Slipping off her log the blue vixen submerged under the swampy water. Her head popped up and she gasped for air and started trying to scramble back up onto the log. It took her a while, but Maylea managed it. She was covered in slimly green water plants. It was gross! Still this was part of traveling. May wondered what her mother, or her friend Boris might say if they could see her out like this. Lost alone in the middle of a swamp all because she decided to take a walk alone away from the tribe for a little bit. She liked being in the gypsy tribe. Everything seemed so exciting since it was all new to her. Spitting out some swamp water May wondered if she was going to be ok crossing the rest of the tree. She still had another ten to fifteen feet to transverse. She immediately started to shiver as a breeze found its way to get through her wet fur. She’d need to find a spot to curl and get warm before she got ill or dangerously cold.

The green and purple vixen blended in with this new swampy surrounding that she had stumbled upon. What was this pretty much tropical fox doing out in some slimy wet area? While she loved her home with her father and mother she hated being stuck to one area. It just drove her absolutely positively bonkers and up the wall. So here she was far far away from home and really enjoying herself. No younger siblings to worry about or anything. It was time for a lil TLC for herself. Just as she thought that she heard a loud splash and went to investigate.

Sniffling once Maylea continued traveling across the log creeping forward not wanting to slip again. She was glad she didn’t live in the cold north like her sister Rois right now. She knew that being wet up there was dangerous right away at least even the swaps in the middle of the cold season were a bit warmer that the Yukon Gang’s territory. Finally managing to slip off the log she thought she heard some movement she dropped to her belly and against her better judgment slid backward into the muck. Trying her best to hide under the log while still being able to breathe May hid waiting to see what else was in the swamp with her.

Alexandra carefully approached the swampy area. She knew that it was really dangerous in these parts because of snakes and other things like that. She really didn't want to be eaten by something and being the oldest out of all her siblings she would never live it down with them because of how protective she was over them. So as she walked she noticed the swamp water was moving some. She left her self a mental note not to get to close so nothing could pull her in.

May couldn’t quite see what was making the noise from where she was. All she could hear was rustling. It was tough to figure out because the mucky water was somehow finding it’s way into her ears since she had to keep them back to hide under the log. She tilted her head so that she could clear one ear and made the mistake of stopping her little dog paddle to stay above the water. After a surge of water entered her nose she paddled harder and sneezed loudly as soon as her nose cleared the water.

Alexandra noticed that the little area she had wondered into had a huge swamp just at the edge of the grass and in the swamp was a log and some lily pads and other things. She wonder if there were frogs there. She liked frogs. So she sat there quietly for a few to see if there were any but nothing so she decided to leave. Just as she was about to leave she heard a sneeze that made her pause and turn back. "Hello?" she called out.

Flinching May knew she had been had. Still what responded was a voice and not some growl or something? Perhaps it was a fox who was a member of the gypsy tribe that she didn’t know? That was a possibility since she certainly didn’t know everyone. The tribe didn’t have a lot of enemies so that she was probably safe from being attacked. “umm ah hello.” Maylea dog paddled out from under the log. She was covered with slime and muck.

Alexandra's eyes widened some as something came out of the mucky, murky water. It took her a few moments to realize that it was another vixen covered in the swamps slime... she bet that had to not feel pleasant. She stepped back to give the other more vixen to climb onto land and out of the swamp. "Are you alright?" she asked once the other female was safely on land. There was genuine worry in her voice.

Moving up to the shore May dragged herself onto land with a loud plop as some of the pond flora fell off of her and onto the ground. “um Yes. I’m alright… I ah fell in and then I heard noise.. I thought you might be something else.. Sorry.” Her ears were laid back, not because she was scared at the nice looking vixen in front of her, but rather because she was still dripping and didn’t want to get things to trickle down into her ear. Right now all Maylea wanted to do was to shake off but she didn’t want to get the other vixen covered in well strange gunk from the water.

"Well I am glad you are alright though I am very sorry for startling you and causing you to fall and to that most disgusting water." Alexandra said walking up to the other fox. "Here let me help you get some of that off," she said as she began to brush slime off the other vixen's back "By the way I'm Alexandra."

“Oh no.” May looked up at the green vicen who was helping her clean off the swamp scum. “I fell first and then heard you. I only hide under the log when you came. I would have been a mess either way.” She blushed and tried to wipe off as much of the gunk as she could. Though it was difficult and she knew there would be some stuck in her tail. “Thank you for helping me, it’s nice to meet you Alexandra. I’m Maylea.”

"Ah I see. How come you are out here in the first place?" Alex ask in curiosity as she helped shove the stuff and kind of shook her paw to try and get it off. "It's nice to meet you Maylea. I'm Alexandra or Alex for short."

“Well I was exploring and got a bit lost.” May looked at Alex. “I’m sorry this stuff is really slimly.” She wrinkled her nose as she slide a lot of muck off her forepaws. “Alex. That’s a nice shortening. I suppose I could go by May. I’ve never really done it though.”

"Lost huh? That's never good. Where were you heading? I might be able to help you." Alex stated confidently. She used her claw to scrap some of the slime out from behind May's ear so it wouldn't harden there and become itchy and irritating. "May huh? That sounds really pretty. I like it and don't worry it's fine."

“Well I was exploring.” May’s ears flicked back and she made a small mewling sound when Alex pulled the slime away from her ear. Her ears where very sensitive, but she was glad that the slime was all gone. “Thank you.” She hoped Alex was to off put by her action, but she simply couldn’t help herself. “So er… Alex. Why are you out here?”
