Edel, of course, would know where the spider demon's room was seeing how they were in the same dorm, but her pacing back and forth down the corridor might say otherwise. The thought of seeing her was still rather uncomfortable; they haven't spoken since then. The frost demon was still carrying a bit of guilt in her for what she did then but then again, getting flipped out on by everyone else wasn't a very pleasant experience either. The double negatives don't make a positive.

Nevertheless, it was safe to say that Edel was feeling pretty damn stressed out. Though eventually, she managed to coerce herself into just doing it and so there the ghoul was, standing outside Lizzy's door with a decently-sized bag of candy in her hands. Candy was always a good buffer... should anything go wrong. That was what she hoped for, at least.

As much as the ghoul knew how important this conversation with Lizzy might be, it didn't stop her from instinctively leaning back as she knocked upon the door and wishing pleasenotbein. That would delay the terrible awkwardness of course, but not the inevitable. So the frost demon, resigned, just waited outside the door for a reply.

"Coming!"

Lizzy hopped off her bed where she had been using her laptop, quickly closing the program she had been using before slamming the cover shut and setting the whole machine on her desk. She was still dressed in her nightgown, her hair messily braided; she wasn't one to change out of anything comfortable in the morning, much less take a shower unless she had to.

Opening the door, it took her a moment to recognize the ghoul at her door - mostly because it had been forever since she had last seen her. Unlike what Edel might think, Lizzy wasn't exactly upset at her actions back in the Haunter House; sure, she might had been a little upset back then, but it was all in the past...

Right now? She was just glad that Edel was alive, given the recent happenings.

"Hey," She smiled sheepishly, suddenly feeling guilty that she hadn't checked up on the ghoul despite them being teammates during the previous field trip, "Uh... What brings you here today?" She was trying her best not to let the awkwardness show.

Hi.” Edel took a moment to stare at the spider demon with a blank expression. “Oh, uh, Merry Christmastival!” she broke onto a small smile and gestured at the small gift she brought, “and a happy new October!” For gifts that came a little... late, one would start to question if the gifts were for the festivities at all. Lizzy might already have seen through this ruse.

The frost demon dropped the act, mostly, and a more sincere question was asked.

How have you been?

A loaded question, from the tone. Not just one that was obligatorily asked in exchange for a “Oh I'm fine!” Lots of things have happened in the last two months since that field trip.

"Oh! Merry Christmastival to you too!" She gave the ghoul an easy smile, glancing briefly at the gift in her hands and feeling sheepish that she didn't have anything for her in return, "I hope that the new year will be better for you!" Better for all of them.

"Ah, I've been... Busy, I suppose," She forced a soft chuckle before taking a step back, inviting Edel into her room with a wave of her hand, "Lots of things had happened - I've guess you realized that as well - and I guess it's hard not to get involved... But do come in! There's a couch in the small room at the back. Would you like anything to drink?" Might as well make themselves comfortable in the meantime.

Edel didn't say anything in response to Lizzy being busy, well, everybody had been somewhat occupied in the last month or two. She thanked the ghoul and entered the room carefully, in a way that was almost too polite. “Thanks, uh, some tea would be lovely please,” she called out nervously from the small room with a couch before she sat down awkwardly.

Have you read the newspapers lately?” It was a conversation starter. Edel was racking her brain for some way to lead it up to what she wanted to say. She was really bad at this wasn't she?

Tea! She asked for tea!

Lizzy couldn't help feeling a tad relieved at how Xiu and Lattice had influenced her to buy tea to keep in her kitchen corner; while she still wasn't well-versed in teas by any means, at least she had a couple of different flavored teas to entertain guests with! While Edel proceeded to sit down, Lizzy moved to the other side of the room, putting on a small pot of water before taking two tea cups and putting a booberry flavored teabag into the cup.

"Newspaper?" She echoed, taking the small pot of now heated water and pouring the contents into the teacups that she had prepared. There was a short pause as she carefully the teacups over to where Edel was, settling them down on the coffee table in front of the couch with a smile, "Which newspaper?" She had to be sure.

The Paranormal Post? Well, perhaps not so much a newspaper but rather, a school publication,” the frost demon reached over to the tea and picked her teacup up, “I'm sure you would have noticed the grossly inaccurate article in there?” The ghoul took a sip of the booberry flavoured tea and set the tea cup back on the table. “But I suppose that wasn't the only grossly inaccurate article too,” she added as an afterthought.

A puzzled look crossed the frost demon's face as she thought about how badly written the article was it almost seemed intentional. And the non sequitur advertisement below it. Was she missing something there?

Lizzy, uh, I've been thinking about something for quite some time. Given the boogeymen's current stance on the hunters ... What would you think of starting up a network of communication with the other students? I thought it would be fine that day when I told Saebel whatever information I had, but seeing how that had gone to waste,” there was a touch of vehemence on that last word, “We should let people know what we know and there are new students too so-” Edel had at the point, unwittingly threw her hands up in the air with exasperation. Yes, she was frustrated. She hated how defenseless they were against the hunters, how they constantly breached their school security, how they seemed to hold the strong upper hand and how Halloween was doing nothing about it.

