Bedeinka laid down as far as she could from the other females. She didn't want to associate with them. Soon she would be out of here and she wouldn't have to worry about the pride for a while. The pride should be fine without her anyways. Most she was worried about her soft nephew Nahasi. She was worried what might happen to him while she was gone. He was in love with a leopard. Her father would never have aloud this to happen if he were still alive.

She took a moment to breathe. This wasn't important right now. When she got back she would deal with Juan. For now she needed to focus on something much more disturbing. Nahasi spent a lot of his free time heading down to the female's den. At first she was worried that he had a thing for one of the females, but wasn't happening thank goodness. No, instead he befriended one of the lioness. She shuttered at the thought.

It was one thing for him to come to her for company, they were family, but to go to another lioness and play games. She couldn't allow it. There had to be some point where it had to end. It was her duty to the pride to put an end to the friendship. She would talk to the lioness today and convince her to leave the pride and stay of way from her precious king.

Unlike Bedeinka, Eris found pleasure in spending as much time with the idle minded females as possible. The wittier ones tended to tire of her riddles and questions, but the simpler lot found the way she talked 'funny', and enjoyed her stories. As long as she was here, she found associating them to be a fun way to pass the time between Nahasi's visits. Not that she expected him to spend as much time with her in the future, though. She'd seen the look in his eye many a time when speaking about his guard, and even though she'd never asked and he'd never told, she suspected there was more to that tale.

What she needed now was a break; or more importantly, a meeting. There was a lioness within the den with whom she knew a little about, mainly that she was Nahasi's Aunt, but nothing else. She hoped against hope that she would prove to be just as entertaining as her nephew.

So, with a determinedly lazy stride, she approached the older lioness. "Blood and water," she mused, leaning in for a closer look at Bedeinka's eyes. "Tell me, which is thicker? Blood or water?"

Bedeinka looked up at the lioness. It seemed she didn't have to find her and separate her from the other females. She looked into the blue eyes and smiled, not a gentle one but a rather cruel one. "Blood or water, which ones thinker?" She repeated taking a moment to think. "Doesn't it matter who blood it belongs to? For example my blood would be much thicker than say that of a traveler I believe."

She stood up still watching the lioness carefully. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I am King Nahasi's Aunt, Bedeinka." She greeted. The lioness should know who she was, but she didn't want to take any chances. Quickly she examined the lioness from head to toe.

"I've seen you around King Nahasi lately. Are you two friends?" she asked curiously.

Bedeinka's cruel smile was met with one of false insanity that lit up every corner on Eris' face. It hid the sudden urge she had to erase this meeting all together, and simply return to the chat she'd been having moments earlier about which cheetah had the cutest spots. "In that case, I think you're wrong. The Traveler's blood would be thicker because it is less diluted. It would hold all the knowledge and experience of a wandering soul, thus giving the blood more sustenance." She laughed lightly. "At least, that's my opinion."

Eris stepped back to give the other lioness proper space. "A pleasure, Bedeinka." She dipped into a mock bow, rising quickly enough. "It is an honor to meet you. My name is Eris, and yes, I would say that." She nodded, pursing her lips as if in deep thought when a wicked thought passed in her mind. "Maybe a little more."

Bedeinka nodded her head. "You have a valid point." Her voice was filled with irritation. She didn't not like being proved wrong. "Shall be agree to disagree than?" When Eris bowed Bedeinka couldn't help but roll her eyes. Was this all a little joke to the lioness?

She tensed up. A little more? What on earth. That doesn't mean that this lioness felt something toward Nahasi could it. "A little more." she repeated out loud with a hint of disbelief. "You are not saying that you, a common lioness has feelings for my nephew correct?"

She couldn't really do anything against Eris if it was true she had feelings for Nahasi. Her power over the king was limited. He would never kick out his own friend just to make his old aunt happy. "Nahasi could never care for you. I bet he hardly thinks of you as a friend. He probably just gets bored and needs someone to talk to."

Her words were more reassuring to herself than anything. She couldn't see why Nahasi would even waste his time with Eris. There seemed to be nothing special about her.

