The training fields was actually a series of makeshift tents and tables, especially necessary for anyone who was looking to recharge their Runic Weapons, or simply grab new supplies such as bandages and head sets. There was a small line-up for supplies and the team on maintenance seemed heavily occupied. Thankfully, the weather was rather cloudless and sunny that day, the grass a warm green: it was hard to feel excessively grim.

At the far end of the training fields was also a first aid corner, for those who did not want to dare a journey to the Life labs, the so-called "hospital". The small first aid tent did seem a lot friendlier, though a couple of familiar faces could be seen from inside...

THE TRAINING FIELDS ORP

Your Hunter can interact with other Hunters in the Training Fields. Make sure you QUOTE YOU WHO ARE TALKING TO. To leave, simply write a bold (( EXIT)) OOC post at the top of your post, so everyone knows they have left the training fields.
- To have your character enter the training fields simply post a bold OOC (( ENTERING TRAINING FIELDS )) at the top of your post.

Entering - Rebecca Hathaway

She didn't like the smell of the fields, that was for sure. She never really liked the island considering. It just reminded her of what laid out there, waiting for her, waiting to be attacked and killed.

Her hand rubbed over the unsummoned form of her weapon, a small bracelet on her wrist as she looked around. The mist Huntress scowled at the training fields, first aid and Runic weapon charging systems spread over the only place she thought she'd find comfort on this damned island.

Rubbing her temples, she turned on her heel. She was here to find one of the other trainee's. Her eye's scanned the crowd around her.

Vee spoke with almost yawn like voice. She tuned him out as she looked for her former Training partners. Lex and Cody.

((Entering Selena Francesca Melissa Von Petra))

Selena strode with purpose onto the training fields, wandering deftly between ghettofabulous tents and rickety tables, green eyes flicking from location to location. She needed a place to charge her guns, since they were about half juice.

Pulling them from their holsters, their red and teal barrels shining away (Red Fish and Blue Fish, respectively-- not even her names for them; but Mark's) as she laid them on the table, eyes averted from any of the others as she worked to recharge them.

Hopefully, Mark or his friend would be around.

((Entering Dylan Weaver sorta...))

"Aaaaahh..."

Dylan stretched his arms up behind his head and squinted up in the direction of the sun. It was nice being on an island all the time though the cabin fever was not a pleasant experience to overcome.

"Whut ah wudnt do ferrrrr some fi-fi-fisshhhhin." he struggled even as he spoke softly to himself. Of the very few Christmas gifts he'd received the new fly fishing rod was the most sparkly. Unfortunately, there weren't any peaceful-enough, quiet freshwater rivers here. He figured he'd use it if he went on a mission outside the island.

Tomorrow was New Year's Eve and he had no idea what he was going to do yet to celebrate. That is, if the mission brought him back before the midnight hour. Maybe that's what it was!

Yes, yes it had to be. The "big mission" was going to be the biggest bash they'd ever held on the island. Just thinking about it made him red in the face. All the ladies in their pretty long dresses and their hair did up all nice and purdy. Sure he wasn't a looker but he'd be just as pleased to snag a dance with one or two.

Speaking of pretty girls, all that Dylan could muster was a wave as two familiar faces (though they may have never really met) crossed the field.

[Stacie Leigh entering]

Not far from the charging station sat Stacie, working hard hardly working. She was "borrowing" some of the less attractive bandages to stuff between her toes, busying herself with painting them a pleasant color of glimmering gold. It vaguely matched the trim on her coat.

She had to make sure she looked phat for the inevitable New Year's Eve celebrations.

The gum that she was noisily smacking away on was beginning to lose its sugary taste, which was frustrating, but didn't even kind of compare to the annoyance she felt at being called back in the middle of a mission. Forget the kickin' rad clubs - she'd felt like she was really on to something that time!

"Better be good, better be good," she sang to herself, mimicking a poppy tune.

Entering Lexington Duunswik!

He felt strange. A strangeness that he couldn't really do anything about. Nothing like the cold chills and annoying (not to mention disgusting) feelings you got when their prey was around. No this was something worse. It was a social awkwardness. Dear sweet geebus. Did he actually have to...talk with some of the others around? Pretend he cared what they might have to say?