Another thing. In our school there are some students from ... pretty influential families. Uhm,” she paused awkwardly, trying to think of a more eloquent way to put it, “Let's just say that most of them are demons. But the point is ... if one of er ... my type disappears ... society might begin to notice.” This was a lot harder than she had originally envisioned. Edel picked up her cup and took another sip of the tea. “Sorry, perhaps I'm being too ambitious. But I thought I'd ask you about it...

"Ah yes! I picked a copy up recently, actually," She nodded, although truth be told, she already knew the contents of the paper. Picking a copy up was really, just for show... Just in case. Can never be too careful about these things. She went silent, listening to Edel's proposal, somehow managing to maintain a neutral, thoughtful expression.

"A network of communication?" She echoed, pausing; she had to be careful here... Taking a sip of her tea, she tilted her head, looking slightly baffled, "Why me though? I mean, it's a good idea, but... Why me?" They were part of the same team during the previous field trip, but they hadn't been in contact for a while - she felt a pang of guilt at the thought - so this was quite sudden.

"That is a very dangerous line of thought to continue," She looked somewhat sheepish, but concerned, "Remember Christmastival? There were reports of students from other schools vanishing... Lost. They were probably taken away by hunters in fake Halloween bodies. Even if someone from an influential family was to disappear, the Bogeyman could always label it as a kidnapping by a fellow Halloweener."

A pause.

"Besides, as the public is now, making hunters a fact rather than a conspiracy might just throw them into chaos..." Which would actually work against them, and for the hunters.

Edel listened in deeply to what Lizzy had to say, taking sips from her teacup every now and then. She was glad she was having this conversation as she was finally gaining opinions of a different point of view which needless to say, gave her quite a bit to think about.

Why you?” Edel couldn't help but grin as she placed the now empty teacup back on the table. “Well, simply by observing, one would notice that you do have a rather large group of friends. Other than that, would it be safe to assume that someone who was running for treasurer would know or be recognised by a sizable number of students?” The frost demon gave the ghoul a serious stare for about five seconds before she broke into a sheepish grin again.“Well, the truth is, the you're only person I know personally who would be capable of ... this. Well there's Riley and Barth too but I don't know them well.” Yea. She really didn't know a lot of people here.

You're right on both counts though, about the boogeymen's ability to write it off as something else and about them wanting to avoid society being thrown into chaos. They have the ability to shut us down and shut us up and to do that they simply need to shut down this establishment,” Edel's glance shifted from Lizzy to the empty teacup, “Which I think is why we need a network that will keep the school united despite that.

And do so covertly,” she added as an afterthought. Roch had said it before. The worst they could do was to divide them and hence silence them. The ghoul also remembered her father's response to the entire idea of hunters, they just don't talk about them.

The frost demon let out a long sigh. “Our hands are tied,” she finally conceded, “And I don't know why. To avoid a war maybe? Or to maintain some sort of balance...” That's right, Halloween took from them, and they took from Halloween. Maybe that's why the Horsemen were branded extremists, because they threatened to upset that balance? The ghoul mulled over that line of thought silently.

Other than getting stronger ourselves, what else do you suppose we could do?” The last gathering at the other washroom with the horsemen had basically left them with that sole option. They had no technology to deal with the hunters, or even information about them to begin with.

... Man life was hard.

Edel eventually took to resting a cheek on her propped up hand and staring at Lizzy.

Lizzy listened quietly, looking thoughtful as the frost demoness went on to talk about an array of things, smiling bashfully when Edel mentioned that she knew quite a number of people; that made sense though... Riley and Barth might be better candidates to approach, but she couldn't help but feel like the both of them could be a little intimidating at times... Seeing how they both ran for SC president.

"Sometimes," She smiled a little, taking Edel's free hand in her own despite how cold the ghoul felt, and took to patting the back as she gave a firm nod, "What you're looking for is right under your nose." Releasing her hand, Lizzy moved over to her desk and grabbed the article written by the Paranormal Post.

"Things aren't always what they seem like at first glance," She held the piece of paper out to Edel, giving her an encouraging smile, "I can't help you, I'm afraid... But maybe someone else can."

The frost demon watched curiously as Lizzy crossed the room to retrieve.... a newspaper article. Several things were clicking in her head as she realised that it was indeed, the article written by the paranormal post, and that Lizzy was on to something ...

I see...” she mumbled thoughtfully whilst staring at the paper, “Thank you Lizzy.” Deciding that it was about time to leave, the ghoul stood up and thanked the spider demon for her warm welcome and the tea.

Oh, before I forget,” the frost demon swiftly conjured up a little reindeer ornament and handed it to Lizzy. “...Might want to keep that in the refrigerator,” she whispered a little regretfully, realising the trouble of keeping it frozen, “Happy New October again.
