With slow and cautious steps Alexandre made his way onto a ledge on the mountain face. He had been exploring the mountains above his home quite often, and more often then not found himself presented with a meeting with mares that had a bird like quality to them. He was still very confused by this but tried his best not to let it show when he did encounter one. Although, there has been at least one instance where one of them seemed to be testing him. Alexandre found himself wondering what it was they had been testing him for.
Shrugging slightly he let the thought disappear from his head. He wasn't one to worry over things, at least not often. However, there was exception. His brother Damir. It had been such a long time ago that his brother had been kidnapped or quite possibly had somehow gotten lost on his own and taken in by someone to far off for him to find. This thought caused him great sorrow. It had been a sore subject for all of his family, one that had caused them to go into a denial of sorts about poor Damir. Had he have yelled they could of helped him. But sadly he could not talk, or refused to. They were not sure.
Now frowning Alexandre pushed his wings out from his back. Their tips touching the air as if trying to feel for any disturbances near by. He needed to focus his thoughts on something else. Anything else. Thinking of these things only brought him sadness. Sadness he wasn't ready to face today. Why did the winter have to be such a sad and forsaking time? He sighed. Maybe it was best to go back to his cave and relax.

With a wide grin, Dell closed her eyes as she soared through the air. The crisp, cool air hitting her face, and whipping through her hair kept her excited as she explored the area by way of the skies. As the days slowly passed by, she was getting more and more use to the area with each passing day. So far her favourite place, by far, was the hot springs. The warm area amused her immensely for some unknown reason. Probably due to the fact that it was warm whereas the rest of the area was cold.
With a sigh, she looked to the ground, in hopes of seeing something of some sort amusement. A small smile would flit across her face as she saw the different coloured soqs on the ground. Seeing the soq talking to each other made her yearn for contact. The young mare had been slightly skittish, still adjusting to the place, and had yet to really get to know anyone. Huffing once more, the dark angeni changed her direction and headed towards the mountains with a slight grin. She had yet to really explore that area and was really looking forward to it, to be honest. So many caves! Plus...the powdery white stuff known as snow. She'd never played in the snow before.
Nearing the mountains, she giggled. A male was standing on a ledge. Having flown by him once, she doubled back and got another look. The male was the exact opposite of her! She giggled again, having never seen someone who was all white. Then again, she was all black, so it was clearly very possible. With a grin, she landed on the same ledge, a few feet to the side of him. She cocked her head to the side, as she wriggled about. As she took him in from the save level, she frowned. He looked sad. "Hi!" she quickly blurted the word out, a bit more loud then she'd intended. Her wide eyes stared at him, wondering what he'd do or say in return, her body tensed, ready to take off at a moments notice if need be.

It had taken Alexandre a few moments as he stood there on the ledge to process that there was someone flying through the air. Despite having a higher level of hearing then most due to his blindness and thus his other senses needing to compensate, he was still only a soquili. He could feel that the air seemed to be moving in odd ways as if someone was flying, but he was not sure. When the figure landed beside him he instantly found his nostrils to be filled with the scent of a mare.
Politely turning, he bowed to her, his wings stretching to his chest as he did so. When he rose he pulled his wings back to his back and smiled. "Hello there miss!" He said, showing the same enthusiasm she did. His sadness was still apparent on his features, but more dulled down. "My name is Alexandre. It's a pleasure to meet you." He added, his smile softening a bit. As he stood there he noticed something was odd about her scent, she didn't smell like the majority of other soquili he had met before, but their was something about it that was familiar. What was it? Where had he smelled this scent before?
As he pondered it for a moment more his eyes locked onto her face, then his eyes scanned her body even though he could not see. But he wasn't sure if telling her straight away that he was blind was a good decision, after all not all shared the same view that he was normal and thus didn't need others to feel sorry for him because of his condition. "May I ask what you're name is miss?" He asked, his eyes focusing back on her face.

She shifted uneasily as his milky eyes turned towards her. That meant he was blind, right? Not that it mattered to Dell. It was just a first for her; something new and unexpected. After all, how could one fly without site? Did that mean he didn't fly ever? Or just very carefully? As he gave a bow, she giggled lightly. That was another first. Her being bowed to. How strange- the thought of someone bowing to her was just silly!
Opening her mouth, she nearly said 'hello' in response, before promptly shutting her mouth. Duh. She said 'hello' first, so saying it again would be silly of her. Not unexpected, though. Sounded rather typical of herself, if you asked her. She gave a grin. Alexandre. She had fun with the last two letters. 'Re'. Not 'Er'. Her lips quirked in amusement. "It's nice to meet you, too, Alexandre!" Speaking more than one word, her soft-spoken, silvery voice was heard more clearly. Shifting once more, this time due to the sheer need to move, Dell beamed at the stallion, despite knowing he couldn't see her do so.
Her name? But it was so short compared to his! Then again, she did have a variety of nicknames. Maybe she could list those all off to him, as well? And yet, at the same time, maybe she should let him come up with a nickname should he choose to do so. Alas, her thoughts were distracting her. "My name is Dell! But, I go by a variety of other names, so feel more than welcome to call me whatever ya want to call me!" She gave an over-eager nod, before shaking her head. She wondered if he had inkling of half of the currently un-need movement she was making. She opened her mouth, and closed it. Asking the stallion why he had looked so sad wasn't a polite thing to do. While she lacked manners at time, she still knew better.
"How're you?" She contemplated throwing 'Zander' on at the end, but she didn't know how he felt about nicknames, and didn't want presume anything. Then again, she might change what she wanted to call him. Best to stick with Alexandre for now.

