The city of Katarina was enjoying a cool Winter day, and Jenk had decided it was the perfect opportunity to take Tyrion out for a walk. The fire pokemon seemed to enjoy the weather, if only because his own heat kept him pretty warm, and Jenk was looking forward to teaching him to walk better on a leash. So, leash in hand, Jenk walked out of the apartment she was living in (for now), and clipped the leash onto Tyrion's collar. "Alright, boy." She said, scratching the top of his head. "Lunch, and then we go apartment shopping."
With three decent-sized Pokemon, Jenk quickly found herself in the situation of needing a new living arrangement. Apparently her landlord didn't approve of growlithes; who knew? Hmph. Regardless, Jenk straightened up and began walking Tyrion down the street, heading to her favorite diner for lunch. She was lucky to live relatively close to the shopping district in Katarina. She'd miss it...
Tyrion trotted along beside Jenk, whipping his head this way and that in an attempt at watching everything and everyone that got within distance of the Growlithe. He panted as he walked, giving off steam in the cool air, and looked up at his Trainer, barking lightly. Jenk grinned at the bark, and reached down, rubbing his head again lightly before straightening up to walk on. The little Growlithe followed diligently, tail wagging a little.
He never got walks like this at the shelter!

The slightly chilly air felt good after her long trip. Shikari breathed it in deeply. So many smells! Good ones....strange ones...and the occasional not-so-good-one assaulted her in an oddly pleasant sort of way. A new place, and hopefully a new start, awaited her. She started forward on slightly stiff legs, hefting her pack up better on her back.
Next thing she knew, she had run right smack into something small - and tripped over it. Her hand brushed warm fur on the way down. However, she didn't know what fur was. She'd always been kept away from the few pokemon that inhabited her home island, so she'd never felt it before. The first words out of her mouth were a reflexive "Oh, I'm sorry!" and then, as an afterthough after the initial shock, "What the heck was THAT?!"
She wasn't exactly tired of not being able to see anything. It was a fact of life she'd known since birth. Still, it would've been a handy faculty to have in this unusual place.

Jenk had been distracted as they made their way down the street, letting Tyrion lead her along as she checked her cellphone for emails. Job listings, job listings, message from home, job listings-- Her mindless reading was broken when, suddenly, she felt a sharp pull on the leash and heard a loud, high-pitched yelp from Tyrion. She looked up sharply, nearly dropping her phone in the process, and stared for a moment, thrown out of whack. Tyrion had backed right up into Jenk's legs, growling with his ears backed at the human who dared to trip over him!
Jenk didn't answer Shikari's shocked question, she was more concerned with the girl's safety. Flicking Tyrion to make him stop growling in the ear, lightly, she crouched down and reached out to grab Shikari's hand. "I'm so sorry." She said, her voice laced with concern and sheepishness. "I wasn't watching; Tyrion just leads me along most of the time, are you alright?" The growlithe heard his name, and barked, watching his Human handle the human who tripped on him. Feh.
Jenk shot him a glare, and the Growlithe quieted, still rumbling an indignant growl. He was small, not invisible!

"I'm....I'm not sure exactly what I tripped over...but it sounds upset...Tyrion, you said? Is that its name?" Shikari looked in the direction the growling had come from. "I'm sorry, Tyrion. I can't see you." She hoped it understood what she was saying. "I can't...see anything at all."
She stood up, unaware of the offered hand. "Normally I'm not this bad at handling myself. There are just so many things going on that it's hard to pick out what's what around here. Does the creature I just accidentally assaulted -" the girl said with an attempt at humor - "-belong to you? What exactly is it?" Brushing her long, thick black hair out of her face so it would stop tickling her nose, she attempted to at least look in the correct direction to speak to the lady who had addressed her. Her bright red eyes didn't quite make the connection, but she got close. At 22 years old, she stood fairly tall, too.

Jenk blinked at the girl, and snorted quietly. "Yes, that's Tyrion." She said, nodding to the Growlithe and reaching down to scratch his head to calm the poor dog. "He's my Growlithe." She said, smiling a little. "He's just a little indignant, he'll be fine." She promised, watching the girl curiously. Blindness wasn't unheard of, but Jenk had never dealt with it personally.
She withdrew her hand, and nodded a little even though she couldn't see it. Force of habit, really. "Katarina is a busy city." She said, smirking a little. "Tyrion's one of my Pokemon; a Growlithe. They're a fire type dog." She went on to explain, watching her curiously. "Do you have any Pokemon?" She had heard of canines ocassionally serving as guide dogs for the blind, but it wasn't something she saw nearly enough to know how it worked.

