Daeonica was put on active duty to watch the lesser districts of Soul Society. There had been rumors of riots in the area and a small team shinigami were sent in to investigate. Danny was a member of this small five person team and had found enough evidence to bring to the team.
In her findings she had heard rumor of a new anti-shinigami riot leader starting to gather capable warriors to fight back against the "oppressive shinigami" and their ilk. His hideout was in a local tavern here in this lower district and after gathering the four other shinigami, Larzo, Tanis, Numia, and Din. Out of the five, only Daeonica and Numia were the only females, the rest of the team were males. However each except for maybe Kyrie were all willing to prove there ability to their superiors. The meeting place was on the rooftop of an inn a few blocks away from the targets house. It was there they would form a plan of attack.
Every person was there except for Danny and Tanis.

Daeonica, or Danny, as she was often called, crouched next to a chimney that thrust from the roof of one of the single-storied houses that were so common to this particular district of the Rukongai. Those who lived here were poor, simple folk, for the most part. They eked out a hand-to-mouth existence, scraping together what food they could find to feed themselves and their families. It came as no surprise, then, that there was discontent brewing in the lesser districts. The Seireitei and its tall white towers served only as a distant reminder that there were others within Soul Society who were far wealthier and wholly unconcerned with the plight of the poor.
Shinigami weren't particularly welcome here. As agents of the Seireitei, they were treated with a cold sort of hate that never showed but for the way in which they were pointedly ignored. But Danny had her sources. She used to live one district over. Before she'd been dragged off to the academy, she'd worked in a free clinic, so it came as no surprise that she was friendly with many of the families. A mother whose child she had helped birth had told her of the anti-shinigami movement, though it had been more out of concern for Danny's safety than any loyalty towards the shinigami. Still, it was Danny's charge to report these sorts of disturbances, though part of her felt as though she was betraying her own people.
Three of her team had assembled on the rooftop of the in upon which they'd all planned to meet. She made the short leap from her rooftop to that of the inn's and approached the others. They looked up, nodding to acknowledge her-- they all seemed a rather serious group, which made Danny, already rather shy with strangers, feel even more alienated. But they all seemed eager to complete the mission, and that suited her just fine. She could relate to that. The last of their group, Tanis, hadn't made an appearance, yet, but Danny, too, was anxious to get their mission underway.
"Heard from Tanis?" She asked quietly, settling down next to the others. They moved to make room for her in their little circle. Numia even smiled, which made Danny feel a bit more welcome.
"Nah," Din said. He stood, looking off towards their target. "He's got a few minutes, though,"

The small group remained waiting for Tanis for only a brief moment before he appeared using his limited strength in his flash step. Some unseated shinigami had a small grasp on their these basic abilities and Tanis had proven his ability to learn them quickly. Most others looked to him for leadership when no others would however he never openly asked for the position and sometimes could be caught avoiding it. This day however was different, something could be noticed within his gaze as he appeared in a low crouch and moved closer to the edge to get a glance at the target building. A small sigh escaped his lips as he turned to look at Danny, out of all the people he was arguably the most aggressive besides maybe Daeonica. Most of the time he held little expression but now for some reason he had something on his mind and it noticeably made him angry.
With a stern tone he asked Danny, "What do you know?" looking back he continued, "I noticed you once near the taverns." Adjusting slightly his hand dropped to the hilt of his blade as he continued to eye the building. The rest simply watched with curiosity, Tanis quickly turned to them and addressed them quickly before Danny could respond, "Split up and find the captain of Fourth Squad, I found information that involves him directly." they paused looking at him looking for more of an explanation but he gave none as he barked, "Now!" Looking back to Danny the rest of the group vanished to search for the captain. Giving her a simple nod his dry glare never faded, "I'm sorry, what did you find?"

Danny rose warily while the rest of the squad dashed off to do Tanis's bidding. She clenched her jaw in an effort to maintain a calm front in the face of his brusque commands. He might have been able to make the others jump, but Danny had been strong-armed into too much in her life to follow his lead unless he had first proven worth following.
Tanis was a dependable fighter, aggressive as Danny could never truly be, and not easily ruffled. That he looked anxious was a sure sign that something out of the ordinary had happened. If he was sending for a captain, she guessed that it was something quite serious.
"I was visiting one of my birdies," she said, speaking more boldly than she felt. "There's unrest brewing amongst the lower districts, just like we thought. They've got a leader now. He's quietly gathering his followers. Real warriors, not just the peasantry. He set up shop in a house not far from here,"
Danny studied Tanis's face for a moment. Curiosity won over shyness. "Why? What's happened?"

Tanis shook his head and growled something to himself before releasing a heavy sigh. Sitting down he looked back to Danny while he crossed his legs and placing his sword in his lap, "Huh... I'm sure their real warriors wouldn't be anything compared to even the weakest Shinigami initiate." Then as if hit by a wall of force both Danny and Tassis were crushed by a powerful spiritual pressure but only for a brief moment. Quickly the man shot to his feet and drew his blade, glaring out over the district he desperately searched for where that force came from. Looking back he opened his mouth and began to say something but froze.
Slowly the world around Danny became colorless and it seemed everything froze in place except for a dark shadow which walked around Tanis and did what looked like a bow before the woman. After a brief moment a handful of voices pierced into the girls head and began speaking in unison, "You are being watched, being judged. If you fail us you will be responsible for the downfall of the entire human world." After a moment the shadow took another step closer, "We have been collecting power for you, collecting souls befitting a soul such as yours."
Another moment passed and the shadow turned towards Tanis, "The last piece of power you need is right here before us, and without another second to react the man known as Tanis was merely touched by the shadow then just as quickly as it reached out to him he vanished in a brilliant show of lights. This dazzling display of unknown power danced about Danny for a moment until finally she was struck by the lights and without warning her world went black.
Inside of the blackness she could hear a single male voice, it was without emotion gave a tone of overpowering dominance, "This one is weak, does it have the power to overcome?"
((OOC: Danny is free to react only with voice after she is forced into the depths of her mind. In a way you are a puppet up until the point everything goes black. However you may add emotions, and subtle reactions before then.))

Danny meant to shout to Tanis, a call, a warning, something, but the words froze in her throat as the world went gray and colorless as a silent film. A shadowy figure stalked out from behind Tanis's still form and bowed, though Danny didn't know what she had done to earn its respect.
The being spoke to her then, in a voice like a thousand needles in her mind. She shrank from the pain, clenching her teeth as she tried to listen to its message. Before she could think to make heads or tails of the being's words, it reached out to touch Tanis. Her companion vanished in a bright haze, and Danny shouted wordlessly. She wanted to draw her blade, to attack this thing that appeared to have killed Tanis, but her entire body was frozen. She struggled against the power that weighed her down, but she was held fast. There was no escaping the lights as they struck her head on.
And then everything was dark, and Danny was sure she was blind. Fear took root in her chest, and she wriggled and bucked, desperate to escape the black embrace, screaming in her frustration, but the strange being that had taken hold of her seemed to oblivious to her struggle. Perhaps it just didn't care.
The voice that rumbled through her mind was, indeed, devoid of emotion, though it held a weight that seemed to press in on Danny from all sides. She felt small and powerless, but she fought all the harder to escape, growling with the effort.
