This is a fanfic I've been working on for some time; thought I'd get it out to where people can see it... it'll start out interesting.... and get more interesting... or so I hope; please don't post comments in here, though. Feel free to PM comments or put them into the comments of my profile, however.

Location: The Realm of EdeniaJade exhaled slowly, her black hair falling over her dark green eyes, as she laid the newborn with black hair and startling golden eyes in the crib not far from the 300 year old Kitana, who looked like she was seventeen. Kitana sat up in her dark blue nightgown, blinking. "Is that my brother?" she asked. "No... he is one who may turn the tide against Outworld, if we are fortunate enough to gain enough time for him to mature," Jade replied with amusement, thinking of how Outworld had won nine Mortal Kombat tournaments. If necessary, I will get Kitana and Queen Sindel to assist me in sending him away; hopefully, Sujin will not have to worry about it, she thought as the dark green and teal nightrobe rustled in a slight breeze that blew through the cracked arched windows.
Unfortunately, her fears became reality within months. She got Queen Sindel and Kitana as well as a group of their most powerful sorcerers to ready a teleportation and binding spell that would transport Sujin away and bind his powers until it came time for him to use them. To her shock, minutes after they'd started the spell, one sorcerer went down with a blade rammed through his chest from behind before a Tarkatan, one of the twisted hybrid nomads of Outworld, bared its two inch fangs at her. She promptly decapitated it with a blade she unsheathed from her dimensional pocket before hurling it at a second who had gone at Kitana's back. A prismatic blue aura ignited, lighting the runic circle they used to bind Sujin's powerful abilities before a fireball slammed into the center, detonating in chains of hellfire which killed all but one of the sorcerers while leaving Sindel and Kitana unconscious. Jade herself was knocked backward brutally from the attack and lay stunned as she saw an elderly man in a dark red robe similar to a kimono lift the sorcerer by his throat as a green aura of soul magic engulfed them both. To her shock, the sorcerer's tanned and muscular body withered and paled, becoming but a skeleton of its former self before the man, now with a long grayish white beard hanging over his chin and throat cast it aside. "Shang Tsung...." she murmured as she passed out.

Location- Konohagakure no Sato, Elemental Countries Minato Namikaze frowned as he glared at the Kyuubi approaching Konoha. His gaze softened as he let his gaze drift to Kushina's deep crimson hair and violet eyes as the kunoichi held his son in her arms. "You know I wouldn't use the Shiki Fūjin unless there was no other way," he said comfortingly. Kushina snorted. "I won't be alive forever, and if you use that, you'll leave Naruto an orphan," she said weakly. Neither of them noticed a brilliant flare of greenish teal light, though Kushina's eyes darted toward its origin within seconds. "What was that?" she said softly. Her eyes drooped as exhaustion began to take its toll on her, though she felt Minato pull Naruto from her arms, which made her eyes snap open. A flickering burst of gold made her bellow Minato's name in fury. Her eyes narrowed, then widened as she managed to roll onto her side, seeing a ripple of green light before she noticed the toddler, who looked no more than six or seven months old sitting up on the rooftop and staring at the Kyuubi. She saw a ripple of white before a chūnin she recognized as Yūhi Kurenai landed near the toddler. She groaned and fell back, passing out as she did.Time Skip- Four years later... Sujin Yūhi tilted his head as he sat up, the black cargo pants rippling around him. His golden red eyes narrowed slightly as he snapped his hips, rising to the balls of his feet. He saw a group of men yelling and cursing the 'demon' as the blond he recognized as Uzumaki Naruto darted around a corner. The dark grayish black shirt and long black jacket he wore covered most of his muscular yet lean frame. For a four and a half year old, he was surprisingly muscular and intelligent. "Damned villagers... can't tell the difference between the physical prison and the spiritual prisoner," he muttered. Most, including the woman who had raised him, called him a prodigy when it came to shinobi tactics. It was true he was extremely skilled at ranged combat and stealth as well as Taijutsu, though his unusual chakra had made chakra control tricky at best. His bare feet slid slowly as he sighed. Yūhi Kurenai had raised him as his mother, though Sujin was far from stupid. He exhaled slowly as he focused his mind, releasing a pulse of chakra through his body which immediately dissolved into flickering sparks of green flame and mist as he used the Shunshin no Jutsu to teleport. He knew, unlike the normal form of the technique, his was true teleportation, though it did have limits. He materialized in a swirling gust of greenish teal flame between the gathered mob of villagers, who carried pitchforks, butcher knives, and torches and Naruto's shuddering body. His body unconsciously took on the stance of Hapkido stance as a faint smirk flashed over his face in the growing firelight as the villagers stopped not ten feet away. "Get away from the demon so we can exact vengeance, boy!!" one villager yelled. Sujin snorted. "Vengeance is a never ending well... are you that eager to leap into it's darkness?" he growled. "Reiyu Kage no Fūin: Kai," he whispered as he felt the seal placed on him at birth shatter. Almost immediately, a detonation of greenish teal flame exploded ten feet in the air, pulses of green rippling light traveling over the ground; without realizing it, Sujin's actions accelerated the Shiki Fūjin's absorption, making Naruto convulse as his body became wreathed in bluish flame as his chakra increased fourfold.