"No....I'm not sure I believe it, but I was always told they were dangerous...they never let me near one at home." She hesitated, not sure if it was polite to ask. "Do you think he would let me touch him? That's how I see what things look like, and I'd love to know."
She sat on the ground, hoping this thing called a "Growlithe" might come to her. Shikari kind of doubted it, though. It had seemed pretty upset with her goof. "Will you forgive me?" she asked it gently, holding out a hand.

Jenk smiled a little. "Pokemon can be dangerous, certainly." She nodded a bit, crouching to pet Tyrion encouragingly. "But most tamed Pokemon aren't dangerous at all. Even Tyrion's not so bad, once he gets over his indignation." She smirked a bit, nodding again as a habit. "You can pet him." She said, nudging Tyrion forward. The Growlithe growled darkly at his master, but stepped forward towards Shikari, plopping down in front of her.
"He's in front of you now." She said, snorting at Tyrion. Tyrion snorted back, and leaned forward, butting his nose against Shikari's hand. Jenk, pleased, leaned back to watch. Just in case the hotblooded Tyrion got angry again.

Shikari slid her hand along the side of Tyrion's face, being careful not to pinch him or pull his fur. It felt heavenly. She continued, sensitive to his mood by the tension in his muscles, along the side of his body. "Oh, you are a handsome boy, aren't you," she said approvingly as she formed a mind picture of what he looked like. She finished by bringing her hand back forward and massaging his chest for a moment. "I wouldn't mind having such a beautiful creature around once I get my sight."
Oh, that's right, she thought. I should explain. The blind girl stood up. "I came to Katarina because I heard there was a surgeon here that might be able to give fix my eyes. I don't really know where to find him yet...the people who told me didn't have that information." She paused. "Do you know anyone I might ask?"

Tyrion closed his eyes as the human who tripped over him felt along his face, barely biting down the rumbling growl that threatened to break free. Jenk watched him closely, smiling at the compliment but focusing her attention on Tyrion. He wasn't the best dog when it came to socializing, and though he'd stopped trying to one-up Meksuda and accepted Cersei, other humans were vastly different. Thankfully, he seemed to understand that he couldn't bite this one.
"Oh, really?" She asked in regards to the surgeon she mentioned. "I'm sorry, I haven't heard anything about someone who could do that." She furrowed her brow. "Your best bet might be the hospital; if anyone could do that, the hospital might have him on record or even as an employee there." She smiled encouragingly. Someone who could fix eyes should do it for the greater good, and Jenk was happy for the girl, though for a brief second doubt clouded her vision. If the girl had been brought over chasing a ghost... That'd be horrible.
But she didn't dare say it.

"Okay, thank you. I'll have to check there...but..." she bit her nail nervously. "Could you uh...point me in the right direction?" Shikari felt very much like a Magikarp out of water. Nothing on her island could have prepared her for this big place. She was hoping this new friend might offer to guide her, but she hardly dared hope. What do I do if she won't?

"It's not that far," Jenk said with a smile, straightening up and pulling Tyrion back to her side by his leash. "I can walk you there, if you want. It'd probably be easier than directions." Even someone with eyes would probably get spun around by her directions.
"Come on." Jenk reached out, brushing her hand against Shikari's without taking it so she'd know where she was. "It's this way." She started to walk, Tyrion trotting beside her. BACKTOTHEIRWALKNOW. Tyrion was happy, bolting ahead to sniff and snort at people who got in his way. Jenk let him, holding the leash calmly, and walked down the street towards the hospital.

Shikari grinned curiously. He sure sounded like an active little "dog", running around and making funny little huffy noises she hadn't heard before.
"Thank you so much," she told the friendly trainer. "I appreciate this like you wouldn't believe." It occurred to her that it would be very easy to get misled, but she quickly decided simply to trust her new friend.
It wasn't too long before they reached their destination, but to Shikari it had seemed like forever. The place was still so strange, and she'd been tripping on every little bump and rise in the road. She hoped she'd get used to it soon....but even more, she hoped that perhaps she wouldn't have to. "So, um...now that I'm here, I suppose it will cost money, right? Do you know any ways I could make some around here?" It hadn't occurred to her before that she was basically penniless, having paid everything she had for the voyage here.
