She was restless. Terra growled impatiently under her breath. It had been only a few months into her decision to track down her fellow carnival members. So far she was batting zero on finding anyone to question. Since her encounter with that strange Kalona and her subsequent refusal to jump at his offer - Terra had become more and more agitated. The snows had finally come to these lands. Prey was scarce. Scarce prey meant fewer chances at food. She was managing to get by but mice and other rodents hardly touched the hunger burning deep within.
If only her journey could prove more fruitful. She just needed one good lead that she could follow. Most leads had panned out and the batwalker was sure that those that sent her on her way were screwing around with her; sending her on false trails; keeping her away from their families. Terra paused. There was that sound again. She'd been hearing the same noise for a little while now. It almost sounded like bells were ringing. Her ears twitched and she gave a quiet snarl. She didn't need a distraction now ... of all times. Maybe she should investigate and silence the source of this annoying noise.

Pity, the white mare thought as she looked upon the hapless figure of a once former breathing creature was nothing more than a half frozen corpse. It had been rather disappointing this winter despite the constant ring of the bell around her neck and the blood dripping from her ears Tink had little to no luck in finding anything that wasn’t already dead. Everything seemed to be trapped by Jack Frost cold finger tips and before she could watch their last breathes flutter in their chest they were taken, passing from the world into the realm beyond. It was as bluntly put by the mare rather an annoying and tedious task to wander only to be met with disappointment.
Shaking her small wings in annoyance she peered at the spots of blood that trailed behind her leading away from the corpse. These were not the same drops that fell from her ears but from around the familiar red crescent that branded her hind leg. Tink could not remember how long that it had been since she and the other members of the blood like carnival had separated however the familiarities of ever meeting another member was slim. She had little care to the other oddities that had participated in the entire carnival however she would if she met them on their last strand of life would great them with a pleasant smile.

There. Blood was on the air and on the ground. Terra would have recognized it even if her stomach hadn't lurched in response. The heady, metallic scent overrode everything. Whatever was up ahead seemed to be deliberately teasing her now. It was not a good idea to tempt a walker of any sort. Terra inhaled deeply. Her quarry had not gone too far ahead it seemed. At least that annoying bell sound had stopped chiming. She shifted impatiently before scanning the horizon. Something dark blotted the whiteness of the snow and Terra's interest was snagged. A rather large shape lay off into the deeper snow and Terra narrowed her gaze as she approached. The creature was already dead; frozen stiff by the cold. It was no use to her now.
However a fresh trail of blood led away from the creature. This was probably the cause behind the reaction of saliva flooding her mouth. Terra adopted a slow, predatory tread. Whomever it was that was bleeding was about to get a very big surprise launching towards them. As she crested a small hill top Terra's gaze locked onto a lonely pink and figure that was moving away from her. There was no doubt now in her mind. This was her target. Terra let out a quiet growl before breaking into a canter. She wanted the element of surprise but her hunger overrode her actions.

The ringing faded away as the mare let a frown nestle on her lips, there was little to no luck in her finding anything to amuse her as of the current moment and her temper was starting to fray. If this was going to continue winter was certainly nothing more than a barren annoyance to Tink despite her once pre-established idea that winter was the best seasons for deaths or at least they had been. Shaking her head the blood from her ears splattered across the ground dotting the pristine white snow yet despite trying to drain them there was still a noise muffled in her ears.
Footsteps? Oh what a joy the mare thought as she let a growl escape from her lips as her black pit like eyes searched for the culprit who would dare bother her while she was in such a foul mood. Maybe she had found a source of amusement yet by the appearance of the large brown figure that was following after her it seemed less likely that they were after her to chat. Glaring she replied in a short shout, “LEAVE!”

Terra's wings flared. She always did love a challenge. The figure had shouted at her to leave. Now why would she want to do that? What persuasion could the other mare provide her with to do so? And she was dealing with a mare. The timbre of the other Soquili's voice confirmed that much to Terra. It was also this figure that was leaving the delicious trail that she was following. The drops in the snow at her feet were fresh ... more proof if she needed it. Although upon further scrutiny the other mare didn't seem to be laboring as if she was injured.
Something amiss was at work here. Something that Terra didn't quite understand. She continued on her path and with each step decreased the distance between her quarry and herself. "Why should I leave? It is your fault that you drew my attention," Terra paused as she noted the bell around the neck of the mare. "Your blood and that bell; both caught my notice."
Terra came even closer towards the mare before stopping. She wore a smirk as she let her wings flare open to their full span. The claws on the end flashed dangerously. "Think you can force me to leave now?"

