Welcome to the "bands" subforum, a place to gather unofficial pack information and RP.

What is a band? A band is a group of wolves that acts as a pack IC-ly but doesn't qualify for official pack status due to number of members or lack of RP.

Why make a band? If you've ever had a great concept for a pack, but no real desire to RP in it regularly, a band is a good compromise: it allows you a place to post all of your information and RP from time to time, without the RP requirements associated with packs. If your pack has disbanded due to inactivity, you can form it as a band rather than trying to re-build it as a pack right away. Alternatively, if you're creating a new pack and want a chance to test-drive it, you can build it as a band first.

What's the difference between a band and a pack? Bands do not qualify for any RP perks, regardless of the amount of RP completed by members. This means that you will not get your own subforum, and all band-members will have lone wolf mortality rolls in breedings. Additionally, you cannot obtain alpha lines for the head of a band. You may, however, use band RPs toward the creation of your pack; if you choose to create an official pack, you must abide by the pack creation rules posted here.

What's the point of bands? Some people want to create a pack as a way to showcase a neat concept, provide backstory for a group of wolves, or simply as an official place for some wolves to "belong," but do not have the interest or time to devote to maintaining activity levels in an official pack. Bands serve as a compromise, allowing people to RP casually and maintain their pack concept, without undermining the benefits of those who work hard to reach pack quotas. Forming a band is completely optional: you don't have to have a band in order to run an unofficial pack, and you can RP a band as much or as little as you want. Bands will never be deleted or disbanded. They're just here as a tool for those who want an extra option for their characters.
