Streaking across the school's campus was a very angry fire demonness. After that class ... trash ... thing she never wanted to see another robot ever again. She grumbled and threw her door open, quickly undressed, and threw the clothes into the hamper near the tub.
Now Danny liked dirty, and could appreciate a good pile of mud, but this .... this was gross. Even Danny couldn't stand this much. While she waited for the tub to fill up, she stared at it, cursing the very name of Moira for making her do that. She needed revenge.
As she soaked, her angry cursing at least faded into a soft grumble. It smelled so baaaaaaad. She dunked her head under the lava one more time. Maybe if she pretended it was gone, it would leave.

If my encounter with Alexander went as well as it did, better than I hoped for, surely I can face Miss Danny. Yǐn Cáng was somewhat preoccupied, telling himself that it was all going to work out, though he did not truly believe his own pep talk.
It was with a certain reluctance that he reached up and knocked on the fire demon's door. The first rap was rather timid, and after waiting a moment he forced himself to knock louder. He had to face her sooner or later, and maybe the few days that had past since he had last seen her would have helped her to cool off. If fire demons ever cooled off.

She didn't hear the first knock as she was half-submerged in lava. The second one came right as she was breaking the surface, and it startled her. She forgot people even knocked on her door anymore. Weird stuff.
As she came out of the tub, she pulled the plus and threw a towel on. To be honest, it was more than she wore normally. Her hair was wiry and tucked into an odd sort of bun. She padded for the door without a second thought, and opened it wide.
"Oh hi Yin," she said, a little surprised to see the boil, but it wasn't that unusual. After all, he'd helped her pick out things earlier anyways.
She backed away from the door and gestured him inside.

Yin had spent the time after he knocked trying to think of what he would say when she opened the door.
When she did open the door he said something rather closely akin to a high-pitched croak as his face colored into a deep crimson, rather odd for his normally green pallor. He backed away, ignoring the obvious gesture for him to go inside.
"M-m-m-m-MISS!" he finally managed to get out, though his shock had all but paralyzed his brain.

Danny too freaked out, and looked all around, both her arms still firmly gripped on her towel. "WHAT?!" she shouted, "Is it Christmas?!"
Was she still obviously on edge from a few days okay? Yes, definitely.
Seeing there was no visible attackers or elves or anything, Danny said, "Gosh Yin, you scared me. Really, what's up?" She looked at him, sincerely wondering what was wrong.

Yin cringed back as she shouted, especially when she mentioned Christmas. She has not forgotten. Of course she had not forgotten, but he honestly had not expected her to yell at him publicly about it.
"M-my apologies Miss Danny," he stammered, looking pointedly past her left horn before flicking his eyes toward the ceiling. "There appears to be a light fixture on the ceiling." It was nice looking at the ceiling, he did not have to worry about seeing Miss Danny in a towel on the ceiling. "You are in a towel," he pointed out, rather unable to focus on the situation.

Following Yin's gaze, she too found herself looking at the ceiling. Was Christmas up there? No, it looked pretty normal. Yin's focus seemed to switch as quickly as hers did.
Danny looked down at her attire. Yes, she was still in a towel. Was he ... why did he feel the need to say so? Maybe she was supposed to respond the same way? That must've been it.
"Umm. Yes. And you're in ... well your thingy you're always in." What did you even call it? Danny's vocabulary mostly covered "shorts" and "swimsuit." Anything fancier was a bit lost on her.

Tips of his ears burning merrily he looked down at what he was wearing. Perhaps Miss Danny wanted him to find some new clothing. He had nothing else to wear, but if she insisted perhaps he could work out another deal with a gnome. "Is my clothing unacceptable? he questioned, glancing back at her.
And immediately regretted it. "Perhaps I should give you a moment to change?" he asked in a slightly strangled voice. It was higher pitched the normal, and grated a bit on his own ears, but honestly it was hard to control at the moment.

Danny took a second look at Yin. "No your clothing's good," she said, her face complacent. He was acting mighty odd. She gave him a toothy grin, and once again attempted to usher him into the room.
His second sentence hurt her ears it was so high pitched. Yeah he was definitely acting weird. Change? Change what? Ohhh. "Oh uh. Yeah jussa sec." She ran to her closet and pulled out a t-shirt and (wait for it) another pair of shorts.
She walked into the other room and changed in about five seconds flat. She returned to wear he was and said, "All better?" Hopefully the mantis would be able to handle this?

The weremantis was pleasantly surprised to see Danny in a t-shirt. Of course it rode up and he could see her mid-rift, but that was actually progress for the ghoul. He felt significantly more comfortable, and visibly relaxed.
"I was merely stopping by to check on you Miss Danny. Is everything going okay?" He did not add "since the invasion," but the thought was heavy on his mind.

Danny was about to respond as her usual self, when the sight of the putrid clothes caught her sight. She said, "Aughhhh no," in a whiny tone. "Stupid classes. I wish we didn't have to go back to them."
With a sigh, she sat in her rolling chair, and offered the little lean-to sitting space for Yin. Or the bed. Or wherever the Jack he wanted for that matter.
"But.... I'm not bad." A little bit of a lie. There was still the matter with Rikki to sort out. "You?"

Having not been verbally offered a seat the mantodae stayed standing, arms drawn up in front of his chest, limp-wristed as always. Not bad? That is rather noncommittal.
And for the ghoul in question her actions seemed a bit...lethargic? He was unsure, but something was wrong. "Is there something I can do to help you?" he questioned, concern evident in his voice. "I hope you are not suffering from any long-lasting injuries."

Lethargic was the perfect way to describe Danny's movements. She was slower than usual (which was, for most people, normal-paced), and far less optimistically bouncy.
In response, all she said was, "No not really. Get Rikki to stop being dumb," she said with a strange hollow sort of laugh. She shook her head, her orange spiked hair rustling softly. No that wasn't quite right. She was being dumb too. This relationship thing was a lot more complicated than she thought. She liked it a lot more when it just meant she got to kiss him whenever she felt like it.
"No, no injuries. See, I'm fine!" she said, wiggling her toes and fingers. That apparently meant fine.

Rikki sounded familiar...perhaps like the reaper boil. Yes, he was certain of it. Yin's blood ran cold, what had he done? Before he realized it his lips were pulled back, baring his teeth as he thought about the boil. If he had hurt Miss Danny in any way there would be blood to pay. Miss Danny was nice, no one should treat her how he had, whatever that was. He should have taken care of him when he had had the chance. And now? If Miss Danny was damaged that was on his shoulders as well.
"Where is he?" he demanded. "I shall make him pay twice over for whatever he has done to you." It was reckless, yes, but he had made it one of his duties to protect Miss Danny.

"Rikki? He's probably in his-" She began, but was interrupted by the second half of Yin's response. Oh gosh. Make him pay? That sounded pretty damn good. A punch to the face would probably do the boil some good, but Danny couldn't think that far.
The truth of it was that regardless of how meanly Rikki may or may not have treated her, she couldn't imagine really hurting him. In fact, she was beginning to think that she was the one who messed up. What if they'd gone out to the fight together, and Rikki had gotten hurt? Then it would be her fault.
Skipping subjects, Danny solemnly said, "I'm mostly mad 'cause of that stupid trashbot." A shiver went down her spine when she thought of all that trash.