Sujin's body shifted, one hand flicking upwards and sweeping across as the flames dissipated with a low thumping sound. "If you think that Kushina's going to let you do this... you're mistaken... that is if you're fortunate enough to flee from me," he said quietly. He glanced back to see a few ANBU simply standing in the shadows. He noticed one's violet hair flicker for an instant in the moonlight before Kushina herself materialized on the rooftop. "The sad thing is... I only need a single attack to make you idiots flee," Sujin said softly in a low voice. A faint smirk flashed over his face before he shot forward, the five year old's standing vertical kick lifting the man who had spoken nearly ten feet up off the ground. He materialized almost instantly as he wrapped arms around the man's hips and simply drove the man's skull into the ground, cracking his skull and jaw in the process before he let go. As the man collapsed writhing on the ground. "Could you have made it more obvious where you were when Naruto slipped out?" Kushina said wryly as she leaped over, kicking one man in the chest as she slammed the ring on the end of the hilt of her kunai between a man's eyes, dropping both moaning on the ground before she landed in a crouch next to Sujin. Sujin rolled his eyes before he replied. "I was at home, when these idiots chased him by the house; kaa-san was in the shower, so I decided to make it clear that I was tired of them shoving their heads up their asses every year they get drunk.... oughta break the damn sake bottles over their skulls to knock some sense into 'em... but that would waste good sake," he said wryly in reply. Kushina laughed under her breath, though she didn't miss that Sujin's chakra was fairly pulsing in the air around him or that her son was sitting up, shivering.

Kushina sighed as the Sandaime caught two of the civilian attackers by the scruffs of their necks. "Man... I don't know what jutsu that was you used to signal us, but it seems like one that could be useful," she admitted. Sujin chuckled softly. "Kekkei Genkai," was all he said, glancing at the ANBU designated 'Neko', the ANBU with the violet hair, for a second. He saw Kushina's eyes widen as his form simply and apparently burst into flames before dissolving into nothing. He smirked as he crouched on the rooftop a few houses down from his mother's as his keen hearing picked up a rumble of thunder in the distance. He tilted his head slightly before leaping from rooftop to rooftop, slipping into the window as he saw the door slide open. It was rapidly followed by billowing steam.

Kurenai, clad in a dark blu towel with a creamy white streak on the end, tilted her head thoughtfully. "What were you up to now? I sensed that chakra flare like a light for a few seconds," she said warily, crossing her arms over her chest with a pointed look. Sujin cocked an eyebrow, a small smirk flashing over his lips. "I've awakened something that was bound... though I have a feeling it will start something nobody will expect," he said softly. Kurenai looked skeptical, but shrugged with a fond smile. He knew she hadn't commented on the fact that by shattering the Seal of the Ghost Shadow that his physical form and mind had visibly aged by two years. He glanced out of the window at the incoming storm and sensed there was more than just the momentary rain coming. Time Skip- Seven Years Later... Sujin opened his eyes, sitting up on the bed as he leaped off of it and clung to the wall before somersaulting off into a crouch. He wore a black top and dark gray pajama bottoms, though he quickly slid on the weighted body armor that covered his whole body over it and slid on the black boots that held a dark blue streak up the center of the toes. The streak faded to a deep teal at the edges, though one would have to look closely to notice it. He slid on the black and navy top, which hooked into the belt around his hips; he stood 5' 4" tall, a few inches taller than most of the other would-be Genins that would also be taking the exam. He slid on the mask, which covered his mouth and nose and matched the streak in his boots. He exhaled slowly, a burst of icy mist escaping the slits directly in front of his lips as he half turned, unsurprised to see Hiraigushi Tenten crouching on the windowsill. She wore a pale pinkish white blouse over dark brown cargo pants. "Fancy armor," she said with a half smile. She was one of his closest friends, though she wouldn't be taking the Genin Exams with him as she'd passed the previous year. "Let's just say it's unique... like you and I," he teased her. A slight blush stained her cheeks in return as he tilted his head slightly. His finger brushed over the camoflagued button as he watched her push off and somersault to the ground before he followed with a short running start into a somersault out of the window as a familiar beat pounded subtly in his ears.

