Eden had been looking for Orion. She sometimes worried that there was much he hadn't told her yet, she was his mate after all. but she knew he lovd her, she could wait to learn everything about her mate. All she really needed to know at the moment was that others in his life had hurt him deeply one way or another. As it was she had 2 surprises for him today and she hoped he would like them both. She looked back and lifted her wing a little, a tiny little infant bird was snuggled up. She had found the young thing and had thought that Orion would make an ideal carer for it. She wasn't hurt, just young. Besides something told Eden that this little girl would be a good friend for Orion, she was about as threatenign as the butterflies he liked so much.
The other surprise was hanging from her choker. The carved wooden heart that he had given her had pride of place next to the heart her mother had given her. The two heartsmade a sweet little bunch on her collar. Tucking her wing back over her surprise carefully she resumed walking to find Orion.

Orion yawned and stretched softly, he wasn't used to the whole awake at night all the time thing yet. He knew he didn't have to change his ways, but he wanted to. He wanted to be part of Eden's world, all of it. He looked around... she wasn't there, but that didn't surprise him either, she liked to wander to go off and thnk of all her.... inventions, as she called them. He sighed, perhaps he would never be able to keep up with her. They hadn't yet moved into the herd lands, but today Orion was determined to ask her if they could.... ok, he would be nervous at first but he would get used to it. He could do that for his mate... right?
With a soft yawn he got to his four hooves and spread his wings out wide. He paused for a moment.... not long ago he wouldn't have dreamt of doing so. He always hid his wings. Believing that if he did he wouldn't be seen as a freak... yet here he was... almost displaying them for the whole world to see. He blinked and folded them quickly to his sides. It was then he heard the soft pitter of hooves, his head snapped, no longer afraid the barer would be against him, but now hoping it was Eden.

Eden had caught a glimpse of him stretching, but she said nothing especially as he had folded them away so quickly. Watching him, thinking that sometime she will have loved him well enough that he could love himself. Smiling lovingly at him as she made her way to him, giving his mane a gentle n** and nuzzling when she got close enough to do so. "Did you sleep well?" Smiling at him.

Orion nodded at her, smiling widely at her before.... his eyes spotted her wing, it seemed off some how, like it wasn't sitting on her side as neatly as the other. Fear for her consumed him, and as he rushed to her side he looked for any signs that she was attacked or injuried. He spoke in a flurry of words; "AreyouokEden? Didsomeonehurtyou? Isyourwingok?" he was all but panting when he was done, and found himself circling her for the second time before he forced himself to stop before her, eyes sad with sorrow that he had hadn't been able to stop whatever had hurt her.
Maybe he should insist on going with her in the future? But that would squash some of his wild mates spirit and he simply couldn't do it.

Eden watched him go around her, her mind prossessing the rush of words, smiling at him and nuzzling him again when he stopped moving. "I'm fine, I'm not hurt and no one attacked me. Why would you think any of those things?" Blinking at him, not aware that he was so tuned in to her that he noticed that her wing wasn't laying flat. Gently placign a kiss on his nose, smiling gently.

Orion relaxed with her words but he couldn't get rid of the notion that she had been harmed somehow. "Your wing...." He finally forced him to say in answer of her question, "It's not sitting straight." He blushed, glad for a moment that his eyes were covered or she would see him closing them for a moment from embarssement.... but... was it truely wrong for a mate to worry fiercely about his other half? He suspected not, it was simply so new to him.
When she kissed him Orion's world melted and a grin the side of the world spread across his lips. "I love you Eden." He found himself saying.

Eden responded to his words by giving him another kiss and smiling. "I love you too Orion." Looking back at her wing then and smiling. "Its sitting like that because theres a surprise for you under it." Smiling at him again, slowly lifting her wing enough to show the young humming bird curled up in the warmth there when he was in a position to look.

Orion didn't know what to say or do when she said the words... surprise for you....! He couldn't recall a time when anyone had gone out of their way to surprise him... well, not in a good way at least. Not even his sister Lior had. He blinked and blinked again as a small bird was revealed. It was teeny tiny, cuddled into the warmth of Eden. It looked... fragile. "For me?" He found himself saying as he watched the bird uncurl its tiny wings for a moment, spread them and then snuggle up again. The colours were not unlike his own, blues and blacks.... she was beautiful, not as beautiful as his Eden but beautiful. "I...." He was lost for words. And for a moment couldn't help but fear that he would bring harm to the delicate creature.
The only thing he found strength in was the fact that Eden obviously believed in him. "Does it have a name?" He had never seen that type of bird before, and although he didn't feel any fear towards it he was worried he would harm it somehow. So small and fragile.

Eden shook her head, watching him smiling. "No, I don't think she does, so I think you should choose one for her, I'm sure she will tell you if she doesn't like your choice. Besides I have a feeling that you two will be best friends." Looking at the little bird then at him, nuzzling his cheek. She did believe in him, she was more than sure that this little bird would recieve the best care from him, and who knew maybe it would help him be more confident in his own ability.

She wanted him to pick? His eyes nearly popped out of his sockets. That was such a big responsibility. He gulped, wanting to do a good job... his eyes scanned their surroundings, trying to figure out what he could name such a delicate creature. His eyes fell upon a tree... Tree? No, that was not a good name for a bird. Leaf? While he liked that he believed a creature of the sky should have a more windswept name... Storm? No, too aggressive, and he had a feeling she would be far to gentle for a name like Storm. His eyes ventured upwards and stopped at two points... Cloud... and Sky.... he liked both. Sky spoke of freedom, endlessness and clear beauty; while Cloud could be light and fluffy or terbulant and mischievious.... for her he liked Sky. Sky??" He spoke it as a question, unsure and nervous.
The little bird didn't seem to object, it simply lifted it's head for a moment before settling back into Eden's warmth once more. "Do you think that Sky will be ok?" He asked turning his attention to Eden once more.

Eden watching all this smiled, pretty sure there would have been clear squarking if she hadn't liked it. "I think its a perfect name for her." Smiling at Orion, her wing still up though she would tuck it down soon to keep it warm if he didn't want to settle the sall bird somewhere on himself soon.

Orion nodded before looking at the bird once more... "Em...." He looked puzzled for a moment. "What do I need to do?" He had never looked after anyone other than himself before... let alone something as needing of his warmth and protection as Sky.

Flying.... though mostly she will just need attention and wampth. Soon as she is flying she will be feedign herself." Smiling at him, pretty sure he would do a wonderful job, her eyes telling him as much.