Ooooh! Apparently she'd struck a deeper vein that she thought. Like any good bringer of chaos, Eris couldn't help, but to dig in a little more. "Feelings?" She laughed, placing a paw above her chest. "None more than friendship, I assure you. Though, on a more carnal note..."

That, at least, was true. As the King grew, he became less of a little boy she wanted to coddle and more into a man that she wanted to respect. He was attractive in his own way, just not one that she pined after; more like one she wouldn't mind to have, but wouldn't degrade herself over. "If he didn't care for me, why visit at all? Surely that guard of his can keep him company." She grinned. Maybe now was an oppurtunity to learn more about said guard.

"Besides, I'd hardly be common at all if I gave him an heir, now, wouldn't I?"

Bedeinka watched her now, her eyes at a glare. She was just trying to anger her now wasn't she. "King Nahasi is still young. He needs to be entertained. Soon he'll find your company and the company of his silly guard dull and boring. He'll find the company of the elite members of the pride much more appropriate." She said raising her nose up in a stuck up way. "That guard may have his interest now but once Nahasi realizes that leopards are beneath him he will surely find a much more suitable male for his interest."

Eris last comment made Bedeinka finally lose her temper. She stared at the other lioness for a moment, but than smiled. It took a moment for her to calm herself down enough for her to be able to talk civilized. "His highness would never choose an outsider to bare his cubs, especially when he hasn't even chosen and consort yet."

She shook her head, disgusted by Eris and the thought that she would be the one who bore the future king. That would disgrace the whole pride and Nahasi would never do that. Unlike his father, Nahasi cared for the pride over his own well being. He would care what the pride thought of the female he chose to bare his cubs. "If the King ever chose you to bare him his heirs I would bite my own tail."

She knew she would never have to do that. Nahasi would tell her if he had picked a female wouldn't he? Than again she wasn't as close to the king as she wanted. Could he be hiding things from her? She shook her head. The lioness was just playing little games with her. Nahasi would never lie to her. The lioness was just lying about the whole thing. It was the only thing that made sense.

"Oh, will he?" Eris gasped, looking suddenly chrest fallen. "But we...we were so close." Her bottom lip trembled before she settled into a more melancholy state of mind. The whole situation was amusing as hell for her, even if it did sting a bit. She hadn't thought that this Aunt would be so antagonistic towards her.

Oh, ho! so the guard was a leopard. How interesting. Of course, to her, species meant very little, though she could understand concerns for a fertile heir. However, with a love that held no possibly of cub bearing, what role did species play?

Eris grinned like the cat that stole the cream. "....Is that a challenge? At first I was only teasing you for a bit of fun, but now that you've offered to harm yourself, well, let's just say I'm in it to win it." Eris just laughed. She would never force Nahasi to have cubs with her, it just wasn't in the cards, but what a reaction! His Aunt surely was something else.

She was already regretting her word. It would be disgraceful of her to bite her own tail, but it would be more so if she didn't her promise. "It is a challenge I intend to when." She spoke strongly. "My nephew will not fail me. He will choose someone proper to bare him his cubs and not some traveler."

She stood up ready to leave, but than stopped. "When you decided that you cannot win I wish you best of luck when you leave the pride. I expect that you will not stick around once King Nahasi chooses the female to bare his cubs. It would be most embarrassing for you I would think."

Than she left the female's den. She needed to talk to Nahasi right away about the female. She would have to convince him that an outsider like Eris would be the worst possible choice to bare his cubs. Hopefully they would end their relationship on a bad note. A sinister smile spread across her face as she continued to make her way to Nahasi.

Eris waited until Bedeinka had left before exhaling. "It's been a while since you've made an enemy, hasn't it?" She mused, running a paw through her rainbow mane. It wasn't something she prided herself on, either, but haters gonna hate.

In truth, Eris wasn't planning on sticking around long enogh for Nahasi to have offspring, anyway. She would much rather find out who his guard was, and make sure the two of them were happy, despite his traditionalist Aunt's meddling. No doubt she would fight to keep the two separated.

All she could hope for at this point would be that she didn't chew Nahasi out too bad. But then, she had to laugh. "I only wish that I could see the look on his face."