Sujin dropped off the roof of the Shinobi Academy and swung into the window with a fluid twist of his body. "`Bout time you got here, man!!" Kiba Inuzuka said heartily. The dog sitting on his head barked in greeting, though Sujin gave no outward sign he noticed it. Kiba yelped as he was lifted up out of his seat courtesy of a wedgie by the seat of his pants. "Damn it, Kuai!!" he yelped, using Sujin's seldom known first name as the ninja dropped from the ceiling, smirking under the mask as he swatted Kiba playfully in the back of the head. "You know I hate being reminded that I'm just as much an orphan 'round here as much as Uzumaki," he said dryly as he sat on the desk casually. His form exploded like a water balloon, soaking Kiba and the violet haired Ami next to him as a low chuckle escaped the Sujin at the desk in front of Uchiha Sasuke. "Hey, duck a**.... what duck sat on your hair last night?" he said wryly, insulting the Uchiha deliberately since he enjoyed needling the Uchiha. Sasuke just grunted as Naruto darted in with a huge grin. "Sujin-baka," he said cheerfully, teasing his best friend and adopted brother; they were close enough that the way they acted around one another made them seem like siblings to those who didn't know them.
"Took ya enough time, Sushi," Sujin said idly, teasing Naruto since his name could be translated as 'fishcake' or 'maelstrom', the latter being the truth. Moments later, a screeching rosette and blond collided in the doorway, yelling about 'Sasuke-kun'. "I swear... the way they act, an icicle would be more receptive to their ministrations than the Uchiha," he muttered. Naruto snickered as a man in a grayish green vest came in with a scar across the bridge of his nose, followed by a man with longer grayish blue hair and calculating eyes. Umino Iruka and Mizuki were the Chunin Instructors and would be administering the Genin Exam.

Sujin basically ignored the would be kunoichi, his gaze on the gray haired chunin. I don't trust him any more than I trust the Uchiha at my back, he thought. He yawned as each student came back, most coming back with a hiate-ate headband with a leaf on it, though the girl Ami did not. He frowned ever so slightly when Naruto came in, looking downtrodden as his own name was called. He smirked ever so slightly as he went into the next room. "All you have to do is Henge into the Hokage, then Kawarimi with anything in here, and create three Bushins, and you pass," Mizuki said through gritted teeth. Sujin tilted his head slightly, showing no sign he'd heard them as a smirk flashed over his lips beneath the mask, though he knew neither of the examiners could see it. Someone cleared his throat, looking pointedly at both of them from the window; the older man's beard was gray, while his brown eyes were amused as the reddish orange and cream robes rustled slightly. "H-hokage-sama!!" Iruka stuttered for a moment. The Hokage smirked slightly before being enveloped in a burst of smoke to reveal Sujin, still masked. "By the way..." he said idly as Mizuki growled, hurling a kunai at him before it hit him in the chest before puffing into a chair that fell onto the floor with a clatter. Simultaneously, both Iruka and Mizuki yelped as kunai brushed the backs of their necks, held by two clones. A few moments passed before they and the one in front of the examiners dissolved in showers of water, though he knew it would surprise them that the Mizu Bunshin had gotten little wet other than a couple of patches on the floor. Iruka blinked, his gaze shifting to where the kunai had impaled themselves just between them. His jaw dropped for a second as he realized that the kunai were actually their own rather than Sujin's. He tossed Sujin a hiate-ate as he nodded slightly, walking out of the room.

Naruto's jaw dropped when he saw Sujin walk back in with a hiate-ate. "Damn, now I'll be the only one who ends up staying next year again," he groaned. Sujin snorted softly. "I kinda doubt it, if my gut instinct is right," he said quietly as he flopped down next to his adopted brother. Naruto blinked as his brother removed the mask, letting the messy midnight blue hair with black tips fall around his shoulders and temples. He missed the momentary look of mingled jealousy and interest that some of Sasuke's fan club shot his way as he grinned at his closest friend. He exhaled, rising to his feet as he lifted his hands, a faint misty aura of greenish teal chakra swirling around his hands. "I advise getting up... quickly," he said quietly; he wasn't really surprised to see most of the new Genin do so quickly, seeming interested in what he was going to do. He pushed his hands forward and apart at the same time. He saw more than a few jaws drop as the desks, including Iruka's, followed his movement, skidding towards the walls as the aura faded from around his hands. He took a couple of steps forward, away from the desk that had slid ninety degrees and not really noticing or caring about Naruto's stunned look. He began going through a kata, seeming to ignore everything around him and not even noticing when Iruka and Mizuki returned to the room to stare in surprise at him; he knew the kata was advanced in its fluid yet powerful movements and didn't care that he was giving some evidence of his.... unique capabilities.

