I want to see the rest of the family and catch up with them again." Amira figured that she could touch on the aspects of her life later, after all, she didn't have plans to leave anytime soon.
