The play's the thing and for the Crystal Academy Drama Club (which is open to members of ALL other schools) their production of King Arthur is going into full production in just over a month. This means casting, rehearsal, and prep time for the rest of us! Of course, that also means I need you, yes you, to make this ORP happen! Right now I need adult and student participation for all the slots a theatre production has to fill. (see post below for positions and the form to submit for participation).
Also included with this ORP is the student's reward of getting to go to the ball after the premiere show in costume to have some fun and support arts education in Destiny City!
On top of RPing with your fellow drama geek Moonies I'll also be throwing in dice rolls and random events to mimic the thrills and sometimes the pitfalls of stage life. Well, as we all know the show must go on so sign up for a slot or poke me here or on AIM with questions. I'm really looking forward to seeing the thespian side of my Moon Shop friends!

Player: Indubitably Character: Kess Reever Link to Character's Journal: Journal-tastic Part the Character is Auditioning for: Lancelot du Lac A short 100-250 word solo about their audition: The lanky blonde glanced at her reflection one last time, and brushed stray strands of pale hair from her black eyes. She'd decided to come at in partial costume, along with binding her chest to make it more believable. She wasn't new to a male role, as there were often more male parts than males, in school theatre.
This role? The skilled, troubled Lancelot. He who was divided between his irresistible passion for Guinevere and his loyalty to Arthur. Kess knew all about the bros vs hoes dilemma, no matter the time-period. It helped that Kess was handsome as hell, when she decided to cross-play.
Flashing a grin at herself, the smile lingered on her freckled face as she walked out onto the stage, eyes on the folks seated before her. "Howdy," she greeted them, hooking her thumbs into her sword-belt before continuing with her introduction. "I'm Kess, a student up at DCU, and a patron of the arts," She winked, "I'd like to audition for the role of Lancelot, if y'all don't mind."
The grin disappeared from her face, her dark eyes becoming tormented as her voice dropped an octave, desolate:
"Guinevere. From she, my body's center can never leave too long. I love, and lover must be, despite myself. I know this God. He forgives me as I rage, for he knows who put these tempests inside my boiling breast. Why did he make us with these parts inside, if only to mock us for their plainest use? These hearts, these bodies, are all built broken..."

Player: Sweenys_Revenge Character: Micah Driscol Link to Character's Journal: [x]Part the Character is Auditioning for: Merlin A short 100-250 word solo about their audition: The BBC series which had been airing as of late had fast become the center of Micah's life. Anthony Head was already one of her favorite actors, and between he and Bradley James, Micah was questioning her decision to see exclusively women. Beyond that, however, Micah loved the Authurian Legends. “Did you know,” she whispered to the girl next to her, “that the Authurian Legends have been passed down through speech for so long, that no one really knows what the real legend is.” The girl looked at Micah strangely, but the red head only giggled and clapped as her name was called. She happily stepped forward from the line up of auditioners. “I see that you have auditioned for the part of… Merlin,” “I did.” “Well…” Micah only watched the woman at the lip of the stage, who gazed back expectantly. “Oh! Oh, alright. Uhm… Okay.” Micah lowered her head and cleared her throat. Alright, focus. It’s now or never. She slowly lifted her head and began. “I have seen many changes to the land in my hundred years on Logres. I have seen Kings come, and Kings go. I remember Vortigern. He was a proud King, but he sold his kingship to the Saxons. I remember Uther Pendragon, he too was proud, and he was a just King and kindly, though he was foolish. Out of his folly, came his son, Arthur, the once and future King.” Ignore the pain of your current situation. Ignore everything but this.

Player: Fayth-x Character: Bell McMahon Link to Character's Journal: XPart the Character is Auditioning for: Lady of the Lake A short 100-250 word solo about their audition: Bell's history in theatre was a long one, and so much a part of her that teaching it one day was what she had finally settled on as her future career. Now her former school was holding auditions for King Arthur, and it would seem more than just other high school students would be allowed to participate. This excited her, and she immediately looked in to auditioning. And now, here she was. She would have been happy with just about any roll - she certainly wasn't the prema donna she used to be. But on her form she had selected specifically the Lady of the Lake. There was always a nervousness when it came to auditioning that even the most seasoned actor or actress felt. Any that said otherwise was lying. Bell, however, tried to at least appear confident. Her experience with the play was years past, and she'd not had this particular role back then. Bell Mcmahon took to the stage and gave her judges a smile before introducing herself, "Hello, I am Bell McMahon, former Crystal Academy student and long time thespian with years of theatre experience. I'll be auditioning for the role of the Lady of the Lake, but I am willing to take whatever role you think me fit for - I'm not going to be too picky," she gave a small chuckle. "Now, I'd like to begin. I'll be preforming the Lady of the Lake's monologue from the prologu in Carr's version of King Arthur. This is where she arises with Arthur's sword." With that, Bell took one step back, and shifted in to character. One hand was extended toward the ceiling, as if she were holding a sword above her. "Arthur, England's chosen lord, Fear not Fate but take thy sword; Thou the first whose mortal hand E'er hath touched that mystic brand. Sword and scabbard both are thine, Sword and scabbard both divine: Guard them well and use them well, So that aftertime shall tell Of thy kingdom in the sea, Blazoned on whose shield shall be, 'Right and Might and Liberty.' Yet beware! Time's beating wing, Restless and untiring, Speeds along Time's endless way. Bravely thou shalt rule thy day, And at last, when Day is done, Those three Queens of Avalon, Rulers of the night, who keep In their charge the keys of sleep, Far across this mystic mere Silently thy barge shall steer, Till thy wearied eyes have won Endless sleep in Avalon."It was a lot of ryming, but done with the right pauses, slowly and deliberately so as not to stumble, it did make the monologue easier to remember. Dropping character, Bell bowed, answered any further questions they might have had, and left so the next person in line to audition could take the stage. Now all that was left to do was wait and keep her fingers crossed. She'd go back home once Ainsley had her chance to auditions, and then they'd let Xavier know how things went. Sticking around and watching the rest of the auditions would only make her nervous.

Player: chimarii Character: Talia Chu Link to Character's Journal: clickPart the Character is Auditioning for: Queen Guinevere (if you need her to play anything else, feel free to move her around!) A short 100-250 word solo about their audition: Talia waited dutifully in the audience for her turn to walk up on stage and show her stuff. Why she was even doing this was beyond her. Well no, she knew her rehearsed reason. If she was going to get into Harvard, she needed to be well rounded. She had sports down pat, but her artsy side was severely lacking. She'd never really been artistic- all of her macaroni pictures had been orderly and succinct. Paintings had been trashed because they didn't fit exactly how she wanted to look.
Either way, she was here to audition, and being ******** meant she was going for the main role. Obviously. Who better to play a queen, right? At least, that was how she viewed it. Go big or go home.
Finally her name was called and she stepped onto the stage. They asked her the basics, her name, grade, etc. She'd responded with "Hi, my name is Talia Chu, I go to Crystal Academy, and I'm a senior." She'd never seen the director before, but that was no concern of hers.
At the appointed time, she read from the script like everyone else. Talia severely lacked that practiced finesse that most actresses had, but at least she didn't stumble over the words. When all was said and done, she politely thanked the director, and left the stage.((botched a bit 'cause I couldn't find any ... "official" Guinevere lines on google xD))