::You could always try insulting them. Bet the results of that would be rather hilarious.::

::So not helpful.::

Lex had taken a very small chance to look around - which had been briskly walking from point A to point B - and just couldn't shake that feeling. Of course, Mordy had laughed the entire time. Was still laughing and whispering amusing things in that warm yet sinister tone. Quite impressive for something that was currently a slightly tanned bone ring around his middle finger. His weapons unsummoned form. Geez, he hated when the b*****d did that. His voice was such a pain and reminded Lex of those stalker characters in the old books he'd read once upon a time.

::A stalker, am I? So clearly I am your personal stalker. What shall I do to you, my precious~ ::

Ignoring Mordy, Lex continued on his way towards the training grounds, where he intended (or hoped) to meet a couple fellow former trainee's. The first tell tale sign he was at the training grounds was the smell. Fresh cut grass. Wow, he actually remembered what it smelled like? When was the last time he'd ever smelled fresh cut grass...and that looked like a familiar individual over there. Lex headed towards Becca. His lips quirked up slightly.

"Well well well. What have we got ourselves here?" Lex said dryly, what seemed like the hint of an accent mingled somewhere in his rich tones. "Afternoon, doll." Now, all they needed was for Cody to appear.

Selena charged her weapons up, one at a time, taking care not to ding the damned things on the stony surface of the Runic recharging system.

Glancing sidelong at a remotely familiar face, she offered a two fingered wave slash salute at the fellow stretching nearby, but offered no further greeting. Her face was schooled with the blank mask she'd perfected over the years.

As they charged, the brunet took a heavy seat next to Stacie, glancing at her side long. "Working hard or hardly working, per the usual?" she asked dryly, eyes rolling before the question was even out of her mouth.

The girl was unbearable, but you just don't forsake teammates.

Entering Cody Brooks!

Back on the island for first time in such a long---okay,so he had been here a week before, but only for a couple of days before he had been relocated somewhere else. Though strangely enough, despite having departed such a short while ago, he had been called back for yet another mission. Which at first, he had been quite pleased to hear, ( being needed was great ) but stepping back onto these grounds and seeing the grim looks of the other hunters around, one could easily tell that something was wrong.

Oh well! He had the whole day to roam about and tomorrow to worry about stuff. That said, a little birdy had told him, two friends were here on the island.

:Quit running around. I thought you were more disciplined than this?: Dimitri, who was currently attached to his ear, was not at all pleased to return to the island, but even less pleased for his partner to be acting like a hyperactive child and embarrass them both.

You know me better than that Dim. Besides! Don't you want to see them? Its been so long.

:I could care less.: The werewolf huffed, trying his best to ignore the looks they were receiving. Thankful, that they were all directed at Cody.

"Ah!"

Targets located!

Like the undisciplined child, Dimitri claimed him to be, Cody charged forward, pushing eagerly past the crowd before he lunged for the first familiar face he saw.

"What's up guys? Its been ages!" He wrapped an arm around Lex's neck, practically hanging off the man as he gave Becca a wry grin.

"Jeez, Becca you've grown." He released Lex, only to motion towards his own chest, making rounded motions before he turned back to Lex. "And Duunce, my friend, I do believe you have gotten uglier." He was teasing them both of course, just like he used to.

Taking the salute as a neutral greeting, Dylan grinned revealing his goofy (yet charming) front teeth and grabbed the set of chains he'd just nabbed from the weapons lineup.

They clanked at his feet as he walked over, picking out some of the tangles and trying to resist saying anything that may interrupt the girl's conversation. Stacie's gum smacking was particularly attractive in the awful way most humans would compare to the grinding of nails on a chalkboard. To Dylan it was a familiar sound where most girls he ever went on hunting trips with tended to do.

"Luuuhadies are yuh werkin on gi-gi-gittin ready fer tuh-tuh-tuhmorrow?" he asked squinting as he struggled.

(( Entering Mark ))

"A to the C!" Mark crossed his arms out and made a crude pair of Cs with his thumb and pinky fingers like the white gangster he totally wasn't. But he spread them wide again to give her the biggest bearhug he could manage. He looked more than a little relieved to be able to do so after so long. "How've you been, girl?"

To the nearby Selena, he offered a friendly wave and a grin.

He pulled back before it got weird and lazily reached down to pull out one of his trusty torches, which had barely a spark to the runes curled around it. With the other hand he slipped a beaten-up cheap cigarette out of a pocket and into his mouth. The torch was completely unresponsive after a few attempts to get it blazing under the cigarette. "Look like James Dean's finally starting to quit on me."