Sujin shifted as a foot shot past his head, courtesy of an angry Sasuke Uchiha, his stance surprisingly fluid for the attempted strike. "If you're that eager to get your a** kicked... then we take this outside," Sujin said quietly. Sasuke just snorted in return, shooting a glare at Iruka, who nodded while Mizuki looked like he was distracted.
Within minutes, nearly everyone of the new Genin were gathered around the taijutsu ring while Iruka laid down the ground rules. "Now, you two; do not kill each other and hopefully.... you don't maim each other to the point where neither of you become shinobi at all," he said as he leaped back from Sasuke's sudden and vicious attack at Sujin. Sasuke threw a hard left jab, followed by a right hook. He was momentarily caught off guard when Sujin simply leaned aside from the jab and deflected the hooking punch with the edge of one hand before he grunted, his mouth dropping open as Sujin's return kick caught him in the lower abdomen.

Sujin, out of the corner of his eye, saw the rosette blink in shock, her mouth gaping open before he went to leap backwards, but surprisngly skidded straight back, wisps of steam pulsing up from the warm earth as the thin layer of ice melted. He glanced down in surprise, then looked up in time to catch Sasuke's sandal on the bridge of his nose, sending him tumbling backwards onto his back and shoulders. He heard Naruto curse under his breath before Sujin stood again, a smirk flashing over his lips under the mask. Sujin cocked his head fractionally as he shifted slightly, holding his forearm as if hurt when he lightly tapped the hidden button, cueing up a song he rather liked. It blared out from a couple of hidden speakers in his belt, and from the way Sasuke flinched at the same moment several of the Genin, including Hinata, Kiba, and Naruto jumped, it startled them as well. He heard a melodic laugh from the roof and shifted slightly, simultaneously dodging Sasuke's punch and spotting Tenten from the corner of his eye.

Sujin cocked his head as he felt a cool energy pulsing through his body, yet still felt the odd warmth his chakra had always brought within him. He dropped and shifted, rolling on the balls of his feet as Sasuke's kick flew over his head, followed by his punch as Sujin moved right past him. From Sasuke's grunt, which he suspected was to hide a curse, it pissed off the vaunted Uchiha even more. Sujin's return strike struck Sasuke high in the abdomen. His hands were spread with the fingers curled slightly inward as the heels of his palms did most of the impact damage. He was, however, momentarily surprised at the greenish teal aura of flame that followed the movement, though it faded away almost the moment he made impact and shoved Sasuke head over heels out of the ring hard. Sasuke drew a kunai, but froze when he saw what was pointed at him; it was a long kunai, but the startling part was that it was made of solid ice and rested a half inch from his throat. Sujin's eyes were emotionless and empty. "Consider yourself fortunate it wasn't a fight to the death... otherwise, you would be put down faster than the others," he said in a low voice meant for Sasuke alone. He was startled when the ice crawled over Sujin's form before it simply shattered into shards, revealing it hadn't been him at all, but some sort of clone.
Tenten blinked. "You just had to humiliate him, didn't you?" she said idly, glancing back at Sujin. Sujin shrugged one shoulder slightly. "He needs to let go of his lust for vengeance... it will destroy him if he doesn't learn to let go of the past," he said quietly, completely ignoring the question while answering it at the same time.

Tenten looked amused at Iruka and Mizuki's surprise, while Sasuke and Naruto both looked envious. She jumped ever so slightly when Sujin spoke. "I didn't Kawarimi until after I'd hit Sasuke out of the ring, Iruka-sensei... the Ice Clone was mainly to screw around with Sasuke-baka's head...." he said as he pushed off the roof, landing a few feet behind Naruto. "I'm still learning about what I can do... but it makes for some very interesting pranks," he said as he draped an arm casually over Naruto's shoulders. He ignored the irritated and disgusted faces of most of the other Genin. "Watch Mizuki closely, outou... I doubt he's up to any good," he said in a low voice as Iruka started herding them back inside. He didn't miss the thoughtful look Hinata shot his way, nor the look Yamanaka Ino shot at him though outwardly he showed no sign of even noticing them especially since the mask he wore hid most all of his facial expressions.

Sujin shifted as he followed his adopted brother, his gaze shifting cautiously to Naruto for a second as he inhaled slowly, then exhaled, a slow leak of what seemed to be mist leaking from his lips. I wonder just whom I'm related to... my skin is dark brown with the slightest tinge of icy blue... I know I'm not like the rest of them, yet I'm not a demon either, he thought. He pulled out a coin that was a dull brown with golden edges and let it roll over the backs of his fingers as he glanced at the black haired Nara Shikamaru, whose hairstyle made him think of a pineapple. He shifted his weight subtly, half sitting against the edge of one of the desks, still rolling the coin over the backs of his fingers as if uncaring of his surroundings. He exhaled slowly, his gaze drifting almost carelessly around the room.
