ATTENTION!!

Queen Tariel of the Naiads has sent notice to the proper channels inquiring about the whereabouts of the Captain of the Hunters, Sadron. He was last spotted leading his trainees out to the lake before the hurricane hit.

If anyone has any information regarding Sadron or his trainees, Anatolio and Itsaso, please contact the Queen or Captain Turin immediately.

ATTENTION!!

Following the mysteriously-powerful hurricane that recently passed over the Isle, Chieftain Rais has sent his people on a number of tasks to attend to clean-up of Laisidhiel and her surroundings. Several Faun have been instructed to help with the clean-up, collecting fallen branches and debris, as well as attending to the wounded Great Tree.

On an equally grave matter, it has been discovered that a number of acorns from the limbs of Laisidhiel were not harvested and protected before the storm struck. These acorns were shaken loose by the torrential winds and carried far away from the Great Tree. While the acorns are designed to withstand falls from great heights, there are other dangers that may threaten the new life within if not protected by the Tree. A number of more adventurous Faun have been tasked with setting out to the Isle to search for the lost acorns before any misfortune may befall them.

If anyone has any information regarding the lost acorns, please notify Chieftain Rais, or his Council members immediately.

ATTENTION ALL NAIADS!!

The Water spirits are growing restless.

Disturbing news has been coming in from intelligence regarding various happenings on the island. Queen Tariel has issued warnings regarding spending too much time on the land, particularly around Dragnid Forest and Waplei Marsh. She also warns to be leery of any winged land Pae'il due to recent conflicts.

All Naiad are instructed to stay near their natural body of water, except in cases of emergencies. And as a reminder, the Temple is a sanctuary for all Naiad needing shelter, food or counsel.

There is also a job opening for an official temple researcher. The Queen is looking for somepae to investigate something of a delicate nature. Any interested Naiad should inquire directly to Queen Tariel and she will provide details.

ATTENTION!!

Despite notices being posted in and around Laisidhiel, several Faun were witnessed breaking Chieftain Rais' explicit curfew to attend a particular party on the main isle. These rule breakers will report for extra chores for the length of one season!

Pegasi and other Faun with wings will report to the branches for extra gardening and pruning duties high in Laisidhiel's boughs. All others will report for assignments to be distributed between the kitchens for meal prep, ground clean up, and latrine duty. Those fountains don't clean themselves.

Perhaps respect may be attained in service to one's kin.

((Yes, this is an IC punishment for IC breaking of rules, and also something a little fun to play with for RP sake. Likely, those spotted would be those who actually live in Laisidhiel, but as a reminder any of the Faun below may have been seen attending the party and be subject to this 'punishment'.

Apple Bloom
Avidan
Fortissimo
Hydrangea
Lightning Dust
Lyra Heartstrings
Minuette
Prince Feralheart
Rainbow Dash
Rainbow Sherbet
Spitfire
Star Hunter
Starlight
Sweetie Belle
Sweetie Drops
Terran
Wild Moon
Zecora

Clearly, if they don't live in Laisidhiel, it's less likely they would have been caught or could even have the punishment enforced.))

ATTENTION ALL FAUN!!

In light of the recent attack on the Adviser's daughter, all Faun are being notified to be extra careful of Blood Pae from here on out. Reports have come in about travelers away from the tree being tricked or talked out of their protection talismans, and recently, the Adviser's daughter was nearly killed for hers.

All Faun are advised to beware of Blood Pae and to report ANY suspicious behavior in or around Laisidhiel in coming days! Investigations are on-going for the cause of such hostility, but for now, please proceed with due caution!

ATTENTION ALL FAUN!!

Recent events have brought to light obvious gaps in our defensive structure. If faced with the dangers that our ancestors faced, we would not stand a chance of survival.

