Shaking himself all over he rolled his head back and forth, spine arching to stretch out his body. It had been some time since he had been within the ring, though he had been training regularly, the winter season had been more of a distraction than either he or his owner had expected. But here they were, back at work, and Colton was determined to prove the few weeks off hadn't set him back.

Lifting his head, confident with his master's hand still on his collar, he regarded his first opponent. The brown male himself was in good condition compared to how he had been some months ago. His fur was sleek though marred by several scars, and his lean body was solid and muscular. he was still young yet though, evident by the way his ears pricked forwards and his tail moved slowly back and forth. Yet he was focused, patiently waiting for the bout to begin and not wasting energy snarling or barking before there was need.

Blue gaze tracked the dark coloured stranger as the other mokai entered the ring. Both big males, Colton could guess that the bout would be a good match, certainly more so than the poor panda-coloured female he had met in passing at the training grounds. Glancing up at Dominic, his human, Colton's tail wagged a little stronger.

The lad, Dominic or Dom to other humans, grinned down at his best friend and companion, reaching to pull one pricked ear. "Ready boy?" A moment later the klaxon sounded, signalling the start of the fight. Dom let go of Colton's collar and scrambled out of the ring and the brown mokai shot forwards as if launched from a cannon. There was no barking, no posturing, he had learned that such things only gave his opponent time to prepare and lessened his own chances. So it was a silent and swift attack as he dashed across the ring and launched himself at the other male. Aiming to bowl him over and expose the black mokai's vulnerable underside.

A little surprised wen his rush actually worked, he never the less stuck down at the other male's belly with his gangs only to have to jerk back out of the way as powerful hind legs lashed out at him. Jumping back he lowered his head, body tense as he waited for a counter or an opening for a second attack. The other mokai was up on his paws and that impressive wrack of horns aimed his way fast enough that Colton had to back up, leaping aside when the other tried to headbutt him.

Dancing round he flanked the black male and darted in again, slashing with his claws at the other's side.
