Xavier is a runaway, his dad an abusive drunk and his mom an unloving parent. Xavier didn't let his parents hold him back, surviving by getting a job and home. After 2 years on his own he has lived his life to its fullest doing everything he has ever wanted to do. Xavier has heard many stories of "The Awakening", he doesn't necessarily want to be apart of it, but he thinks it would be a life changing event. Xavier believes if you live from the event you will see life in different lighting, and you would appreciate the little things. Xavier however does not have much to lose so he forgets to others it might be harder to return to your previous life. Watching his best friend die, his personality did slip a little but instead of letting it effect him forever he hopped back onto his feet and decided to live life for the both of them. Marik had a great life for many years, he had a wife and two kids. Marik thought he would die happy, but soon he would find out otherwise. At 25 Marik was chosen to be apart of "The Awakening", he won and among 19 others he returned home, hoping to have his life back in order. With a little fighting here and there he stayed content at home, a year later he was picked again to participate. Winning two years in a row he returned home again, this time to find his wife with another man. Her excuse was she thought he was going to die, now alone he lived in a small apartment with nothing left. He was picked another 4 times to participate, still alive and for four years he has not been picked again yet.
