Roch had thought about it. Twice the subject had come up, and he'd promised easily, but--well, y'know, he couldn't be everywhere. Especially not if they separated them into groups like they had at the haunted house. He couldn't be the only one... the only death dealer.

That's what found him in front of Shun's room, a hesitant look on his face as he reached up, knocking once. Because... well, of all his pals and classmates, this was one of the few he KNEW would take the job.

He hoped.

Yeah, they had a lot in common, but at the same time they didn't, Roch thought as he shoved his hands into his pockets. "I wanted to ask you about something," he said quietly. "Somethin' that'll definitely be seen as dirty, possibly cruel, and absolutely cold blooded," he summed up. "Which is probably why we shouldn't be doin' it in the hallway."

"I went caroling," he said cheerfully, a strange way to bring up the subject. "I went to Edel first, the frost demon? She's a pal of mine, plays the violin. And she was one of the first captured and thrown into cages at the haunted house," he finished, his tone turning serious. "I didn't get into the tent that time, I died outside, but it scarred them."

He moved inside, heading for the nearest chair. "I asked her a favor. I wanted her to become friends with one of my friends. She said yes, then asked me a favor in return." He looked Shun straight in the eye as he sat down. "She asked me to kill her... y'know, before something like that happened again."

"Nope, not exactly," Roch said. "I figure I can kill myself easily enough. But I ran into... someone else a little while later. They asked me the same thing. And I'm sitting here and I'm thinking, what happens when we're separated? Because we will be. I can't be everywhere at once, y'know?"

He leaned back, looking at the other grim. "So I came to the conclusion there needs to be more than just me as a death dealer."

"Yeah, that's how I thought you'd react," Roch said with a shrug. "I might ask a few others, you can ask others too... but keep this a secret from Xiu and the others like her," he added. "I don't think they'd understand it the way we do. But..."

He frowned. "I thought grim reapers would be the best choices for this job, but... y'know, I can't really see Mot going for it." To put it simply.

Roch blinked. "Jack, you've got a point," he said quietly. "I might ask them after I ask a few others. But..." He snorted. "There's got to be several, at least a good handful of us. All the groups they separate us into for crappy field trips and stuff like that."

He sighed, wondering if he was an idiot for taking the job in the first place. "There's a chance they'll get free and we'll be the ones caught, y'know?"

"And then there's people that will call us cold blooded bastards for even thinking such a thing, so it's a jackin' pain in the a**. Keep it quiet but find others. We ask the wrong person it'll get out, we'll be exposed to all these softhearted idiots that think offing one of your fellow students is the worst thing you could ever do."

He shrugged. "Doing this might lose us a lot of friends, too," he said. "But I've made my decision. Just promising to do it made them relieved, actually doing it... Well..." He shrugged. "I'm--WE'RE two of the people that will."

He seemed to have put a lot of thought into it, and it still bothered him--not doing it, no, he was fine with that. But how people might think of him if they knew.

Roch grunted, getting to his feet. "Yeah, I know," he said quietly. "And even if they catch me, man, I won't tell them about you. I'm the one starting it, after all." He hesitated, turning away from the other grim and looking around. "But can you keep it a secret from your ghoulfriend?" he asked, looking back at Shun. "She's one of them, you know."
