
Two pairs of eyes had watched the initial step of the dark buck into the quicksand and though a voice in the back of her mind had told her that it would be best if she helped him out right away ... Well, there was a greater urge to see how he would react to getting trapped. It wasn't the nicest of thoughts and she knew that there were certain standards that required she feel bad for wanting to watch him slowly disappear into his death but that didn't change that she'd stayed hidden among the brush and wrapped sinuously around a tree root.
The pale doe was surprised in all honesty with how well he was handling his lot in life. With a calm, unmoving, demeanor and a curious look in the eyes. He deserved her respect, a nod of the head, for how quietly he was choosing to go. He was going not with a bang or even a whimper- But with a cool determination.
Let Me Fall liked that. She liked that a lot.
So she slunk around and off of her raised perch, much like a snake removing itself from a tree branch, and expertly traversed her way to him in the quietest manner she could. Until she was directly upon him did she want him to know she was there. Peeking her face out of the bush full of leaves he was admiring, she watched him sink a little bit more before turning about and offering him her tail. As far as she was concerned there was no need for words.