I am putting out a call to all Faun with notable fighting skill, especially in hand-to-hand combat, as well as those showing leadership potential. Any Faun interested in pursuing a change of rank or duty with these skills should report to me. Our rangers are skilled, but we require a more diverse defensive structure to truly protect our home and our loved ones from those who wish us harm. I need Faun of skill to take charge of training new troops in varied forms of combat and defense.

Laisidhiel bless you and keep you safe, my Brothers and Sisters.

-- Chieftain Rais

*****

This is an RP opportunity for many Fauns, though we will be looking for some leaders to head things up first. Faun with some sort of in-character experience either hunting, fighting, or strategy is welcome to apply. They will be the leaders of these new troops. Once we have a few interested parties signed up, I will start some official threads where they may conduct signups and trials for new recruits as they wish.

We will be looking for, but not limited to, filling out the Faun military with these example branches:
  • Rangers - Captain Gulliver remains wholly in charge of the Rangers, however, he can recruit his own officers to serve under him with troops of their own. Rangers are the Faun's long range scouts as well as hunters for the Tree.
  • Ground Forces/Heavy Infantry - Specializing in hand-to-hand combat, as well as close range weaponry like warhammers and spears, these troops will be highly defensive in nature, wearing heavy armor and forming a protective barrier on the battlefield.
  • Laisidhiel Guard - Though less mobile in nature, their job is no less important. The Tree Guard protects those inside Laisidhiel from any dangers attempting to get in. Any disturbances within Laisidhiel or trouble within her walls, they'll be the first on the scene to restore peace, however necessary.
  • Air Force - Something their ancestors never had, modern Faun have welcomed in winged brethren willing to fight to protect their home. As pegasi and other winged Faun are likely never to be plentiful in comparison to their ground-bound brethren, these are likely to be skilled, elite units, specializing in scouting, or quick strike missions, minimizing losses.
  • Special Forces - ??? Got ideas? Something you think I forgot? Let me know.

Of course, not everyone needs to be a leader. We need soldiers as well. If not interested in leading a troop, but in being a part of one? Let me know as well!

Interested players should PM Teigra with the name of their Faun and what sort of position they are interested in. Those wishing to lead squads, let me know who and what kind and your plans for doing so. I should stress that while these are plot positions and RP opportunities that will ultimately answer to Chieftain Rais, you will be responsible for running your own squads, training, and keeping them active.

As incentive, active troops that work together well may be rewarded with RP missions in the future and may earn other RP achievements for teamwork and good attitude! These positions are also available for promotions to fill any appropriate gaps in the Faun hierarchy.

This notice is in effect for all Laisidhiel-dwelling Faun, as well as any others visiting the Tree.

Posted on either side of the main entrance/exit to Laisidhiel as well as numerous locations within, the following notice appeared, directed to all residents.

*****

My brethren,

In light of additional information gathered following the attack on our home, a number of changes will be put into effect until further notice.

1. A curfew will be put into effect from sundown to sunrise for all Faun not on official business for the Council. All Faun should be back inside the Tree by the evening meal.
Any Faun breaking curfew will be detained for questioning.

2. It is recommended that even during the daylight hours, for protection, Faun keep as close to the Tree as possible if they must go outside.

3. It has been confirmed that the attack on our home was committed by Blood Pae'il. These monsters celebrate our pain and anguish in their cold City above. The search continues for the Pae'il identified as responsible, as well as investigations continuing for any others who may be linked to the attack. Until this matter can be fully resolved, any Faun witnessed fraternizing with these barbarians and attempting to enter the Tree will be arrested and confined on suspicion of treason against our people, until such time they can be proven innocent of this crime.

4. News has come of additional dangers to the south. Any Faun traveling outside of Laisidhiel, including rangers and hunters on missions from the Council, are required to take extra precautions when in the vicinity of the Quiet Woods. Travel in small groups, pairs at the least, and be aware of potentially lethal creatures and/or Pae'il in the area. In any case, do not travel alone and take care of your protection tokens.

Fear not, my brothers and sisters. All is done in the name of your safety.

-- Chieftain Rais