Smiling now at the mare he nodded. "Miss Dell." He said, letting her name hit him. It felt fine to call her that, tacking on his proper greeting to ladies. He heard her moving quite often which made him a bit confused. Was something wrong? Did he have something on him? He couldn't feel anything. Hm. Maybe she just thought looked funny. It was quite possible.
"I think I shall stick to Dell for now miss." He replied, smiling once more. "You may do the same. Although, admittedly I have never been called anything but my name." He said, trying to be honest but not scare her from calling him something different. At her question he found himself needing to think. He didn't want to damper her mood with his sorrows that were not important to the situation.
"Honestly, I've been much better. My family and I recently separated and their absence has caused me quite a bit of sorrow." Alexandre replied, letting the sadness he felt slip through his words for a moment before he cleared his throat. "I will not trouble you with my sorrows though miss." He smiled, tilting his head slightly at her. "How are you?" Alexandre asked curiously.

With a wiggle, Dell gave a giggle. He called her 'miss' again. She took note of his facial expression, and figured it was due to her movement. He could hear it, but couldn't see it. She tossed her head with a snort. "Sorry. I move about. A lot. I don't like standing still, so I constantly move in one way or another..." A sheepish grin appeared on her face at the confession.
Again with the miss! "That works for me, Xander. Hrm...no. I think I shall stick to Alexandre. For now, at least. We'll see. I like nicknaming others. It gives a more personal bond. Kinda. Maybe. I don't really know..."
She frowned lightly. "Oh. Well, can you not go and find them? I mean, if you have family, you should hold onto them, shouldn't you?" Dell didn't know her family. Sure, she had the mare who raised her, but she wasn't actually related to her. To know her own family would be amazing, in her opinion. At his question, a smile reappeared. "Me? I'm great! It's a pretty day. I like it. Plus...flying. It's fun. Very freeing." She gave a nod to accentuate her point.

Alexandre grinned a sideways grin. "That's alright miss Dell. I was just worried something was wrong." He confessed with a slight nod. "Xander... That's one I've never had before." Alexandre confessed once more, this time grinning a full grin. "I shall wait patiently for you to come up with something." He bowed once more, this time his wings staying in their previous position.
A very light frown tugged at the ends of his mouth, but his grin remained. "I could and one day will. But for now we need our time apart, to learn how to live on our own. To make our own paths in life." Alexandre replied with a soft and gentle voice. "I must agree with you miss Dell. Flying can always bring a smile to my muzzle." He chuckled a bit. "Glad to hear you are doing great." His ears turned forward as he listened to her nodding her head, her hair catching the air. "May I ask what brought you here?" Alexandre asked, a tinge of confusion and curiosity lacing his words.
Had she seen him from the sky and landed? Or was this a place she visited often? Was her home nearby? Alexandre lightly shook his head for a moment, his short mane flopping around as he shook the swirling of questions that were building up in his head. "Do you have any family miss?" He asked in an attempt to direct the attention to her. He liked learning of others. And she was no different. Though, he would openly admit that he was rather interested in her probably due to her over exuberance which was a nice and welcome change from the soquili he usually encountered.

"Oh. Nope! Nothin' wrong." As she spoke she shook her head in an exaggerated manner; her hair whipping about as she did so. "...Alex was too mainstream so I had to use somethin' different. Somethin' a little more unique. But the name it's self didn't seem to fit you...so yes! Patience will be needed. Unfortunately." She gave a pout- being patient was not Dell's forte in the least little bit.
"Oh." She was silent for a moment, thinking over what he'd said. "Family can be a wonderful support system, but at the same time they can certainly hold one back, I suppose. Some time apart might be a good thing then, yes?" She gave a slight smile- she imagined that that was what it would be like. At his question she gave a unlady-like snort. "'twas just flying. I saw you. And was amused. I'm all black- you're all white. So...yeah. No reason really. Sorry. Did you not want company? I kinda don't pick up on things like that. Really...I won't be offended if you ever tell me to go away for a bit or something." She gave a light chuckle. It was true. She liked being around others and often missed (really, it was more of an 'ignored' rather than 'miss') what one would be trying to say.
"Family? Me? Nah. I mean...surely I have family, but I don't know them. A two legger raised me from foal-hood, so yeah. But actual family? No clue. Dunno them. It kinda sucks at times, but I'm also really really really used to it. So, it's all kinda whatever. My two-legger is pretty awesome. Well, she isn't mine. But, meh. Imma claim her as mine. She lets me do whatever. I guess she's kinda family. I dunno." Dell let out a slight huff. Silly two-legger confused her- she might as well be family, Dell supposed. She'd taken care of her and raised her. She gave a wide grin at Alexander, still attempting to figure out a nickname for him.
