Aven sighed as she walked around the town. It was pointless to moon over Devin like this. He was a playboy and probably always would be. She moved around the market but it wasn't for anything truly productive. This was nonsense, she was Aven Bereth, there was no reason for her to feel so... so... upset about this!

Snow fell lazily around the male and he stood as still as a statue. His black fur blended in with the shadows of the building he stood beneath. His dark hair fell in luscious curls around his long, narrow face. His broad chest tensed and he clenched his fists at his side, making his thick arms bulge, and slowly a long white cloud escaped his flared nostrils, interrupting the shadows. As he exhaled the rest of his body relaxed.

He stepped out of the shadows when a mare of strange, foreign beauty passed him. As if in a trance his pale, icy blue eyes followed her. He stepped closer up behind her, his form, no doubt, towering over her. He was a beast among stallions. A broad, muscles behemoth that stood well over the usual height of the stallions in the village. He'd always been told he was good breeding stock, but unlike most of the males here, he wasn't a womanizer, and it took a special kind of lady to catch his eye.

"It's getting late, and the streets are growing colder... no place for a beautiful mare to be wandering alone... it's... dangerous." his voice was a deep, rich, husky baritone that could make anyone feel like the ground was trembling beneath their feet. He just had that effect on mears in general. "I will take it upon myself to see to the safety of your wanderings." he stated calmly.

He was... an interesting male. While he was not a womanizer, he did enjoy their company. But often, he sought to soothe a hurt they might harbour, to protect them and guard them, like the treasures they were. Every mare was a child once, and every mare had the chance of carrying a child. This made them precious, and everything precious deserved to be guarded.

Granted, he had no doubt in his mind, many were more than capable of defending themselves, but he was still a gentlemearn and he was still a behemoth with a love for ladies. He knew a couple that could but his gigantic self on his butt, but he loved testing them, making sure they were up to snuff, especially if he wasn't always around.

That deep voice made Aven stop in her tracks. Why could she feel it in her chest still? She turned to tell whoever it was that she could take care of herself only to be met with the mearh's broad chest. She let out a slow breath as she looked up to see the male's face. He was very attractive and his eyes... they seemed to pierce into her soul. She reached up to toy with the necklace she wore. "You sound like your mind is made up. I suppose I can't stop you, but I would like to know your name."

Razvan's dark lips parted, revealing a charming, ivory smile. "I appologize," came the rumble. "Very rude of me."

He swept down at the waist so they were eye level and he held out his hand for hers, palm up. "My name is Razvan. My sister calls me Raz."

He waited for her hand, and if it was recieved, he'd graciously brush soft lips to the back of her knuckles, ears back and bright, pale gaze never leaving hers.

However, if the hand was not recieved, he'd tuck the open hand against his torso, free hand rising in a flourish before rising smoothly from the bow, long dark hair falling around the masculine face. The white tips stood out against the black fur and made him seem so much lighter, a stark relief to the darkness of his pelt, not unlike his disposition and his deep, and sometimes unsettling, voice.

"Well, it's nice to meet you I suppose." She did place her hand in his blushing at the touch of his lips on her hand. Definitely charming... She took a calming breath before she trusted herself to speak. "My name is Aven... what has you out this late?"

"I could ask the same of you, dear lady. It's not safe for such a lovely mare to be out alone at night. However, I just completed my work for the day and I thought I would enjoy some fresh air before I returned home." He gave her a soft smile, wrapping his fingers around her small hand before releasing it, secretly self-conscious, despite his show of confidence.

"I am out tonight because my own thoughts made me wander. To be honest I really wasn't paying that much attention." I've been brooding over a man that I loathe just as much as I'm attracted to him. I am a complete mess. She looked up at the sky to watch the snowfall and shivered lightly from the cold. Here she was a grown mare out just after dusk talking to a strange man that she had just met. But the excitement from the mystery of this stallion eased any fears. She'd wanted to get her mind of Devin anyway.

He listened to her explanation and saw the look in her eyes change a little. She seemed down, or distracted, at least. He wondered if something was wrong, or if there was something he could do to help her...

"Hmm, tell me, Aven, is something troubling you? It's not often one sees such an expression on the face of a mare with a content heart. If it helps, you could talk about your troubles with a stranger. I've been told I'm a good listener." he winked, dropping his head to the side to toss his hair out his blue eyes, waiting for an answer.

Aven bit her lip as she looked at Razvan. Could she possibly tell him? I guess it couldn't hurt... talking about it anyway... "Well... it's like this. There is this male and he is my friend, but he is a bit of a womanizer. I've tried talking to him to change his way... Okay I've been lecturing him about it. He really is a good person at heart... but I don't think I can stand to see him hurt. It's only a matter of time till it happens..." She pulled her cloak closer to her body and sighed. Well that was most of it anyway.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 17, 2012 1:54 pm

"Maybe that's what he needs." he said softly.

"I know you don't want to see him hurt, but maybe that hurt is what it's going to take for him to realized the error of his habits. And, maybe when someone finally does hurt him, he'll realize the one woman who actually loves him is still waiting to hold his hand and help him through it." his words were smooth, matter of fact, and his gaze was knowing.

Her eyes and her voice said it all. She loved him, and she didn't want to see him hurt, even when his actions were hurting her. She was a sweet mare, and she deserved a friend who trusted her word, someone she could fall back on, and someone she could talk to. Given the chance, he'd gladly be that if she needed him to be.

His intentions seemed genuine, there was no catch, no secret hopes of getting in that pretty dress. He was content, at ease, and he was understanding. He offered her his arm, waiting to see if she'd take it, and he let her steps lead.

For a brief moment Aven's eyes widened. Raz was very intuitive. The fact that he pegged her so easily, however, hurt her pride. She straightened herself, "I think you're reading to much into it at the end, but you maybe right about him having to get hurt." She smiled lightly, "You wanted to escort me home, right?"

Razvan saw her eyes widened and he chuckled at the indignant mask she wore. "Come now, no need to look so surprised. My mother was a palm reader. She used to deal in love. I just picked up a few things in the many years I watched her." He gave her a sweet grin and, at her inquiry he nodded, "If that's where you would like to go. I would gladly walk with you if you aren't ready to go home tho." he offered sweetly.

She smiled up at him, "I don't think I'd mind a walk by the river, right about now." Aven took the arm Raz had originally offered and began walking towards the river. As she walked she relaxed and leaned her head on his shoulder.

Razan smiled, looking down at her when her head leaned against his shoulder. She seemed so much more relaxed now. He was glad, he hated seeing a mare so down. He nickered softly as the stars above them began to shine brighter, their reflections glittering on the river's surface like small diamonds. He looked down, pausing for a moment, as he walked. He looked at her, then at their reflection and he smiled.

They didn't look too bad, the two of them. But alas, he was a bit of a ladie's man, and her heart belonged to another stallion. He was okay with that though. For now he was just a friend that wanted to make her evening a little easier.

Aven looked up at Raz and unbeknownst to her a light pink blush crept onto her face. This night had taken a rather interesting turn. She had gone from a depressed mess to strolling along the river with an extremely attractive stallion. She stopped and looked at the night sky which was so eeriely similar to Razvan's coat. "How did you do this? Everything seems just right now."