Tink growled again as the hunter grew closer, yet she didn’t move from the position of where she stood. Her bell did not ring, and as long as the bell did not ring she did not have to worry about dying. This also meant that the creature before her would not die by her own luck either which in a way was a bit of a pity but nevertheless it was better that neither died then her herself. She was quite aware that the mare that stood before was not some meager opponent that she could toy with, the claws on the end of the wings were quite reassuring in that matter. She could run but thing with wings longer than her own tended to put her at a disadvantage unless she found dense enough set of woods that kept their wings from flying to high.
“Well well, so you heard my death bell too, you know what that means don’t you? If it was ringing now one of us would die but since it is not, well I assume you can guess what that means…” Tink replied with a smirk on her muzzle. “I am no fool I cannot merely force you to leave but I’m in a foul mood already with only finding corpses and I really don’t have the patience to remain here to amuse you. As for the blood if you think I am injured you are rather wrong with that conclusion, I am not injured not even dying for that matter your more than welcome to give my rump a good look to see for yourself really the silly thing bleeds every time the bell rings.” Giving a slight grin to the mare and turning her rump for view she hid the fact that she rather annoyed and somewhat peeved at the idea of ending up with multiple scars that would bleed like the teeth marks on her rump under the red moon she hoped the creature would just hop along its way.

Well. This was a rather interesting development. Terra's nostrils flared as she tried to hide the fact that the scent in the air was driving her insane. Her blood lust almost compelled her to attack this mare on sight. Reigning in that compulsion was harder than it appeared. It had been growing steadily since her resolve to find other members of the carnival. Shaking her head at the other mare's rude dismissal Terra growled. "I care not if you are in a foul mood. The fact is your bell ringing earlier almost scared off whatever prey was in the area. I am still rather hungry."
When the other mare presented her back to her Terra almost took the insult as a physical slap. How dare this mare mock her? She was almost ready to charge when her gaze landed on something that made her freeze. There, on the mare's rump, was a symbol nearly identical to her own marking on her neck. Well well well. This was rather interesting. Terra ran her gaze more closely over the other mare's features. She didn't recognize this member but that mark signified that she was what she was searching for. Her posture changed. "How long have you been absent from the carnival?"

The mare remained much to the Tink’s annoyance, she knew fighting her was not really much of an option of however fleeing wasn’t really what she wanted to do right now not to mention it really bothered her to no end if she just turned tail and left. However if that meant keeping her body from being a pincushion to the mare’s claws fleeing was better than staying.
Tink gave the mare a bit of a mocking frown, “Well I’m sorry if all your prey left maybe if you didn’t follow me along then you would have had better luck.”
Yet the at the mention of the carnival set the mare into a darken glare as she realized the mark on the batwalker’s neck was not merely there by mishap. Here she had done quite well in forgetting the colorful tents and the goggling of onlookers as they passed by the attractions including herself.
“Why would you want to know something as trivial at that, it has been at least a year since I left and I have no intention of going back.” Tink replied letting a hiss escape from behind her teeth.

This stranger certainly was lippy. Terra resented the fact that she'd gotten off on the wrong foot with this mare. Certainly she'd put the other mare on edge and the scenario just wasn't playing out to her liking. A low grumble started in her chest and echoed around her. A batwalker did not apologize in any scenario. She would not do so now. Instead she leveled her gaze on the mark that taunted her. Her life had been the carnival until she had managed to escape. Now finding someone else from "home" wasn't turning out exactly as she had hoped it would. She craved answers.
"I have made it a mission of mine to seek out other members from our old home. Knowing when they left can guide my line of questioning better. That is why I ask. So you managed to leave around the same time that I escaped. How very interesting."
At the mare's last words Terra had to hide her mirth. "As if they could ever make us return. It'd be foolish for them to even try restraining me again."