Admittedly he had only named his torches to mock the FEAR division's weird fixation with naming their own weapons, but the silly names had started to grow on him after so many years.

"Anyone got a light?" he shouted at everyone milling around outside.

Becca turned her head to the hand wave that caught her eye before cocking her head, unless the man was of the mist division or her memory had gotten worst, she didn't recognize him.

Though in the midst of attempting to go over to the unknown hunter, she was cut off by the first of her former training partners.

"Lex." She quirked an eyebrow at the nickname before her face flat lined. There was a reason she hadn't seen the male hunter in awhile, though she couldn't remember more then they we're all of the mist division. Covering for other divisions and missions was their duty after all. "Let me remind you that my name is not Doll Lex, though if you continue to call me otherwise, I will remedy your memory with accounts of the last time we we're here on this training ground." She crossed her arms under her breast before a faint hint of a smile. Though they had moved to full hunters now, she had a rare affection for the two men.

A very rare affection for them.

Becca didn't need her weapon to tell her as she heard the shout of the man as he wrapped his arms around Lex's head. Thank god he didn't go for Becca this time, she was, unnaturally aware of just how Cody clung to her, almost to the point of annoyance.

"Cody-" Her face almost returned a friendly smile before he gestured to her boobs which had her face turning red...from anger. "I'd appreciate if you refrained from talking about my rack." She looked away before taking a deep breath.

As satisfactory as that sounded Her weapon in its full form would stand no chance against the other two. considering, that if she remembered right, both had close combat weapons. She instead took another breath at the two before nodding to the other male hunter that had waved at her.

"Do recognize that fellow? I want to know if I have seen him before." Did she ask how they were? No, but they'd probably say how they were anyways. She though, was sincerely glad to see them considering the circumstances. "It has been too long for me to be back on the Island. There's a reason I don't like this place after all."

Actually, she didn't wait a moment longer for the other two boys and dragged them along in a way. "You there!" She came closer to Dylan before stopping in front of him, "Do I kow you? Are you a Mist hunter?" She cocked her hands on her hips, throwing her black braid over her shoulder.

"I got yuh cu-cu-cuverd bruther~"

Pulling out a forest-camoflague lighter with a several-point dear staring dumbly at the user Dylan flicked it once then twice.

All it did was spark sadly.

"....8C" the hunter frowned at his gasless gas station treasure.

As Becca now approached, Dylan tried to look less defeated over his lighter and shook his head. "Naw, ma'am, see I'm a mu-mu-mooon huntar ya'hear. I try tuh remember them faces."

Five feet of authority and towering intellect stormed through the field, face set and determined. She'd seen the target enter the area, but allowed them a certain amount of time to relax and let down their guard. Also something had caught on fire, but her assistant was putting it out, so all of that was fine and she was here now. In what could possibly be called hot pursuit. Approaching her Hunter from behind, Velda's hand shot out and grabbed the back of Stacie's coat, expression stern and unforgiving,

"Did you bring me anything?"

This may have have been both more startling and impressive had the Life leader not been wearing large dinosaur slippers that squeaked as she walked.

(( Wolf Entering Training Area ))

The Hunter rolled his shoulder, then his neck. He stretched his fingers and glanced around the area, eyes watching. He pulled his hood down, letting his rather scruffy mane like hair out for all to see. The island was not his most favorite place, but sometimes it beat fighting Fear, and being with the rest of humanity, who had no idea what was going on.

You should go spar with some of them. I'm hungry for action, growled Skoll from his arm. He glared down at his weapon, a claw-gauntlet. He'd just filled the thing two days ago, and it seemed Skoll wanted more action. Never enough for the weapon it seemed. He shook his head, and took a look around again, eyes flicking over the others.

"I just hope this is over soon so we can get back to work, eh Skoll?" he asked the weapon, who gave a growl of agreement in his mind.

"That is generally what charged weapons are used for, especially runic ones," Selena replied loftily, dextrous fingers pulling Red Fish from its place, and setting Blue Fish in there instead.

The dark haired girl gave a curt nod to Mark-- and gave a tight smirk.

"Of course I've got a light. Doesn't mean you can have one now, does it, Markymark?"
